Myriad Playout v6 - Version History
v6.9.1 18th May 2026
New Features/Changes:
Promo Only music subscription service support:
- Myriad's Import Wizard now has built in support for importing from the Promo Only music subscription service https://promoonly.com/
- To enable the feature, click on the Settings menu then Database Settings, then on the Advanced tab, turn on the option at the top and enter the email address and password you use with the Promo Only service and click OK.
- The next time you go into the Media Import Wizard, you will now see a new Promo Only button that you can click on and review the most recently released tracks available from your Promo Only subscription.
- You can easily preview listen to each track before importing, and also select multiple tracks to be added to the list to import.
- Items that have already been downloaded are shown with a tick making it easy to determine which tracks you have already downloaded elsewhere.
AI Voice Links:
- ChatGPT script creation: Added support for OpenAI's latest gpt5, gpt-5 mini and gpt-5.2 models.
Item Information:
- The Item Information view now shows also shows the Type, Gender and Era information for each Media Item.
Split Voice Tracking:
- A new optional extra feature is now available for Stations that are broadcasting to multiple locations/transmission chains using Split Break/Split Groups.
You can now record a different Voice Track for each Multi Station enabled Split Station meaning you create a totally unique Voice Tracks for each split allowing you to identify the specific station/frequency/call letters, or include region specific information such as weather/shout outs etc.
- To record the different Voice Tracks, you use the Segue Editor as normal, where you will see a new 'Station Selector' on the left hand side to choose which station the VT is for. You then record the Voice Track as normal, including hearing the out of the previous item and the incoming item for each station so you can keep the link sounding natural and 'as-live'
- For more information about this feature, please contact hello@broadcastradio.com
- Once you have enabled this feature, you will see a new option in the Clock Editor that allows you to add "Voice Track" placeholder items to your Clock, and on this item you can select whether it should be a Single or Split Station VoiceTrack along with any notes that should be displayed to the Presenter when they are recording the Split Voice Track.
Scheduled Log/Scheduling:
- Bound Items: When adding an item to the Scheduled Log, by default, any Bound Item will not be added if it would result in the bound item being placed next to a Link. You can change this behaviour via Station Settings>Log Editing> Allow Bound items to be inserted next to Link items.
- Virtual Categories: Virtual categories are now built significantly faster, particularly for stations using more complex combinations of different Station Attributes to build the Virtual Category.
- Refresh the Log: Refreshing the log now also checks and updates the Item Type for each Media Item in the Log. For example, if you change the Item Type of an item from Basic Media Item to Song, the item will be updated to be a Song in the Log.
- Advert Log Import: Stations that are importing advert logs from 3rd party schedulers can now set a Custom Log file Start Hour. This is used where your traffic system is set to generate logfiles that do not run midnight to midnight, for example instead running from 2am to 2am.
Upgrade Tool:
- mAirList: You can now use the Upgrade Tool to import an mAirList database directly onto the Myriad MediaWall along with mapping Categories and Attributes.
Multi-Station Media Items:
- Per-Station Media List Items: A new optional feature is now available for stations using the new Split Voice Tracking option above. It introduces a new Content Type called Per-Station Media Lists, which lets you assign a different media item to each enabled Station. When the same item is schedule
Media:
- Ducking has been changed to add a very fast 'ramp' to the duck and unduck so the volume change is smoothed out.
- Media Editor: The Save/Next/Previous buttons are now shown on all of the ribbons at the top of the window.
- Media Library: The Media Library View now has an Edit button to make it easier to get straight to editing an item rather than needing to right click.
- Media Mass Change:The Mass Change tool can now add an image to Media Items, or remove all images from Media Items.
- Media Library Report: The name of the menu option has changed slightly to call out that it's also how you access the Mass Change utility and to bring it in line with Myriad Anywhere.
- Most Played Item Reports: The Most Played Reports now ask you how many items you would like to include in the report, rather than being locked to 100.
- Play Logs: An item is now marked as being played 'On-Air' even if the computer only had On-Air control for part of the item - for instance an item that finishes after the On-Air control has been transferred to another computer will now still be marked as played On-Air.
- Myriad has been updated to the latest version of the Broadcast Radio SmoothStream playback engine. This brings significant performance improvements on modern computers with a higher number of logical CPU cores.
Mixer support:
- Calrec Mixers: Full support has been for Calrec mixers that use the CSCP protocol over TCP/IP. This support includes all the additional Mixer Commands to read/write channel status/position/pfl etc. You turn on this support via the Application Settings window on the Mixer connections tab.
- Wheatstone Mixer: The "Log is active but stopped" output has been changed to be a short duration pulse instead of latching.
Layout Editor:
- SmartDisplayView: You can now control where the Text and image are positioned within the SmartDisplay. You can also now use the tag {StationLogo} to automatically display the logo for the currently open station. When you add a new tile, by default it now shows the Station Name and Logo.
Scheduled Tasks:
- Copy Log hour Task: There is a new option to overwrite any existing hours when copying, so you no longer need to have a separate Delete Hour Task as well.
- Task Display: Tasks are now groupable, and are grouped by Type by default. You can also now sort via the Enabled and Status columns.
- Task History: When a task run's, all User History events that are created as part of that 'Run' are now tagged with that Run so you can group those together making it very easy to track which events happened due to the Task. This works by storing the Task ID and the new Run ID in the user history. You can then Group by these columns in the User History window to show a clearer picture of how the task executed.
- Edit Task: You can see the recent history for a Task on a new Task History tab on the Edit Task window.
REST API:
- There is a new endpoint available via the OpenAPI to control the first visible MediaPreview view. The first 2 methods available are to Open a media item into the view and to Clear the view. For more details, please see the OpenAPI Documentation from the Help menu.
Database structure changes:
The first time a new version of Myriad is installed and run, it checks to ensure the database structure is fully up to date and automatically applies any changes needed. This process has been changed to allow extra time for stations that have very large databases or slow running database servers.
Database administrators who look after Mirrored/Always On SQL databases should be aware of the following changes that might require re-synchronisation of your database servers:
- The Myriad database structure has been changed to add a secure new storage area for Login Credentials/API keys etc. for use with external 3rd party services such as the Promo Only service detailed above. These will be used in future releases of Myriad to access new services.
- There is also a change to the MyriadTasks table to add in the Last Run information.
- The Directory Database has changes to the Events table to store the Task and Run Ids.
The following issues have been fixed:
- Media Editor: Myriad would exit if you used the options to show the Artist or Item History reports.
- Media Editor: Removing the name of an artist, but not clicking the X button to remove the artist row would not actually remove the artist from the Media Item.
- Media Import: Importing audio files that are more then 3 hours in duration could cause Myriad to exit. You should still avoid importing files this large as the built in editor cannot full edit the item.
- Media Import: Importing large Opus files would wrongly show the 'Scanning' progress as being completed when actually only a quarter to a half of the file had been imported.
- Log Playback: In some very rare circumstances, editing the log just after a sweeper had finished playing over the intro of a song could result in the song playing out at the "duck" level for the remainder of the song.
- Smart Transfer: The last item to be played when SmartTransferring the log to play on another computer was not being marked as played so did not show the 'tick' over the chain type.
- Dashboard: The title and artist information for the "next" items to play was being truncated.
- SmartInfo: Wikipedia information was not showing some characters correctly, for example the accented e in "née".
- Myriad Schedule Virtual Categories: Fixed an issue where entering a year or ""<ask> for a Clock Position in the Clock Editor resulted in no songs being scheduled in that position.
- Myriad Schedule Media Packets: Opening the Media Packets window to display Link packets was wrongly showing the Song Packets.
- Split Stations: Split Stations were not recieving a the current Show and Now Playing Information when they first connected to their controllers.
- Split Stations: Updating a Split Station's Settings when a remote controller is already connected would result in any external connections to OCP/Encoder being dropped and not reconnected until the Split Controller re-connected.
- Configuration Utility: Computers with a high number of Profiles would result in the Additional Media Locations not being displayed. The interface has been updated to move the Profiles onto a new dedicated Advanced tab instead.
- MediaPlayersView: The Recorder would consume far too much vertical space if the orientation was set to Vertical.
- User Summary Report: The User Summary report results were not exporting to CSV files correctly.
- User History: Clicking to sort by Date would not sort the results correctly.
v6.8.4 (Release 2) 2nd March 2026
The following issues have been fixed:
- Log View: Additional fixes for countries where the time is displayed with an am/pm suffix, the suffix could be partially cropped off in some configurations.
v6.8.4 23rd February 2026
New Features/Changes:
Log View:
- There are two new keyboard shortcuts that allow you to change the Chain Type of the currently highlit item - holding down the Control Key and pressing the . and , (decimal and comma) keys will change the chain to STOP and AUTO respectively.
SmartInfo:
- Met Office Weather: The Met Office weather provider has been updated to poll less frequently, helping stations that use the Met Office Free tier and share the same API key across multiple stations.
- TFL London: Added colours for the new London Overland route names.
Notifications:
- Email Notification: Added additional support for SMTP email servers that use unusual certificates/certificate revocation lists.
The following issues have been fixed:
- Log View: In countries where the time is displayed with an am/pm suffix, the suffix could be partially cropped off in some configurations.
- Log View: Dragging an item into the Log display was not correctly showing insert indicator to show where the item would be added to the Log.
- Log Playback: Fixed an issue where VERY short audio items in the Log on a heavily loaded PC could result in the AutoFade calculations being incorrect until the next segue.
- Advert Scheduling: Adverts could fail to schedule correctly if there were more than one Advert marked as being a "Tail" media item.
- Advert Management: Exporting a CSV file would export the fields in the wrong order.
- Advert Management: Exporting a Transport file would not include the Position in Break information correctly.
- Play Logs: Exporting the Play Log results to a CSV file would not export correctly.
- User Replication: User passwords were not being correctly sent to remote stations in some circumstances.
- Import Wizard: Selecting "Don't interpret the filename" would incorrectly set the imported items' title to titling embedded in the audio files.
- Local Cache: Some older file systems that report file timestamps with reduced granularity would cause files to be re-cached repeatedly.
v6.8.3 7th January 2026
New Features/Changes:
Important Replication Notes:
- Media Replication: In Myriad v6.8, the default Media Wall capacity has been increased to 999,999 items. When replicating Media Items, both databases must use the same Maximum Media ID.
If you have previously set a custom Maximum Media ID, no action is required. However, if the default value is still in use, media replication may pause — particularly where only one side of a replication partnership has been upgraded to v6.8.
To resolve this, either upgrade both local and remote systems to v6.8, or manually configure the Maximum Media ID to match on both databases.
Media Library/Media Report:
- You can now also display columns containing the names of the Energy/Tempo/Texture/Mood/Burnout for each item in the search results.
Upgrade Tool:
- Enco DAD: Further improvements to the Enco DAD upgrade tool, see the specific Upgrade Utility Version history for more information.
The following issues have been fixed:
- Media Editor: Opening the Media Editor for the very first time would sometimes not fully load the selected item.
- Media Editor: Selecting the tool bar options to change between different Content Types was sometimes hard to select the button for example changing from a List to a Random etc.
- Media Library: You could not re-arrange the columns at the top of the search results if you had turned on the option to show the "Group by" header.
- Media Importer: Importing audio from certain file types such as Flac could result in the same title/artist/image being applied to all items.
- Log View: The Cut/Copy/Paste/Swap options would sometimes not work if you only selected a single item.
- Myriad Main Log (MML) file import: Importing from an MML file exported using UTF-8 format could mis-read certain characters such as the acute accent on the 'e' in "Beyoncé".
- Myriad Main Log (MML) file import: Importing from an MML file could fail if the file contains double quote marks within the title or artist field.
v6.8.2 3rd December 2025
New Features/Changes:
Media Players:
- There is a new option that you can set per Player in the Media Engine Settings window titled "OCP" to tell that Player to send the Now Playing infomation for any manually played items straight to OCP, alongside any information already being sent from the Station Log. This option is designed for stations that play a lot of content 'live', rather than from the Log. If your main playout is almost always from the Log itself then you do not need to turn these options on as the information will already be being sent from the Log.
Media Import:
- Import Wizard: When loading a list of items to import from a csv/excel file, you can now use a single "AllArtists" column that contains all of the artists for that item, each one separated by a comma. Any columns titled "Artists" or "ArtistsNames" are also now treated as comma separated lists of artists.
- Import Wizard: Added automatic removal of rogue unicode non-visible characters from any text fields when reading from a list file.
- Import Wizard: Added more field names to the list of columns that are matched in spreadsheet and csv/tsv files.
New Update Media Information Wizard:
- There is an all new Update Media Wizard that works in a similar way to the Import Wizard, but instead of importing new items, instead, it reads information from the CSV, TSC, Excel or external scheduling systems and updates EXISTING media items with the information. For example, you may have a csv file that contains updating title/artist information or Copyright details that you want to have added to existing Media Items.
- To start the new wizard, click the View menu, then choose "Open Update Media Information Wizard".
- You have 2 choices for how to determine which Media Item should be updated for each row, either by Media Id or by the External Reference on the Media item.
Media Library/Media Report:
- The separate button to show/hide the External Reference column has been removed as this is now handled via the Columns button instead.
Upgrade Tool:
- Enco DAD: The Upgrade Tool can now import Enco DAD information. DAD's Groups are imported as Categories, and the Cuts are imported as Media Items.
- The Upgrade tool has been changed so it requires 'elevated' administrator privileges so it can only be run by a user with Windows Administration permissions.
Station Log Export:
- mAirList Playlist files: You can now export Scheduled Logs to mAirlist Playlists txt/tpi files. For more information about this feature, please see this Help article
Scheduled Tasks:
- There are new "Date-only" XML format tags available to be used in the filenames for tasks that export to files - these include <CURRENTDATEXML>,
<CURRENTUTCDATE>, <CURRENTUTCDATEXML>, <LOGSTARTDATEXML> and <LOGSTARTUTCDATEXML>. These all export the date in the format YYYY-MM-DD.
The following issues have been fixed:
- Scheduling: If an item was rejected due to Type/Gender/Era rules, then it could still be incorrectly scheduled even if that means breaking other high importanance rules.
- Scheduling: Some users could not save a Scheduling Preset to re-use later.
- Import Wizard: Selecting to get the Media ID from the Cut ID field could reset the media id to 0 for some items due to be imported.
- Import Wizard: Genders, Types and Eras were not being correctly imported from Lists.
- Replication: Replication would fail when trying to replicate a song or link with a Myriad Remote Edit Server/Myriad Cloud running v6.7 or earlier.
v6.8.1 11th November 2025
New Features/Changes:
Myriad Schedule Pro:
- This release of Myriad Playout contains the first release of Myriad Schedule Pro which marks a significant update to the older Myriad Schedule Plus product.
- As well as all existing Schedule Plus features, key new features that are part of Myriad Schedule Pro include:
- Media Research Pane: This powerful pane lets you easily dive into recent play history for each selected Media Item - see below for more information.
-
New Scheduling features:
- Media Packets: Media packets allow you to "packet" multiple songs or links together to occupy a single position in a Deck - for example if you have a high number of songs by a single artist in a Deck then you could Packet them together so you still play that Artist just as regularly as other songs, but a different song each time. Another good use is if you have multiple versions of a Song and want to play a different one each time, or even weighted, so you play the regular "chart" version twice for each time you play an "extended" version. Media Packets are managed from a button at the top of the Media Deck view, along with options to quickly create a new Packet and move the selected item into that packet. You can also drag media items from anywhere in Myriad into the Media Packet Edit window. For more information about this feature, please see this Help article. Note:
Media Packets are not yet able to be replicated using Myriad Replication, but this feature will be added in the near future.
- Future Moves: These are a very powerful addition that allow you to set changes to be applied to a Song or Link on a certain day, or after a specified number of plays. For example you might add a new song directly to your A List, then add a Future Move so after two weeks it will automatically move to your B List. You might then add an additional Future Move so that 2 weeks later it should move to Held category to rest. Then finally a month after that want it to automatically move to your Recurrent category. Future Moves aren't just for Categories though, you can also add or remove other Attributes - for example, you might just want to add a Tag called "Review needed" to a Song after it's been played 30 times as a reminder that you need to review how a song is testing now it's been running for a little while. You edit Future Moves via a new button at the top of the Media Editor window, and there is a new Report on the Reports menu to show you ALL
media items that have one or more Future Moves. For more information about this feature, please see this Help article.
- Link Followed By Attributes: Links can now be set so that they can only be scheduling into a position before a song if that song has a specified set of Attributes. For example, you might have a "Best of the 90s" jingle that you only want to play before Songs that have the Era of "90s". You can limit by multiple characteristics, so you can even limit further to only songs from the 90s that have a specific Category/Tag or Gender etc.
- You can now set a custom Throw Depth for each Category that a Media item is assigned to - for example, you may have a huge hit that you want to rotate slightly faster than the rest of your A-List, so you might change its Throw Depth from the default of 100% to 50% so it will only be 'thrown' half way down the deck each time it schedules, meaning it comes up twice as often as the other songs in that deck.
- Virtual Categories: There is a new option "Sort the Virtual Category in 'Most Rested' order" that will sort the virtual category by most rested order instead of a random order. As a cautionary note, if your Virtual Category includes categories that are rarely used normally then the first few times you schedule an hour using this new option you will find that items from those categories come up first because they inherently ARE the most rested songs.
- Powerful new Research features - see below
- Send/Export Logs to 3rd party playout systems: You can send logs to 3rd party playout systems in their native file formats including:
- Myriad's Main Log (MML) format
- Myriad's Advert Log (log) format
- Enco DAD music logs
- PlayIt Live music logs
- PlayoutOne DPL music log format in per-day format for PlayoutOne Pro or per-hour formats for PlayoutOne Standard.
- RCS Nexgen
- Station Playlist
- You can also export logs using several generic text formats:
- Generic CSV - comma separated, Tab separated and Pipe separated
- Fixed columns - a generic output as well as a fixed column format that matches Natural Music's 'Generic Text Automation Log' format.
- Exported logfiles can either be written direct to a local or network file location, to a Dropbox account, or sent via FTP to a remote system, with no manual user interaction needed to transfer the files.
- Fast station switching: If you have more than 1 station in your Myriad Database, you can now easily switch between them on the fly from a new selector at the top of the window. This is ideal for rapidly updating information across multiple stations, or even just for fast cross checking or double checking information. For example, you might have sister stations and need to make sure that key changes to a Clock are being correctly placed in both stations - you can just open the clocks side by side and easily check.
- As well as the features above that are built directly into Myriad Playout, if you are using the dedicated Myriad Schedule application then you also get these powerful new features:
- Media Research Pane: This powerful pane lets you easily dive into recent play history for each selected Media Item - see below for more information.
- Category Analysis and Projected Turnover: Accessible from the Song and Link Deck viewer, this tool lets you instantly see the typical turnover of items in your Category Decks as well as instantly simulating how that turnover would change if you change the number of items in the Deck or how often it's called.
- Log Analysis: Available from the left hand main menu this allows you to deep dive into the exact breakdown of your scheduled log including deep analysis of Category, Attribute and Characteristic use across the scheduled hours.
- The older Myriad Schedule Plus product has now been retired and all existing users of Schedule Plus have been automatically upgraded to Myriad Schedule Pro completely free of charge.
- Myriad AutoTrack Pro users can transition to Myriad Schedule Pro free of charge, please contact hello@broadcastradio.com for licensing information. AutoTrack Pro has also now been retired and will receive no more feature updates, but you can continue to use it as it will remain compatible with Myriad Playout v6 for the time being.
- For more information about upgrading other stations to Myriad Schedule Pro, please visit https://broadrad.com/schedule
Enhanced Mode scheduling / Fill This Hour:
- All Stations now use Deck Based scheduling as this gives a far superior scheduling result, and is required for many of the new features introduced in this version and the older 'simple' scheduling model has been removed. If you require the older model then you will need to remain with Myriad v6.7 or earlier.
- There is a new setting in Station Settings to "Show Fill This Hour" and all Stations that didn't previously have Enhanced Mode turned on now have this new option turned on by default so that users still see the same Fill This Hour option in the Log View. You should consider turning this option off if you don't need it as filling hours out of sequence can negatively impact on your deck rotations.
New collaboration tools via Media Replication and the new "Remote Media Browse" feature:
- Remote Database connections: You can now add multiple Remote server details on the Database Connections tab in Database Settings. This allows you to easily replicate your data with multiple other remote databases by simply choosing the remote database from the list when you select to replicate items.
- Replication via direct connection: You can now replicate with remote databases directly where they are available via direct connection to their SQL server and over the local file network. This is ideal where you have multiple systems within the same building or campus area network and allows much faster replication as it will work at network file/data speeds instead of using http based transfers. To do this, you just enable multiple Profiles in Application Settings and then select the Profile and database in the Edit Connection window on the Database Settings Window on the Database Connections tab. If you have multiple local workstations that will be replicating data, make sure that you have created the exact same Profile on each workstation.
- Remote Media Browsing and Download: This brand new feature on the Stations menu allows you to connect to a Remote Myriad Database and browse their MediaWall as if you were using that system directly. You can use all the normal searching tools including the full Advanced Search parameters. Once you have selected the items you want to download they will be added to the list to download and you can then use powerful Category and Attribute matching to cross-reference the remote Station's fields with your own. For example, during the import you might want to import any items that they have classified as Category "Pop" into your own Type "Pop/Rock". You can also Add Attributes that should be set on every item imported - for example, you could Tag every item that is downloaded with a "Needs reviewing" Tag so you can easily find the items later for review.
- In the Database Settings window, the settings for the audio format when working remotely, preview duration etc. have all moved to the Database Connections tab adjacent to the options for Search results.
Media Import:
- Import Wizard: The Import Wizard has been given a significant face lift giving a cleaner, easier look and feel, as well as adding in several key improvements and performance enhancements, including better support for XLSX files and other changes as listed below.
- Import Wizard: The Import Wizard now supports multiple Tag columns, as well as the existing support for multiple Tags within a single column when reading a list from a file.
- CSV file handling has been update to streamline the process and allow for adding
additional fields in future. You can also now import a secondary category that has the column title "Category 2" or "Category2".
- I Like Music: As well as the existing support for reading
metadata from ILM CSV and Scisys XML files, Myriad can now read data from ILM's
own XML format.
Media Editing/ MediaWall settings:
- Characteristics: All Characteristics (Energy/Tempo/Texture/Mood/Burnout) can now have unique colours for each value. Default colours have been assigned for all existing Characteristics, and you can easily update these through the normal Categories and Attributes window.
- Media Library: The Media Library now shows Characteristics using this colour as a filled block to represent the Energy/Tempo etc. making it much easier to see which songs are higher temp/mood etc. compared to each other.
- Media Editor: With the additional information now available for each Media Item, the Media Editor has been rearranged to make the most commonly used fields more visible. Several key fields (such as Year, External Reference, Album etc.) have moved from the Other tab to a new combined Info/Notes tab. The Other tab has also been rearranged and broken up into sections to make it easier to see the different types of information available.
- Media Editor: By default, the Media Editor now shows a small preview of the item in the top right hand corner allowing you to see how it will look. You can turn this off on the new Preferences ribbon, which will also restore the title/artist text boxes to being filled with any selected Custom Colour for that Media Item.
- Copying a Media Item: Copying an existing Song or Link Item now automatically clears any "Can be scheduled" so that the destination item doesn't unexpectedly go into schedule rotation.
- Custom Media Fields: You can now change the captions for the Media Fields that are shown on the "Other" tab in the Media Editor and Mass Changer windows. You can also set the field type to choose between Text, Integer, Number and Boolean and the editor will change to show an appropriate display. You can change these via the new Custom Fields tab in Database Settings where you can also add or remove any other additional Custom fields to be displayed. You must have a minimum of 6 fields, but you can add as many additional fields as you like. The Custom Media Fields are also available via Myriad OCP so can be included in the metadata information sent to other systems.
- Custom Copyright Fields: You can now change the captions for the 4 Custom Copyright Fields via the new Custom Fields tab in the Database Settings window.
- Media Editor Image Search: The legacy option to search the internet for images has now been removed as you can now paste images directly into the editor instead.
Media Preview/Players:
- Waveform Progress: Both the Media Players and the Media Preview views have a new "Show progress on waveform" option that changes the waveform display to illuminate across the display as the player plays the item. These settings are in the Layout Editor
- Titling information display: The Media Players have a new option to "Overlay the titling information over the waveform" - by default this is turned on to show the Title/Artist information on top of the waveform as before, but if you turn this off then the waveform is moved down out of the way of the titling information so it's easier to read. This is particularly useful if you have turned on the "Show progress"... option detailed above. These settings are in the Layout Editor
- The Customise option "Only allow the media item to be closed if it isn't actively playing" now also applies to the Mini Media Players view. Turning this option off now shows options to recue/eject an item from the player even while playing.
- There is a new Player Order option for "Triggered item" - this sets which players should be used to play items that are being played due to trigger timing set on other Media Items - for example audio that is played automatically over the top of a bed.
Scheduled Log:
- Log View: The right click menus have been rearranged to bring the most common actions to the top of the menu including new larger "Add Item" buttons right at the top of the menu.
- Log View: The Log reports have been moved to their own dedicated tab on the ribbon to simplify the other tabs.
- Log View: There is a new option to "Show the Item's Media External Reference" which will then show the Media External Reference instead of the Media ID.
- Log Playback: Clicking the button to refresh the Log timing now also requests any updated timing for any Split Break or Split Group items from any connected Myriad Split Stations, rather than waiting for the next periodic update.
Scheduling the Log:
- The Schedule Log window has had a significant overhaul with new progress bars for each stage of the process, a new ribbon at the top to bring together all the new Schedule/Unschedule options, as well as a much improved Preset system.
- Myriad Schedule Pro users will also find the Pass Order editing has been significantly updated and you can now just drag and drop to change the Pass Order.
- You can now cancel the Schedule, Advert Schedule and Send Logs processes. As a cautionary note, cancelling the process does not 'undo' any changes or logs that have already been performed, so for example, you will end up with partially scheduled logs if you cancel in the middle of the scheduling process.
Advert/Spots:
- Advert/Spot Scheduler: If you have multiple Stations in your Database and are using the option to share the Categories across all Stations. there is a new option that allows you to have totally different Advert Scheduling patterns for each Station. This makes it incredibly easy to use a single Database to schedule using the same music but with entirely different advert loads - for example a Station that broadcasts to multiple locations using a similar station sound/format but needs to run different adverts in each location.
- USA Stations: Stations in the USA will now see the term "Spot" used across the majority of Myriad instead of the word 'Advert'. There are still a few small areas that have not yet been updated but these will be updated in future releases.
Main and Advert/Spot Log Import and Advert Reconciliation:
- You can now import Logfiles directly from a Dropbox account, and any Advert Rec files will automatically be written back to the original Dropbox location. This applies to adverts played from the main Scheduled Log and also Split Stations.
- Important Note: Any external remote changes to the advert log files will not be automatically re-imported into Myriad so you will need to use the menu options to re-import the ad logs if your traffic team lets you know that there are updated files to import.
Clock Editor:
- Editing Media Items and AutoHooks now show a Search button next to the Browse button making it much easier to locate items you don't know the specific Media Id for.
- When you click "New Clock" to create a new clock you are now prompted which type of Clock you want to create (Goal/Simple vs Advanced) and you can optionally ask it to automatically populate the Clock with Songs, Links and Advert Breaks. These choices are remembered for next time you add a new clock making it much easier to create multiple clocks rapidly.
Media Report/Library/Item Histories:
- You can now use the Advanced Search to search for items that have/don't have Bound items, also for items that have/don't have Throw Depths and Follow Attributes.
- Presets: There is a new Search Presets tab on the Media Report Window ribbon and also the Media Library View that allows you to easily load, save and delete search criteria. This is ideal for quickly being able to bring up regularly searched for items, saving you from having to re-enter the same criteria regularly. Both areas have their own lists of Presets so you can tailor those used in Reporting separately from those used in the studio via the Media Library view.
- Column adjustments: There is a new Columns button on the ribbon that lets you choose which columns to show/hide. The way that column widths and ordering has also been updated to be more reliable.
- Item Histories: There is a new button on the Item History window that lets you choose to include items in the Scheduled Log that were soft deleted/dropped.
- Media Statistics Report: The Media Statistics report has had a huge overhaul and now shows you the breakdown of information graphically, including pie charts that include the ability to select pie segments to drill further into information. The older detailed Media Statistics report is then available as a button on the new graphical statistics window to examine your MediaWall even further.
- Media Library: Media Custom Fields have been added to the search results grid, including the new Columns visibility preferences.
Play Logs/Copyright Reports:
- Play Logs: The Play Logs report window has been updated to make it much easier to quickly filter which Item Types you are wanting to see Play logs for.
- Copyright Reports: Myriad can now export a CSV file in a format compatible with the Australian PPCA organisation. You will see "Australia - PPCA Transmission Log" in the available formats dropdown.
Categories, Attributes and Characteristic Management:
- The Categories and Attributes window now has several new options to easily import large number of Category/Attribute or Characteristic names from Excel spreadsheets, CSV or even plain Text files. For an example Excel spreadsheet please see this help article.
Replication:
- Media Replication: The algorithm used to determine the list of Media Items to replicate when using the option to only replicate items that have changed since the last time replication run has been significantly updated to improve performance, particularly on large databases that many separate replication groups. This requires the replication partner to also be running Myriad Remote Edit Server v6.8 or higher.
- Scheduled Task: The Replication Task now has a Database Connection dropdown so you can choose which Connection to use for the replication. You configure these Connections in the Database Settings window on the Connections tab.
Scheduled Tasks:
- Log Mixdown: You can now insert tags into the destination filename - for example including the date/time in the current filename.
Split Advert Breaks:
- If you are using the option to Import Advert Logs using External References, but the media item has not been created yet when the advert log is first loaded, then Myriad will now automatically attempt to cross reference with the MediaWall each time the break is loaded. This happens when the break display is being updated and also when the break is cued for playout. This means you no longer need to re-load the advert logs after loading in Media Items for adverts that hadn't yet been created when the logs were loaded. Note, for this feature to work you MUST have turned on the Database Settings option "Each External Reference must be unique ..." on the MediaWall tab.
- There are new options on the Layout Editor to turn on/off displaying the Media ID and Media External Reference information.
Upgrade Utility:
- Myriad Playout 4: The Myriad Playout v4 upgrade process has been improved so you no longer need to have v4 installed on the computer you are using to run the upgrade process. For more information, please see the dedicated version history file for the Upgrade Utility.
- PlayIt Live Support: You can now import directly from a PlayIt Live database. For more information, please see the dedicated version history file for the Upgrade Utility.
Wheatstone Mixer support:
- There are 4 new additional SLIO channels available Application Settings on to the Mixer Connections tab.
- Log is active SLIO number: This line will be activated when the Log is "Active" (i.e. in Live or AutoFade mode), and will be off when the log is in Standby mode.
- Log is active but stopped SLIO number (Status): This line will be activated when the Log is Active but stopped waiting for GO to be pressed.
- Request/Release On-Air Control SLIO number: When this SLIO line is activated by the Wheatstone ecosystem it tells Myriad to start requesting On-Air Control, and when the SLIO line deactivates Myriad will then release/stop requesting On-Air Control.
- Is On-Air Controller SLIO number (Status): This line will be activated when the computer has On-Air Control.
Hardware Lines:
- The Hardware line Status "Log is active but stopped" has changed so it's now only SET when the log is "Active" (i.e. in Live or AutoFade mode).
- There is a new "Log is active but stopped with flash" option that replicates the older functionality of being SET when the log is stopped waiting for go with a brief flash period after the current item reaches it's end.
- If you were previously using the Log Is Active option then you should review and see if the new "... with flash" option better suits your use case.
Version History display:
- System administrators can now control if the Version History information should be automatically displayed on startup the first time Myriad is loaded after an update. For more information, please see this help article.
Multiple Profiles, Diagnostic Logging and the Emergency Configuration tool:
- You can now show a custom image on the Select Profile window. For more information about how to configure these, please see this help article.
- In the Application Settings window on the Advanced tab, there is a new setting for Diagnostic Logs to 'Write the logs asynchronously...' that significantly reduces the impact of creating Diagnostic log files. Diagnostic Logging options should only be used when directed to by Broadcast Radio Technical Support.
- The Emergency Configuration tool has been changed so it requires 'elevated' administrator privileges so it can only be run by a user with Windows Administration permissions.
The following issues have been fixed:
- Media Grid Replace Audio: Selecting to replace the audio for a Media Item but then cancelling out of the process would leave a progress bar stuck in the right hand progress column and you couldn't close Myriad.
- Media Editor on very narrow screens: Opening the Media editor on a display of 1080 wide would not show the options on the right hand side. You can now size the window down to 1080 pixels wide and still access almost all settings, however stations that have configured ALL Characteristics may still find that the last 2 options are unavailable visually on very compact displays.
- Media Editor: Inserting from another Media Item would not work if that Media Item was stored as an Opus format file.
- Media Import: Importing a legacy Myriad v4 (or earlier) audio file that had an adjacent .lst file would display an error if the file was only available for read-only access.
- Media Import Wizard: Importing a very large number of items could cause a slow but constant rise in memory usage which could result in Myriad exiting if the memory use climbed too high.
- Bound Media Items: Exporting a Media Item to a transport file was not exporting the Bound item information. Also, replicating the item to/from a remote site was also not replicating the Bound item information.
- Rotating Media Items: Rotating items would sometimes play the same item twice in a row when skipping over an item that has start/end date restrictions.
- Advanced Media Searching: The Types/Genders/Eras etc. were not being sorted alphabetically if that option is turned on in Database Settings.
- Log Display: If you have the ‘Use large font display…’ option turned on, then the Start Time for each Log Item was not showing correctly.
- Log Playback: If you have turned on the Application Setting to force Myriad to always play the Scheduled log in AutoFade mode, then only the first hour would have the Log mode changed to AutoFade, subsequent hours would play in AutoFade mode BUT the log would not be updated to reflect the forced mode.
- Split Stations and SmartTransfer: Transferring On Air Control between 2 studios that are connected to a separate computer running Myriad Playout for Split Stations would sometimes not fully take control resulting in on-air information not being sent onwards to OCP and other connected destinations.
- Split Logs: Show Title information was not always being sent correctly to connected Splits, especially if they were reconnecting, and the Show Information was being wrongly cleared when putting the Log into Standby.
- Deck Viewer: The Categories were also not being sorted alphabetically.
- Clock Editing: Categories,Types, Genders and Eras were also not sorted alphabetically.
- Simulcast Import: Simulcast Log Location overrides set per-clock were not always being honoured.
- Log Import Clocks: After importing a full hour via Log Import Clock, right-clicking on the Hour Start and choosing the option open the Clock would not open the correct clock.
- Emergency Scheduling: Emergency Scheduling would not include Virtual Categories and Simulcast Categories in the Pass Order if you have never saved a Default Scheduling Preset.
- Advert Log Scheduling: Exported advert log files were not honouring the options to use UTC time stamps and using External Media Reference.
- Split Advert Breaks: The Reconciliation files were not being written correctly if you are using the option to use External Media References.
- Upgrading from Myriad Playout v4: Upgrading would fail due to a problem adding some of the new database structure to the older v4 User and Security Directory database.
- Myriad Playout Backup: A retry with a delay feature has been added to Myriad Playout Backup so error notifications are not sent if a transient error occurs, e.g. a network or server error that rectifies itself some seconds later. These options can be configured for each destination type on the Backup Destination settings window.
v6.7.5 September 2025
The following issues have been fixed:
- Scheduled Log Import: Myriad would show an error message and fail to import a log if the log file had 1 or more items missing the Media ID, or if the Log Import is set to use External References, if there was no Media ID with that External Reference set.
v6.7.4 19th August 2025
The following issues have been fixed:
- SmartInfo: SmartInfo was not correctly identifying itself itself to Wikipedia so requests for page information were being rejected once Wikipedia started enforcing tighter limits on use of their platform.
- Importing Media items: Myriad could import invalid total file durations from embedded Cart Chunk data in some cases, even if this duration was longer than the actual audio file being imported.
- Import Wizard: Any "Ending" type information was not being imported.
- Media Report Mass Export of Media Items: This was wrongly exporting the exact same audio for each exported item.
- Midi controllers: The KORG nanoKONTROL was not being correctly detected on Windows 11 due to changes in the KORG branding.
v6.7.3 16th July 2025
New Features/Changes:
Media Editing/Media Preview:
- The Loop editing options have been rearranged to reduce clutter.
Media Players:
- Media ID: There is a new option in the Customise Personal Preferences window to show/hide the Media Id in the Media Player views.
- Album Title: The Album Title information is now displayed if you have turned on the Database Setting option to "Show the Album Title prominently..."
Dashboard View:
- Layout Editor: There is a new "Interactive mode" option in the Layout settings for the Dashboard View that allows you to turn off all user interaction on the Dashboard - unchecking this box will hide the Log Change Mode, GO and Play/Pause buttons as well as also hiding the dump/cue etc. buttons.
Log Display/Playback:
- The way that Log estimated start times are calculated has been updated to be significantly faster, particularly on slower servers or network connections.
Media Engine Settings:
- The options on the Playback Settings tab have been updated to clarify when each option applies.
Split Station:
- Split Groups: When a Split Station plays a Split Group set to play Swept, the Now Playing information for that Split Group is now no longer sent to OCP. Split Groups set to non-swept will still be sent IF the option to send "Links" Now Playing information is set in the Split Station's Station Settings.
The following issues have been fixed:
- Media Editor/Media Preview: Fixed several issues with setting Loops including wrongly being able to set loops outside of the Media Start/End time positions.
- Media Players: If you have turned on the option to show the Media pictures in the players, they would not also show when dragged into the players.
- Audio Playback: Rolled back to a slightly older version of the SMX engine to resolve an issue where time stretching being enabled would sometimes result in Myriad closing with an Access Violation error in a third party dll.
- Log Playback: Myriad would wrongly play sweepers that have an Overall Start set 'dry' before the following Song instead of during the intro.
- Log Timing: Split groups set to play as sweepers were not being correctly accounted for in the estimated start times when the times for an hour was being calculated
- Clock Editor: Opening the clock editor could cause Myriad to exit if you have turned on the option to sort Categories alphabetically and also have some deleted category information still set in the clock category weightings.
- Audio Monitor View: The Audio Monitor view was wrongly displaying some notification settings that are not available when used within Myriad.
- Show information for Split Stations: Show Information such as Show Name and Title was not correctly propogating to some Split Stations.
- Split Groups: Split Groups were sending their Now Playing information to OCP even if the option to send Link Now Playing information was turned off. This could also result in future Now Playing updates not being sent through to OCP until the next Advert break.
v6.7.2 10th June 2025
New Features/Changes:
Media Playback:
- Preview Mode: When you drop a media item into a player that is already in Preview mode, the player now remains in Preview mode making it easier to review multiple items. Once you eject an item from the player it will then return to non-preview mode as normal. This also means that players set to only be visible when playing a Preview item will also remain visible when you drag another item into that player.
- Player Item Commands with List Players: The Player.xxxItem commands now work with members of List Media Items. The following commands can be used to control items that being played as members of a list in a Media a player:
Players.CloseItem Players.PauseItem Players.CueItem Players.PlayPauseItem Players.FadeOutItem Players.FadeToItem
- Important: These commands will only work on list players with the built-in Media engine - they will not work if you are using the Media Engine Host application or when running with Myriad Cloud Native.
- Media Lists: There is a new option on Media Lists set to play the entire list "Only play if ALL list members can be played" will only play the list if every member of the list (and any sub-lists) are valid and can be played.
Media Editing/Media Preview:
- When previewing a waveform in the Editor or the Media Preview view, right-clicking within the waveform now plays the waveform from the current mouse cursor position and moving the mouse will "scrub" around within the audio. Releasing the right mousebutton will then stop playing and the cursor will move to the location you right clicked.
- When previewing a waveform in the Editor or the Media Preview view, holding down the Shift key will move the end of the current selection instead of the start allowing you to easily adjust the end of a selection.
- Holding down both the left and right mouse buttons will allow you to easily select a range while previewing the 'end' of the position you have selected.
- Loop editing: The loop editors now have 2 additional buttons allowing you to easily set the start or end to the current cursor position for precise location adjustment.
- Media Preview View: The Loop editor now has a button that will crop off all audio to the left of the currently marked Loop section.
Split Groups:
- The per-station Scheduling Hour Restrictions grids are now honoured when playing Split Groups. This also applies to any Media List members on Rotate/Random/Media List items.
- For example, you might have a Split Group called "Station ID" that has Media ID 1 assigned to it. Media Id 1 is actually a Rotating Media List that has 3 items in the list - Media items 11,12 and 13. Media 11 is a Station Id that is only suitable to play during weekday mornings, so you set it's Scheduling Hour Restrictions to only allow it during weekday mornings. Media 12 is only suitable for weekday afternoons, so it's grid is set to only allow it during the afternoons, and Media 13 is suitable for all week+weekend. Each time you trigger Split Group 1, it will remove any items that are not valid and then rotate (or random) through the remaining items. So, if you were to play it at 10am on a Wednesday morning, item 12 is not allowed so is skipped, but item 11 and 13 are both valid, so those will play in rotation each time you play that group.
Audio Monitor View:
- This has been updated with the latest changes based on the Audio Monitor application.
- The detailed settings window for the Audio Monitor View are now available in German and Norwegian.
User Security changes:
- If you have enabled the options to check a User's login credentials against an Active Directory or LDAP server but some of your users are still relying on the "fallback" to then checking against the "local" password stored in the Myriad Security Database then that password must now be set to a valid value, blank passwords are no longer supported for AD/LDAP integrated accounts.
The following issues have been fixed:
- Audio Playback: Opus audio files would have a regular audio glitch every 1 second for some users.
- Audio Playback: Audio would skip and play back too fast on some multichannel devices for example 7.1 channel devices like the Aureon XFIRE.
- Media Preview View: Clicking the button on a Media Player to send the currently playing item to the Media Preview view would not show any existing timing customisations that have already been applied to the item in the player.
- Media Import: Importing an audio file into a MediaWall set to store using mp3 format would not display an error and fail to import.
- Log Playback: The Estimated Start times for the next few items was not being correctly updated and sent on to OCP when a new item starts playing.
- Log Display: The expected duration of Media Lists in the scheduled log was not being calculated correctly if any of the members in the list had Overall Start times and if the list contained sublists that contained date limited media items.
- User History: Searching the User history using the Notes filter as well as other filters would ignore the other filters and return all items that matches the Notes filter.
- Replication: Replication was not checking the correct Station Enabler at the remote station if you are using Station References to map different Station IDs at each site.
- User Replication: User replication was not cross referencing per-user Station Allowed Hour" information using Station References to map different Station IDs at each site.
- Station Rules Replication: Duplicate Station Rules could be created if there was a discrepancy between which Station Rules were set as the default.
- Audio Monitor View: The Audio Monitor view was wrongly displaying the options to show VU levels from output devices. This feature does not work within Myriad so you need to use the standalone Audio Monitor application if you want to use VU data from output devices.
- HTML Display View: Logging out of Myriad or changing Layouts could have a long delay if you had never switched to the tab containing an HTML Display View.
v6.7.1 19th May 2025
New Features/Changes:
Station Replication:
- Station Replication has had a significant overhaul to add in support for mapping Local Stations to different Remote Stations.
- Previously the Local and Remote Stations had to have the same Station ID number i.e Station 1 would replicate with Station 1. This meant that both replication partners had to have the same number of stations in the same order.
- Stations now have a "Station Reference" which is a string that is used to "map" local stations to remote stations. For example, Station ID 4 at the local end might have the Station Reference of "HotFM", whilst at the Remote Station, that Reference is assigned to Station 0 because that database only has a single station. This is particularly useful for stations that have backup playout systems at remote sites, or are using Myriad Cloud in a Hybrid or Backup configuration.
- You can edit the Station Reference in the Database Settings window on the Stations tab and clicking the button on the station to edit the Station details/features.
- Station References are now used during replication of any items that use Station specific information to ensure that both ends of the replication understand how to correctly store matching information:
- Station Attributes - i.e. Categories, Types, Genders, Eras, Moods, Tags, Energy/Tempo etc.
- Media Item Categorisation/Hour Restrictions - for example this media item is assigned to the Pop category in the "HotFM" station so should be in that Category in Station 4 locally and in that Category in Station 0 at the remote station.
- Station Settings including all settings except for Remote Connections (e.g. OCP/Encoder connections)
- Clocks and Clock Assignments
- Station Rules
- Scheduled Log
- Due to these changes, Replication now requires both Local and Remote stations to be running v6.7 or higher, so you will need to ensure that Remote Edit Server is updated at your remote location.
User and Security Replication:
- You can now replicate your User database with a remote station, either fully automatically or manually via the Replication Window. This new feature is ideal for stations running with multiple sites, or hybrid cloud stations that run both On-Premise Myriad Playout as well as Myriad Cloud. Using this feature means you only need to enter your Users once and they will automatically be created in the remote database. Future changes can then be made on either side, including password changes, and these will be replicated during the next replication cycle. This feature only replicates Users, Security Groups and Categories. It does not replicate User Preferences.
- There are 2 new options on the Replication Window to replicate User Security Database Settings and the Users (including Categories and Security Groups) between your local database and a remote station via it's Remote Edit Server. Both replication partners must be running v6.7.1 or higher.
- There are also 2 new matching options on the Replication Task window to allow to you to automatically replicate your users.
- There is a new option on the User Security database settings window to turn on the additional features required to support User replication. This setting will be automatically turned on for you if you have already enabled Replication for your main Myriad Database.
- Note: If you are using Myriad Cloud, then you will need to change your security settings to allow users to sign in with their Myriad Accounts. You can find full details on how to do this in this help article https://broadrad.com/mcsso
- The Delete Media Item Myriad Task now has the option to read items to delete from a text file, one per line. The Task settings has options to select the file, and specify whether each line in the file is a Media ID, or an External Reference on a Media Item.
Media Editor, Wizard, Library and Report
- When the editor is open in Full edit mode, there is a new "Duck" tool that allows you to easily duck the selected section of the waveform including a fade down and up ramp, as well as automatically setting the extro to the selected point. For example, you might want to permanently duck the audio of a Bed so that the start of the bed is full volume, then fast ramps down by 12dB, then the remainded of the bed runs at that lower level, before then returning the level back to full.
- There is a new Preference option on the Edit ribbon "Spacebar Toggles Play/Pause" which changes Myriad to toggle between Play/Pause instead of Play/Stop when working in the waveform area.
- The Import Wizard has been updated to be able to read Excel "xlsx" files without needing Microsoft Excel installed on the computer.
- Exporting a CSV file from the Media Report now includes the External Reference field.
- The Import Wizard has new options to allow or inhibit Scheduling for the items being imported. These options can be set only if the current Myriad Database is not using per-Station Attributes and the current user has the Station permission to change Media Items' Scheduling.
- Media Library/Report: If you have turned on the Database Settings to always show the External Reference then the Media Library view and the Media Report window now show the External Reference search field next to the Media ID field. The option to show/hide the External Reference column in the results is also now hidden if that Database setting is turned on.
Scheduled Log:
- You can now easily copy a specific Hour to another hour in the same Station or to a separate Station, this Copy Hour option is on the right click menu on Hour Start log items under the "Export/Replicate/Copy" menu option and works the same way as the existing
Log.CopyHour Command
Accessibility:
- The following areas also now use the "Use Large Font where available" option in the Customise window:
- Scripts in the Live Reads Script window are now shown larger
- SmartInfo now shows Wikipedia and Weather information using a larger font.
- SongFacts do not currently show in a larger font but we hope this will be available in a future release.
Scheduler:
- FTP passwords for Log File locations and Simulcast Import locations are now stored securely for new and edited Clocks and Station Settings.
AI Voice Links:
- ElevenLabs: There are several powerful new ElevenLabs settings - you can now set the Speed, Stability, Similarity, Style Exaggeration and Speaker Boost giving you full control over the voice generation. These can be set as the Station Settings OR per Voice Link. For more information about these settings please see https://broadrad.com/elDocs
- ChatGPT script creation: There is a new option in the Station Settings window on the AI VoiceLinks tab to "Ask GPT to create the script in this specific language" - this makes it very easy for users in non-english speaking countries to request GPT to create the script using their own language.
- There is a new button on the Edit AI VoiceLink window that copies the Station Default GPT Style Keywords into the VoiceLink specific Keywords to allow you to easily copy and override the keywords on a per-link basis.
Myriad Tasks:
- There is a new Export Media Task that allows you to automatically export a specific media item as an audio file or a transport file. You can also specify the audio format to use for the export.
- There is a new Monitor Media Items task that will check a list of Media Items and send you a notification if one or more have not been updated recently. For example you might want to recieve a notification if you have not recieved an updated News Bulletin for several hours.
- The Delete Media Task can now check a text file for a list of Media Items to delete. You also specify a media range that the Media IDs must be within, and any Media IDs in the file not within that range will not be deleted.#
- The Replication Task now creates a text log in the Logs\Replication folder for each replication task that runs.
- There is a new option on the Database Maintenance Task that will check to make sure the database has a SQL MASTER KEY. If the key is missing it will be recreated. This option is on by default but can be turned off in the Task Settings.
Station Management:
-
Station Deletion: You can now Delete an unused Station from the Database by going into the Database Settings window, then the Stations tab and clicking the Station Details/Feature button on the Station you want to delete.
- Important: This is a permanent deletion and CANNOT be undone. Before using this feature you should make sure you have a full backup of your database in case you need to revert the change.
- When you delete a Station this will delete all the Station information and settings as well as the following information for that Station:
- All the Media Item Categories and Attributes for that station (e.g. what Category/Tags etc. a Song has)
- All Advert scheduling information.
- All the Categories and Attributes for that Station.
- All Clocks, Clock Assignments and Station Rules.
- The Scheduled Log and Log history.
- OCP Outputs
- Station Enabler code.
- Other Station related information will also be removed, however you will need to review all Commands and Myriad Tasks to check if they are using that Station.
- You cannot Delete the first station (Station ID 0) as that must always exist within a Myriad Database.
- There is a new option that allows you to control if a Station is shown in the Select Station window. This setting is available by going into the Database Settings window, then the Stations tab and click on the Station Details/Feature button on the Station you want to show/hide.
- The Setup Wizard now offers the option to login to your Broadcast.Radio account to automatically download your Station Name and other details during setup.
Replication Settings:
- The Replication Settings in the Database Settings window have moved from the bottom of the General tab to a new dedicated Database Connections tab.
Mixer/Midi Connections:
- Added experimental support for the D&R Auron mixer. At the time of testing the Auron still has several niggles that will be addressed in a future D&R Firmware update so you should check with D&R directly to ensure your mixer is fully up to date.
- Added support for the Behringer X-Touch Compact USB midi controller. This controller uses the button at the bottom of the fader to Play/Pause the item in that player, and the button at the top is used to indicate/toggle if the player is in Preview m
- Wheatstone Mixer Support: You can now assign SLIO mappings for the Log GO and Log DUMP features so you can use panel buttons on your mixer to trigger Log playback/dump
SmartInfo View:
- NPRA Norway Traffic Service: You can now show Traffic events from the National Public Roads Administration Norway service. You will need to register with the service to recieve a Username and Password
- NRK weather service: You can now select a "Land" area for the YR Weather service which will then show you the text weather forecast for the selected area.
- Weather: You can now set SmartInfo to read the weather from an "RSS weather feed".
- Custom Tab: You can now add a "Custom Tab" to the SmartInfo display that can be set to show the contents of an RSS feed. This setting is in the Station Settings window on the SmartInfo tab. There are currently 2 available options for this feed "RSS Feed" and "RSS News Feed". Currently the only difference is that the Tab header will show a News icon for the latter.
Media Preview View:
- There are a new set of options in the Layout Editor to Show/Hide individual Media Item Timing points - for example you might want to hide the Hook timing points if you never use them.
Media Players/View:
- There is a set of new options in the Layout Editor to show a highlight border around each player when it's actively playing, the colour to use for that border and how thick it should be.
- There are 2 new Players commands:
Players.MuteAllPlayers and Players.UnMuteAllPlayers commands that allow you to persistently override all players and mute them for the current and future media items until unmuted. Both commands take a fade duration parameter allowing you to control how quickly the mute and unmute is applied.
- Myriad has been updated to the latest version of the Broadcast Radio SmoothStream playback engine. This brings significant performance improvements on modern computers with a higher number of logical CPU cores.
AutoPlayer Playlists:
- You can now delete playlists from the Playlists list rather than needing to remove the playlist files manually from the saved folder.
The following issues have been fixed:
- Media Processing: The Normalise Media Process would not remove any existing custom gain adjustment on a media item if the gain check determined that the item should no longer have a custom gain.
- Media Replication: Replicating very large media items could use a large amount of memory while the audio was being download from the remote site.
- Media Replication: Deleting an individual item would not always be replicated in complex multi-replication partner scenarios.
- Media Import: The last Now Playing item imported from a .cue file did not have its end time set correctly.
- Media Playback: In very rare circumstances on heavily loaded computers/VMs, Myriad could exit at the end of an audio item with a Set Volume error.
- Log Editing: Manually inserting an advert into an existing advert break would result in the advert break being split into 2 unscheduled breaks if the adverts were re-scheduled.
- Log Playback: If a sweeper or AI VoiceLink was due to play dry before the incoming song, the song would often still wrongly be ducked by half a second at the beginning.
- Log Playback On-Air Control: Myriad would not correctly change fully into AutoFade mode if you recieved On-Air Control AFTER the log had started until the start of the next hour.
- Myriad Schedule: Virtual Category options were being displayed even if you had not yet turned on the "Enhanced Scheduling" feature option in Database Settings.
- Schedule Replication: You could not upload changes to the local default Clock Assignment set to the remote station if it was set to use a different set as the Default.
- Cue Sheets: Exporting out a Cue sheet for a media item that is more than an hour long was not correctly listing the time position of items after the 60 minute mark.
- User Summary Report: Sorting by the Last Login column was not sorting correctly.
- Top 100 Most Played Report: Items filtered by Tag would only show correctly if the selected Tag was the first selected Tag on the Media Item.
- Audio Monitor View: The Audio Monitor was incorrectly duplicating the left channel level onto the right channel when using an "Audio output Loopback" device.
- Playout Backup: The Backup application could sometimes try to backup a Media File with insufficient information, then fail, then report many errors to telemetry reporting.
v6.6.4
New Features/Changes:
DHD Mixer Support:
- Due to limitations with the way DHD sends event information to connected systems Myriad has been changed to look for "Channel ON/OFF" to start/stop the Media Players instead of where it previously looked for Fader Start information. You should therefore check your DHD console settings for each Fader Channel and consider turning ON "Auto On" and "Auto Off" and turning off "On Start".
- There is a new setting in Application Settings that allows you to tell Myriad to ignore any button presses from the DHD console when Myriad is in AutoFade mode.
Hardware Lines:
- You can now add multiple Line Actions to the same Hardware Line and Myriad will trigger those even if the reason for that change is due to one of the other lines. For example, if you add a Hardware Line to show a Players "Playing" status, you can add another Action Line with that same line number to do execute a command using the Command Processor.
The following issues have been fixed:
- Media Editor: Myriad could exit when opening the Media Editor if the clipboard contained some types of unsupported images.
v6.6.3 12th March 2025
New Features/Changes:
Media Editing/Media Preview:
- Media Editor 'Scrubbing' in Preview mode: Myriad now automatically starts playing the preview audio when you right click to "scrub" around the audio within the waveform display.
Media Import:
- Per-File CSV import: Myriad now checks for several additional fields and column names when checking for a CSV file next to the audio file. The column names are not case sensitive, and are all optional:
- Title will be filled from any column titled: "Title", "Song Title", "Item Title", "ItemTitle", "songtitle"
- Display As: "displayas" or "Display As"

Log Import:
- Added additional FTP handling for certain implementations of FTPS port 990 "Implicit" encryption.
HTML Display View:
You can now drag drop a media item from a webpage into any area of Myriad that accepts dropped media items, for example, the Media Players, Pad and Scheduled Log. Your webpage must set the dragged content's web link (aka 'UniformResourceLocator') to contain any valid URL with a mediaId parameter set to the Media Id number of the media item. For example:
- myriad://fakeurl.fakewebsite.com?MediaId=1234 - dropping this into a player will cue media item 1234 into that player.
The following issues have been fixed:
- Advert Scheduling: Fixed a problem where re-scheduing the adverts for a day where users have manually added one or more adverts to the sschedule log would prevent scheduling and show an error message.
- Log Display: Changing the mode from AutoFade to Live would not clear any red "trimmed" timing information from the Log View until the next segue, or you manually hit the Refresh button.
- Log Import: Adding a port number to an FTP server for Log import would not show the example import filename correctly in the Station Settings window.
- Meteorologisk institutt og NRK: Fixed a problem where the weather was not correctly read if the Windows Regional Settings were set to non-english.
- AI VoiceLinks: Editing an AI Voice Link in the Clock Editor or the scheduled Log could fail to save the details if the "Presentation Style Keywords" was set to a very long statement.
- Log Mixdown/Export: Exporting a log hour or part of an hour could fail if the hour contained some more complex segues.
- Mixcloud Upload Task: The setting to upload the track list to Mixcloud was not saving correctly.
v6.6.2 11th February 2025
New Features/Changes:
Segue Editor View:
- When opening a segue in the Segue Editor with a non-swept Link item in the middle, clicking the yellow "plus" button to change that item to be swept now ALSO changes the end of the previous item in the log to "Auto" so it plays the 3 items in a row without stopping, honouring the sweeper position.
- There is a new option in Station Settings on the Segue-Editor tab "Allow users to record new voice links between two locked log items" that will let users record new voice links between 2 locked log items.
Log Playback:
- The algorithm used to choose which random item from a Random Media List has been updated to ensure that it plays the same item when you Preview the log item as it will when the log item is played. It's also been updated to add more randomness to media items that are reused in the same log position each hour - for example an Hour Opener random item that is always the first item in each hour. Previously it was much more likely to choose the same random item each hour in this scenario.
Media Playback:
- There is a new setting in Application Settings on the Options tab under a new When playing items manually section: "Automatically eject Songs from the players when they finish". This option is ON by default so any manually played songs are automatically ejected from the players as with previous versions of Myriad. However, if you turn this option OFF and restart Myriad, any songs manually dragged into the players from the MediaWall, Favourites, Commands or Linked Items will instead remain in the players at the end allowing live presenters to read the information on-air before then manually ejecting the song and moving on. Any songs played from the Scheduled Log will still always be automatically ejected.
- There is a new option "Only allow a media item to be dropped into a player if that player it isn't already playing" in Customise Personal Preferences that allows you to control whether you can drag-drop a different media item into a player that is already playing.
- Media Preview: If you make soft-changes to a Media Item before "sending" it to a player, the player now shows in icon in the top left corner highlighting that the item has been changed from it's original version.
- Media Preview: There is a new "Send Hook to Player" button on the Media Preview view.
Import Wizard:
- The Import Wizard has been updated to be able to read .XLSX files with newer versions of Microsoft Office components installed.
Media Library/Editor/Import:
- Media Library/Report Hour Restriction Searching: You can now search for all items that have/don't have any Hour Restrictions set. To use this filter, turn on Advanced Search mode and then set the Item Type as Song or Link, and then select the options on the Scheduling tab.
- Media Library/Report Advanced searcing: The Characteristics tab options are now only shown when you are searching specifically for Songs or Links.
- Media Editor Images: You can now easily add in an image by pasting from the windows clipboard - ideal for when you have edited the image using an external image editor, you can now just copy the image from that software and click to "paste" in the image into the Media Item.
- Media Editor 'Scrubbing' in Preview mode: You can now "scrub" around the audio within the waveform display by holding down the right mouse button and moving the mouse. Note that this is not available for Opus audio files. This feature is also available in the new Media Preview view.
- Media Editor 'Panning' view in Preview mode: You can now slide the zoomed in display by holding down the middle mouse button and moving the mouse left and right. This feature is also available in the new Media Preview view.
- Media Import: Added additional import support for very old format mp2 format files that do not expose their duration via the normal methods.
- Media Commands: There are 2 new Media Commands:
Media.ReadFirstNote This allows you to read the first note of a specifed type from a Media Item. For example, this will read the first Presenter note from media item 159:
var notes=Media.ReadFirstNote(-1,159,NotesTypeEnum.Presenter)
Media.WriteFirstNote This allows you to read the first note of a specifed type from a Media Item. For example, this will write the first Presenter note for media item 159:
var notes=Media.WriteFirstNote(-1,159,NotesTypeEnum.Presenter,"Some example notes text")
AI Voice Links:
- Creation Report: There is a new AI Voice Link Creation report available on the Reports menu that lets you see a breakdown of how many words and characters have been turned into Speech by AI Voice Links. This is very useful when cross referenced with the cost information from a Voice Link subscription services such as ElevenLabs.
HTML Display View:
There are now several more applinks, and the example file available on the Broadcast Radio Help portal has been updated to show examples of how to use them. You can also specify title, artist and itemType parameters for all of these commands to override the Title, Artist and Item Types
- myriad://Players/PlayFile - this link is used to play a specific file that is not stored within Myriad into a media player.
- myriad://Players/PlayFile?forcePlayerIndex=3&filename=c:\\testFiles\\TestFile.wav will play the TestFile.wav in player 3. The forcePlayerIndex is optional.
- You can also specify title, artist and itemType parameters:
- myriad://Players/PlayFile?title=%27Force%20This%20Title%27&artist=%27This%20Artist%27&itemType=Song&filename=c:\\testFiles\\TestFile.wav will play the TestFile.wav the first available Song player with the TItle "This Title" and the Artist Name "This Artist"
- myriad://Players/OpenFileInPreviewPlayer - this will open the file into the Media Preview player.
- myriad://Media/ImportPersonal?filename=c:\\testFiles\\TestFile.wav Imports the file into the first available personal media item.
- myriad://Media/Import?mediaId=4070&filename=c:\\testFiles\\TestFile.wav Imports the file into media item 4070. The user must have permissions to edit the specified media item.
- myriad://Media/ImportIntoRange?startMediaId=4080&endMediaId=4090&itemType=Advert&filename=c:\\testFiles\\TestFile.wav Imports the file into the first available item from Media ID 4080 to 4090 and forces the Item Type to be an advert. The user must have permission to edit the items in that range, as Myriad will not 'walk' the range to find the first one that the user CAN write to.
- myriad://Media/ImportIntoTypeRange?itemType=Song&filename=c:\\testFiles\\TestFile.wav Imports the file into the first available media item in the Song range.
User Security:
- The Guest account (which is disabled by default) and the Broadcast Radio Contact are now only created when you first create a new User Security database, so you can then delete these and they will not be recreated later. Note that AutoTrack SE might still recreate these due to backwards compatibilty requirements with AutoTrack v4, so if you require those 2 items to be removed permanently then you should look at migrating over to Myriad Schedule.
Wheatstone Mixer support:
- Myriad Playout now supports the Wheatstone mixers Audio Consoles as a Mixer type.
- To enable Wheatstone support, on the Settings menu, click Application Settings then change to the new Mixer Connections tab. In the dropdown list select Wheaststone and then enter the IP Address of the LOCAL ip address that your Wheatnet IP WDM driver is bound to on the pc that is running Myriad.
- Then in the list of SLIO mapping section, add a row for each Myriad Media Player and enter it's Player number in the left hand column and then enter the SLIO number for each feature that you have assigned in the WheatNet IP Navigator software.
The following issues have been fixed:
- Media Editing: Fixed an issue with some users still being able to select change the Can be Scheduled setting for a Media Item, even though they don't have the correct permissions to edit a Song/Link's schedulability.
- Log Playback: Items following sweeper items would not "un-duck" correctly when played up to the intro end, and sweepers played over songs that don't have an intro could wrongly reduce the volume of the incoming song for a brief period.
- Log Playback: Sweepers with long Overall Starts/Ends would result in the song being ducked for too long, and would not place correctly if you are using the Sweeper "play to intro end" setting.
- Log Editing: Changing the end type of the NEXT item to play to be a sweeper was not being reflected correctly in the Dashboard which would retain the previous chain type.
- Log Mixdown: Mixing down an hour to a file that had a vertical volume envelope line would not always mix the item in correctly, instead slowly ramping the audio level up to the end volume level.
- AI VoiceLinks: Fixed an issue where ElevenLabs voices with very long names could fail to render due to a filename length limit in the Windows temp folder.
- Import Wizard: The text "Artist" was not recognised as a valid column header when importing from Excel files.
v6.6.1 16th January 2025
New Features/Changes:
Layout Editor:
- There is an all new Layout Editor making it incredibly easy to alter the default layouts and also create your own layouts.
- The Layout Editor shows you the layout of Screens, Containers and Tiles, and shows changes in realtime as you edit them - for example, when editing a Clock, you will see the changes to it's position and settings (colour/ticks/date format etc.) in realtime.
- To edit, copy or delete the current layout or create a new one, click the Layouts menu and choose the Layout Editor menu option at the bottom of the menu. This option is only available to users with the Edit Application Settings security permission.
- The Import Layout option has now moved onto the new Layout Editor window.
New Media Preview View and Window
- You can now add a new "Media Preview" view to the Layout via the new Layout Editor. This is primarily aimed at stations who play media items direct from the Mediawall and want to be able to adjust the timings of items "on the fly" - for example removing a long intro from an album version of a song before playing it.
- The Media Preview view allows you to quickly listen to a media item and even make temporary adjustments to the intro/hook/extro and overall duration of the item before then sending it to a Media Player. Once the item is ejected from the Player the changes are discarded so the next time the same media item is loaded it will revert to the timings set in the normal Media Editor.
- To load an item into the Preview view, just drag in a Media item from anywhere in Myriad. Alternatively, you can right-click on a Media Player and open the item in the Player into the Media Preview view. There is also a new Player Control Hardware Line option to trigger sending the item from the specified player into the Media Preview view.
- You cannot use the Media Preview to alter the timings for items in the Scheduled log, but this feature may be added in a future release.
- If you have turned on the option to show the "player caption" bar on the Media Players (see below) then you can also turn on an option to show a button that will send the Media item in that player into the Media Preview view.
- A dedicated Media Preview Window can be opened from the View menu, or you can also show/hide/toggle the window from the new Media Preview Control hardware line options.
New HTML Display View:
- You can now add a new "Html Display" view to the Layout via the new Layout Editor. You can set the initial url to load, and also prevent users from navigating away from that url. There is also an option to automatically refresh that page periodically.
- This view is only designed to show lightweight webpages or very simple html - for example a lightweight web application showing weather or other media related information. It must NOT be used for general web browsing and such use is not supported.
- CAUTION: You should excercise extreme caution with using this new view. If it is used to display content that plays media then this will not play via the Myriad Media Players and therefore could play on-air. Also, the view could cause serious instability if used to display content that requires a lot of CPU of memory.
- Media Player control: There are several uri links that you can use within the html to control the Myriad Media Players:
- myriad://Players/PlayMediaItem - this link is used to play a specific Media item into a media player. For example myriad://Players/PlayMediaItem?mediaId=10001&forcePlayerIndex=3 will play media item 10001 in player 3. The forcePlayerIndex is optional.
- myriad://Players/CueMediaItem - this link is used to cue a specific Media item into a media player. For example myriad://Players/CueMediaItem?mediaId=10001 will cue media item 10001 into the first available player. The forcePlayerIndex is available as an optional extra parameter.
- myriad://Media/OpenInPreviewPlayer - this link is used to show a specific Media item in the first available Media Preview display, or within a popup window if there is no Media Preview view in the current layout. For example myriad://Media/OpenInPreviewPlayer?mediaId=10001 will show media item 10001 in the Media Preview.
- There is an example file available on the Broadcast Radio Help portal.
Media Players and Media Player Faders views:
- You can now show a separate "Player Caption" bar next to each player and control if it's shown to the Left, Top, Right or Bottom of the player. These options can be controlled via the new Layout Editor.
- There is a new option on the Media Players view to control whether it shows the Player Caption when the player is empty.
Automatic Software Updates:
- The Automatic Software settings now have new options to allow you to automatically check for Beta releases as well as the normal Full releases.
- The first time you run Myriad it will also check to see if you are using a current beta release and if so will automatically turn on the option to check for future Beta Releases.
- The old option to use a custom Appcast feed url has now been removed as the recommended way to manage your own software distribution is to use a software release tool like Insight/System Center etc.
Station Enabler Codes:
- The Station Enabler Code system has been updated to add support for future Myriad features.
Social Media Posts:
- X/Twitter: As previously announced, posting to twitter has now been fully removed following their changes to the free tier of their API last year.
The following issues have been fixed:
- Main window tabs: Very long captioned Tabs were still showing scrolllbars, these have now changed to show in tab 'layers' if you do need long tab captions.
- Exporting a log section mixdown to a file: Myriad would exit if you tried to export a section of a Log that did not contain an Hour Start item.
- Database Upgrades: Upgrading a database from Myriad Playout v5 would display an error if some of the default clocks had been deleted.
v6.5.2 4th December 2024
New Features/Changes:
Support for Bluesky:
- Social Media messages: You can now send social media messages to Bluesky alongside the existing options to send to Facebook. These can either be manual or pre-set in the Myriad Schedule Clocks. You will need to update OCP and add in your Bluesky credentials in the OCP Station Settings window before the messages can be posted.
- You can now enter the Bluesky "handle" for artists into the Artist Management window, and Myriad will attempt to automatically locate this information using SmartInfo from sources like Discogs etc. There is an additional option in OCP that will then add these artist accounts to a Bluesky "list" the first time you play a song by that artist.
Log View:
- You can now select the Media Item Description as a column to show in the Log View.
Mixer/Console Support and other connections:
- DHD Support: There is a new "Read Channels" button on the Myriad Playout Application Settings window on the Mixer Connections tab that will read a list of all available Channels on the DHD console and show them in a text file. You can then easily copy and paste from that into the Channels list for those channels you are interested in using.
The following issues have been fixed:
- Editing AI Voice Links: Adding a very long set of "Presentation Style keywords" in either the Clock Editor on the Log Editor could result in the information failing to save.
- Main window tabs: The minimum height of tabs was set too tall, which meant dense tabs would overflow and result in scroll buttons appearing.
- Log Timing: Myriad would wrongly calculate the intro-overlap for sweepers if a song had a slightly unusually formatted Intro Start vs Overall Start Time.
- Log View: The Log View was not correctly showing the original Category colours for items that have been scheduled via a Virtual Category.
- Clock Editor: You could not see the blue "selected row" colour if you had turned on the option to fill the entire row with the Item Type colour.
- Re-scheduling: Re-scheduling an hour that contained items scheduled as Virtual Categories, that were then removed as a partial un-schedule (using selective category unscheduling) would result in the songs in the positions being forced to come from the category of the original item in that position, rather than returning to the Virtual Category.
v6.5.1 19th November 2024
New Features/Changes:
Myriad Schedule:
- Clock Editor: The Clock Editor now shows Category and Attribute colours for Songs, Links and Adverts in the dropdowns to make it easier to identify which ones are assigned to each Clock Item.
- Clock Editor: You can now insert a "Gap Time" item into Advanced Clocks. This is used to add an amount to the Estimated Start time column on the left hand side of the Edit Clock Window. For example, during a live show you may have a live talk segment that is expected to take 10 minutes, so you can insert a Gap Time set to 10:00 which will then show the following item in the Clock as starting 10 minutes after the previous item. Gap items are ONLY used in the Clock Editor for timing calculation purposes and will not be scheduled into the Log and will not affect the actual playout of the scheduled hour.
- Clock Editor: As well as setting the Station Rules at the top of a Clock, you can now change the 'Station Rules' in use DURING an hour. For example, you might use a general mix of Pop/Rock/Dance/Classics music normally, but for a specific section of the hour you want a section that is ONLY Pop and Dance categories. So you can now create a Station Rule set that only allows Pop and Dance categories, then add the new "Station Rules" item to the clock and select the new rules. Then, a few songs later, you can put in another Station Rules item to switch back to the normal station rules mix. These will even work if the Station Rules is in a Child Clock that is being added to the main clock at schedule time.
- Clock Editor: You can now add Split Groups to the Clocks the moment you have created them, you no longer need to connect to your Split Group Station before it can be used.
- Clock Assignments: There is a new "Clock Assignments by hour" report which will show exactly which Clock from which week of which assignment grid will be used for each hour during a specified date range.
- Create Clock from Log: You can now create a new Clock directly from the Scheduled Log View by right-clicking on the Hour Start Item and choosing the new Myriad Schedule option to create a new clock based on the Hour. The same option is available on the Hour ribbon as well. This is a great way to quickly create a new Clock Template based on an hour you have adjusted, as well as being a fast way to create Clocks based on hours scheduled by 3rd party schedulers that you have imported logs from.
- Open Clock from Log: You can now quickly open the Clock that was used to schedule a Log hour by right-clicking on the Hour Start Item and choosing the new Myriad Schedule option to open the Clock. The same option is available on the Hour ribbon as well.
- Virtual Category Scheduling: Myriad Schedule Plus enabled stations can now create a "Virtual Category" for each Station Rule set, where you add one or more "source" categories, and then choose if you want to include all the items from those categories, or only those that have a certain set of attributes.
This feature is very similar to the AutoTrack Virtual Styles Category but significantly more powerful. You can even your import Clock Rules from AutoTrack that have Virtual Styles Categories setup, and these will be imported as Station Rule Virtual Category settings. To turn this feature on, go into Station Settings and on the Scheduling tab turn on the option to Enable Virtual Category Scheduling and click OK.
- Virtual Song Category Example: you might want to create a "Friday night rock show" that will draw from a range of categories, but you only want to includes songs that have the Type of "Rock", and have Medium or High Tempos.
- Creating the Station Rules: you would create a new Station Rules set, then on the new Virtual Category options, you might add in your "Current", "Recurrent", "Image", "Retro" and "Archive" categories, then add in to only allow the "Rock" type as well as Tempos of "Medium" and "High". You can also set the rules that should be used when choosing songs from that Category, as you will likely want to use a different set of rules compared to your normal categories. Songs that are being considered via the Virtual Category will be checked against these specific Virtual Category Rules, rather than the rules for the Category they would normally be played from.
- Assigning it in the Clock: Create a new Advanced Clock and choose the new Station Rules set at the top, then for each Song position in the Clock, set the category to "Virtual", or add it to the Song Category Goals sliders. Finally, assign this Clock to the Friday evening hours in the Clock Assignment grid.
- How it works: When Myriad comes to schedule the clock that is set to use that new Station Rules set, it will search the database for all songs in those 5 categories that have that Type and those Tempos and build a new "virtual" category just for that hour, shuffle the items and then use that to fill each of the "Virtual Category" positions in the clock. All of the other Station Rules will also be applied, so you can control how many in a row/what attributes can follow each other etc. Another advantage to this approach is that it doesn't affect your normal deck rotations, so using it schedule specialist shows will not "use up" songs from your normal categories. You should make sure that the rules for hours following shows scheduled using Virtual categories therefore have appropriate rules to ensure Song or Song Title separation to prevent any songs that have just been played from being played too soon again afterwards.
- Station Rules: Myriad Schedule has had a significant update to dozens of new rules for Schedule Plus enabled stations, as well as introducing Album Rules for the first time.
- There are many new Separation rules as well as an entirely new range of Hour Protection rules. New Rules include:
- A new Previous/Next Day (plus X) rule which replaces the older "Yesterday/Tomorrow" rule, and it can be used for multiple days either side, including a range of days. The default number of days is 1, which equates to the previous yesterday/tomorrow testing. For example, you could have one version of this rule set to 1 day either side and non-breakable, and a second version set to 2-3 days set as breakable. This way, it will guarantee that a song won't play 2 days in a row, and will try to avoid playing songs that were played either the day before, or the day before that, but will allow them if it has to.
- Weekday rules: These compare with the adjacent weekday - for example, Monday is compared with Tuesday and the previous Friday, and Friday is compared with Thursday and NEXT Monday.
- Weekend rules: These compare with the previous/next weekend day - for example Saturday is compared with the next day (Sunday) as well as with the previous Sunday.
- Nearest Play rules ("Dynamic Dayparting"): These hugely powerful rules compare with the previous and next plays, regardless of when they are - for example you might setup a rule to say that a song cannot play at the same time +/- 2 hours compared to the last 2 times it played, which means it will need to be played at least twice in a very different part of the day. This rule is a much more powerful version of the older "Move Through Dayparts" rule found in some older style scheduling products.
- Hour Protection: These rules work by marking 2 or more ranges that prevent a song from playing in one range if it's already played in another - for example you might want to prevent a song from playing during 4pm to 7pm if it was played earlier on in the day between 6am and 9am.
- Drivetime Hour Protection: These are special versions of the Hour Protection rules that allow you to compare adjacent days - for example, when scheduling Tuesday morning, it will check for any plays later on Tuesday, OR the previous evening (Monday).
- These new rules can be applied for many different Media Item fields:
- The Song/Link itself.
- Songs/Links that have the same Title
- Songs by the same Artist
- Songs from any artist that is in an Artist Group with the artist.
- Songs from the same Album.
- Selective hour scheduling: On the main "Schedule Log" window, there is a new tab that allows you to select which hours should be scheduled/imported/unscheduled. This allows you to easily schedule parts of a day or week, but leave other parts unscheduled - for example, you might want to schedule every weekday evening show in advance for the presenter to voice track, but leave scheduling the rest of the week until closer to the time to allow freshly added music to be included in those hours.
- Note: you can only select hours for Scheduling/unscheduling the main log, you cannot use this feature for scheduling or removing adverts from existing hours.
- Simulcast Log Import (Myriad Scheduled Plus): Myriad Schedule now supports full and partial simulcast log import. This feature is used by stations that need to import music logs produced by another station directly into the Scheduled Log.
- Partial Log Import: In this mode, you still use local Clocks to define the layout of each hour, but you set the category for each song and link position to "(Simulcast)" and then those positions will be read from the simulcast log file instead of choosing from items locally. You can also mix-and-match, so you can select local categories for some positions and leave others as Simulcast - for example, you might take a centralised music log, BUT, need to schedule several positions an hour from a local set of items for regulatory reasons.
- Full Log Import: In this mode, you create a Clock and set it to import from Log files, but, you can optionally have Myriad Schedule then "fill in" any unscheduled placeholder items that have been deliberately left empty in the simulcast log file.
Myriad Schedule (Adverts)
- Advert Position in Break: You can now set an Advert to be played at the start ('Top') of a break, at the end ('Tail') or 'anywhere' in the break - with 'anywhere' being the default option. To set an advert to have an associated 'Tail' item, you need to select the position to be First in break, and this will then enable the option to set the related 'Tail' advert, and any adverts that were already in the database from previous versions will now be automatically set to be 'First' in break so the Tail item can be scheduled with it. You can also set these via the Mass Changer.
- Advert hour ranges: You can now specify up to 6 different hour ranges for each advert - A to F.
- Clock Editor/Station Settings: There is a new setting on the Adverts tab in the Station Settings window that lets you set the Estimated break duration to use for Advert Breaks in the Clock Editor. This setting is only used to display timing in the Clock Editor, it does not affect scheduling or control the actual break duration.
- Clock Editor: There are several new settings you can set for each advert break placeholder:
- Estimated Break duration sets an estimated duration for this specific break to help you with the estimated start times for subsequent items in the Clock Editor. For example, you might have a news sponsor that is only ever 30 seconds long, by setting the Estimated Break Duration for that sponsor then the following item in the Clock will show an estimated start time 30 seconds later, rather than using the default estimated break length set in Station Settings.
- Maximum number of adverts in break: This allows you to set the maximum number of adverts that can be scheduled into this specific break. For example, you might need to limit the advert break after the news to just a single advert. This overrides the default maximum nuber of adverts set in the Station Settings window.
- Maximum Break Duration: This allows you to set the maximum duration for all adverts to be scheduled into this specific break. This overrides the default maximum break duration set in the Station Settings window.
- Reports: You can now cancel the Advert Management Log Reports once they have started.
- Scheduling/Unscheduling History: Myriad now only logs a "Adverts Removed" entry to the User History and triggers a notification if it removes any adverts from any breaks. For example, previously Myriad would log an event when first scheduling an hour with adverts even though there could not have been any adverts in the log as it had only just been scheduled/imported.
Media Items:
- Recently Played: There are new options on the View ribbon in the Media Grid, Media Library and Media Report windows to show the most recent time that media item was played "on-air" for the currently open station. You can also set a "warning" period at the bottom of the Station Settings window which will then show a warning indication on the Media Item if the item was played too recently.
- Album Titles: You can now set Myriad to show the Album Title information more prominently across Myriad. To turn this feature on, go into the the Database Settings window, and on the General tab, turn on the "Show the Album Title prominently..." option. This will then show the Album Title on the top tab in the Media Editor and the Mass Change tool, as well as showing it at the top of the SmartInfo and Media Item Information displays. You can also choose to show this information on the Media Grid and the Log View - see below for more details.
- Media Grid View: There is a new option on the View ribbon that shows the Album Title on each Media item.
- Media Report: You can now search by Hook Duration and the hook length is now shown in the search results.
- Media Report: Stations that have multiple stations in the same Myriad Database can use a new "Copy the Category/Attribute assignments for each selected item to other Stations" button that is on the Mass Change drop down button to easily duplicate the Category/Attribute selections from one station to others.
- Media Report: If you select any of the options to search by start/end/delete dates, you are now prompted to turn on the option to "Include date/time restricted" items in the search results.
- Media Editor: Stations that have multiple stations in the same Myriad Database can use a new "Copy Categories/attributes to other station(s)" button on the Categorisation tab to quickly copy the selected Category/Attributes for a Media Item from one station to another. This copy uses the attribute 'number' when copying a setting - for example, a song set to Category 3 in the selected station will be set as category 3 in all the selected stations, regardless of what those categories are called.
- Media Editor: Due to the changes in the way Media IDs are stored in the user history (see below), the option to show edit history now only shows edits by Myriad v6.5 and higher by default. There is a new dropdown option to see edits from previous versions, and you can still use the main User History window to find older events.
- Media Editor: The ISRC search has been updated to use the new search page on the https://www.ifpi.org/ website.
- Media Import Wizard: The options to use a different format during file import have never been applicable to Myriad Playout v6 as all content is always converted to the MediaWall format so have been removed.
- Media Information Window/View: There is a new Edit History tab that shows all the user edits to the selected media from the last 6 months from Myriad v6.5 or higher.
- Media Information Window/View: There is a new Play Logs tab that shows all the times within the last 6 months that the media item was played "On-Air" on the currently open Station.
- Duplicate Media Finder: You can now delete multiple duplicate media items simultaneously.
- Cue Files: You can now choose whether Myriad writes CUE files in the Myriad format, or in the CUE Sheet format as used by some other systems. This setting is in Database Settings on the Media tab under Advanced at the bottom. As part of this update, several changes have been made to the import process which means that you may need to update any CUE files that you created using the cuegenerator.net website as that tool can lead to wrong timing information being generated.
- Statistics Report: There is a new option on the Reports menu to see a more detailed breakdown of the MediaWall statistics including total item count and total count per category. This replaces the old simpler summary that was on the Playout Status window.
- "Most Played"Song and Link Reports: There are 2 new reports on the Report menu that will show you a list of the top 100 most played songs or links for a date range that you specify. When running the report you will be asked if you want to see all results, or only those for items in a specific category or with a specific attribute - for example you might want to see a report showing the top 100 songs that have the gender set to Duet. Double clicking on an item in this report will open the Media item Information window so you can look further into the details or view more detailed play logs. You can selected items in the list and "Send to the pad" to then work with the list.
Mass Changer:
- There is a new checkbox option on the Other tab that will remove any soft-normalisation playback gain that has been applied to the media item.
Scheduled Log:
- Log Display: You can now set what information is displayed in the central columns of the Log Display. These default to Item Title and Artist in single line mode, and Title, Artist and Year in line mode, however you can easily change these from the View ribbon on the Settings button. For example, you may want to show the Artist name in the left hand column, and the Item Title in the right instead of the other way around.
- Log Display: You can now display the Album Title and/or Year for each Media Item in the log within the Log Display. You do this by selecting which column to display the Album Title/Year in from the View ribbon on the Settings button.
- Segue Editor - Locked items: You can now adjust the segue between 2 locked items, but you cannot record a new voice link into that position.
- Hour Information: You can now edit the "Hour Start" for an hour in the Scheduled Log. This allows you to set the titles and presenter information that will be sent to your websites/apps/transmitters etc. when the hour is played, and is initially set from the information that you enter on the Clock window. To edit this information you can just double click on the Hour start bar in the Log View.
- Hour History: You can now quickly view a summary of recent User History for each hour from the new Log Hour Information window. Open the Hour information window by double clicking on the Hour Start and switch to the Hour History tab and you will see all entries for the hour including when it was created, any advert log merges and any additional editing that has been done depending on the additional options turned on - see below.
- Mixdown to Media Item: If the hour has a Show Title set in the Hour Information window then this is used as the title for the Media Item and the Show Presenters are also now set as the Artists on the new Media Item.
- Mixdown to File: If the hour has a Show Title set in the Hour Information window then this is used as the suggested title prefix for the exported audio file.
- User History: An entry is now added to the User history whenever a New voice links is added to the Log, and you can now also turn on adding an entry every time a user adds ANY items to the Scheduled Log.
- To turn this feature on, go into Database Settings, then under Security Options, turn on "Add an entry to the User History whenever an item is added or permanently deleted from any Scheduled Log." which has replaced the older option to only log when items are permanently deleted.
Dashboard:
- Album Title: There is a new option in the Customise Personal Preferences window to change the second line of items in the Dashboard to show the Album title instead of the Artist name.
AI Voice Links:
- Voice selection: You can now specify which voice to use even when using automatically generated scripts.
- ElevenLabs: These have had a significant upgrade and are now using the "Eleven Turbo v2.5" model which sounds significantly more human, as well as being faster and also offers 50% cost savings on many of the ElevenLabs subscription plans. More details are available at https://elevenlabs.io/blog/introducing-turbo-v2-5 . You can also select which model to use if you prefer how the voices sounded before or want to experiment with other models. This setting is in Station Settings on the AI VoiceLinks tab. Previous releases of Myriad used the MultiLingual v1 and MonoLingual v1 models.
- There are several new date related tags that you can use in pre-defined AI Voice link scripts. These include:
- {date}
- {dayName}
- {day}
- {monthName}
- {month}
- {year}
- Myriad has been updated to use the latest updates from both OpenAI and Microsoft Azure to give the best performance.
SmartInfo:
- Weather: Myriad now has built in support for reading the latest weather and forecasts from the Meteorological Service of Canada.
- Weather: Myriad now has built in support for the weather and up to 7 days forecast from the En tjeneste fra Meteorologisk institutt og NRK weather service ( www.yr.no ). This service doesn't just provide weather forecasts for Norway, but covers the entire planet, so is useful as an alternative to the OpenWeather.org provider. Værmeldingen vil også vises på norsk hvis ditt Windows-språk er satt til Norsk.
- London Tube Information (TFL): SmartInfo has been updated to use the new webservice that TFL pushed live following the August 2024 cyber attack.
- Traffic Scotland: This has been removed as a traffic source as the new company has not been interested in granting access to the data.
Publishing to Mixcloud:
- Myriad now supports the new "Host tagging" feature of Mixcloud. This allows you to tag up to 2 additional Mixcloud accounts for the presenters of your shows. When you manually publish items from Myriad you will see 2 new fields where you can enter the Hostnames for your presenters, and you can also set these when setting a Scheduled Publish Mixcloud Task. For more information about this powerful new Mixcloud feature, see https://blog.mixcloud.com/2024/03/19/5-reasons-to-claim-your-radio-shows-on-mixcloud/
- When you click to publish a Media Item to Mixcloud, the Artists are checked to see if they match any Users listed in your security database, and if so, it automatically populates the Mixcloud Host name fields with the Mixcloud account names of the first 2 presenters.
Copyright Reports:
- There are 3 new report templates for USA stations - ASCAP, BMI and SoundExchange.
- There is a new Gramo report template for Norwegian stations.
- There is a new General Copyright Report (Collated) example report that shows the total number of plays for each item.
- The fourth custom copyright field has been renamed to "Nationality", and the SOCAN royalty report has been updated to use this field.
- The Copyright Fields Example report template has been updated to include all of the additional Media Item Copyright fields
- Collated reports can now now the Station Name and Callsign and correctly separate Media plays between stations, so you can use a single collated report to view play counts across multiple stations simultaneously.
- Reports now have the Country name as a prefix to make it easier to locate the reports for your station, as well as now being sortable by Media ID or Play Count. To see these changes, you need to remove your existing templates by closing Myriad, and remove any files from the DataLocation\Reports\Copyright\Templates that you want to be updated, then re-start Myriad and the templates will be automatically updated.
Mixer/Console Support and other connections:
- Application Settings: The Mixer Connection settings have now moved to their own tab in the Application Settings window.
- DHD Support: Myriad Playout now supports the DHD Audio Consoles as a Mixer type. This has been tested on the SX2 Compact Mixer although any DHD mixer that supports the Ember+ protocol should be compatible.
- To enable DHD support, on the Settings menu, click Application Settings then change to the new Mixer Connections tab. In the dropdown list select DHD and then enter the IP Address of the DHD console.
- Then in the list of Channel Identifiers, enter the Channel IDs for the microphones on the left hand side, one ID per line, and the same for the Myriad Channels on the right side.
- X-Keys troubleshooting: There is a new option on the Help menu to restart the connection to any X-Keys keyboards you have connected. This is useful if the keyboard was unplugged while Myriad was running.
User Security/User History:
- Mixcloud details for Users: There is a new field on the Edit Contact/User window where you can enter the Mixcloud account name for each user. This is then used by the Publish Media Item option (see above) to automatically suggest additional Mixcloud accounts to tag when uploading new items to Mixcloud.
- User History: There is a new "Affects Hour" option on the User History window. This will search for all high level history entries that affected the specified hour in the Scheduled Log. For example, if you specified the September 1st, 2024 15:00 as the affected hour, you would see history events for when that hour was scheduled or when adverts were scheduled into it.
- Media Editing User History: The user history has 2 new columns (ItemReference 1 and 2) that are now used to store the Media ID in when editing a media item. For example, editing media item 1234 will show 1234 as the first item reference. Copying it to 2345 will show Item Reference 1 (the source) as "1234" and Item Reference 2 (the destination) as 2345. This makes it much easier to search the history for any events related to that media item.
Appearance and other Views:
- General appearance: The Dark Theme has been adjusted slightly to bring it in line with other products such as Myriad Anywhere. The "Tabs" have also been updated to make it much clearer which tab is selected, and what other tab options are available.
- Clock View: You can now specify the time zone to use in a ClockView by adding in a <timeZoneId> property into your Layout files as described in this help article. This is very useful for stations that need to broadcast to different timezones and need an easy way to show that information on screen. All of the example Layouts that are distributed with Myriad have been updated to include this property.
Myriad Tasks:
- AI Voice Links: There is a new task that allows you to pre-create AI Voice Links using the Management Service in advance, rather than waiting for Myriad Playout to create them on the fly. One thing to note however is that any tags that rely on "live" information such as Weather will not work via these tasks, as this information is only available to Myriad Playout itself.
- Scheduling Log: You can now select a Preset to use when scheduling logs via the Scheduled Myriad Task feature of the Management Service.
- Notifications: There is a new Notifications tab on the Edit Scheduled Task window so you can recieve an email/pushover alert whenevera a task starts, finishes, or if it fails while running.
- Task History: When a Myriad Task finishes, a new "Myriad Scheduled Task Finished" log entry is now added to the User History confirming the time the task finished running. To see this item, you will need to change the Event Type filter to show All Events.
- Database Maintenance Task: Myriad now creates a default Database Maintenance task when it first creates a new Myriad Database.
Myriad Database:
- Upgrading from Myriad Playout v5: Myriad now requires that you are running at least Myriad Playout v5.31 before attempting to update to Myriad v6. If you are running v5.29 or earlier you will be prompted to update your Myriad Playout v5 first and then try again.
- Microsoft SQL Server Support: Myriad v6 will now only run on Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or newer. Any older versions, such as SQL Server 2014, 2012 and earlier are no longer supported and Myriad will show you a message on startup that you need to upgrade your SQL Server software.
The following issues have been fixed:
- Clock Editor: Clicking the cross to close the window would not prompt you if you had made changes the same way that the Cancel button does.
- Log Playback: In very specific scenarios where a Sweeper was followed by an empty media item, that in turn was followed by another sweeper, Myriad would continuously play the first sweeper if the empty media item was populated shortly before it played.
- Log Playback/Segue Editor Playback: If you have a media item with a Media Start set, and then add a "fade in" to the start of that item, you would get a very short burst of the item at normal volume when it first starts playing before then fading in correctly.
- Log Import: Myriad would exit after using the option to import a section from a Log file.
- Segue Editor: The Segue Editor was not correctly applying volume ducking envelopes to the intro of the next song if you turned off the option to automatically detect where the audio level of the voice link ends.
- Myriad Schedule: When scheduling a log without the Enhanced Scheduling mode turned off, items bound to songs or links would not always be correctly inserted into the log.
- Myriad Schedule: Scheduling Split Groups in non-enhanced mode was not pre-setting the titles of the items to the names of the Split Groups.
- Custom Copyright captions: Changes to the Custom Copyright Captions were not being shown in the Advanced Media Library options, Mass Changer or Import Wizard summary page.
- Audio Monitor Views: If these were configured to connect to a Remote Audio Source via TCP, they would not always auto-reconnect after a disconnection.
v6.4.5 October 2024
The following issues have been fixed:
- Log Playback: There could be a slight delay in the first item after an hour start playing if you have some short items just before the end of the previous hour.
v6.4.4 25th September 2024
New Features/Changes:
SmartInfo:
- Australian BOM Weather: SmartInfo has been updated to use the latest FTP server details from the Australian Bureau of Meterology.
- London Tube Information (TFL): SmartInfo has been updated to use the new webservice that TFL pushed live following the August 2024 cyber attack.
Microsoft SQL Database Maintenance:
- Scheduled Myriad Task: There is a new Myriad task that will automatically optimise the Microsoft SQL Database indexes. This is usually done automatically if you are using Microsoft SQL Standard and have set up a "Maintenance Plan", or if you used the Broadcast Radio SQL Server installation process. If you haven't already got a solution in place, then adding this task will reguarly carry out performance increasing maintenance on your SQL Database.
- You should set this process to run once a week, usually overnight at the weekend. The first time it runs, it might cause some slightly delays as it clears any backlog of maintenance needed, and any users carrying out heavy processes might find that Myriad is briefly slightly slower at responding while the maintenance is carried out.
- For most stations, you can just accept the default options, however advanced users might want to adjust the parameters.
- Command Line Utility: There is a new /Action=DatabaseMaintenance option that takes /MinPageCount, /RebuildPercentage and /ReorganisePercentage parameters.
- User History: There is a new "Database Maintenance" user history item that is logged whenever the maintenance runs and reports the results of the maintenance. You will need to select "System Events" to see this item in the User History window.
The following issues have been fixed:
- Upgrading from Myriad Playout v5.28 or earlier straight to Myriad Playout v6 would fail while upgrading the Station Rules table in the database.
v6.4.3 (Release 2) 13th August 2024
New Features/Changes:
Myriad Tasks:
- There is a new 'Housekeeping' Task that you allows you to specify that the Myriad Management Service should run Housekeeping. Normally housekeeping is run by the first available computer running Myriad Playout each hour, so this task is not requied, but can be useful for stations that want finer control over when and where it should be run.
The following issues have been fixed:
- Log Playback: Changing from AutoFade to Live mode could leave/add a small number of autofilled items into the scheduled log.
v6.4.3 6th August 2024
New Features/Changes:
Media Report:
- There is a new option in the 'View' section on the ribbon to show an "External Reference" column in the search results to show the reference for each Media Item.
- The Group By option has moved to the 'View' section on the ribbon.
Mass Changer:
- You can now cancel the Mass Changer once it's started.
On-Air Control:
- When requesting/releasing On-Air Control, the login name for the currently logged in Myriad User is now stored in the User History.
Myriad Schedule:
- Unscheduling: When manually unscheduling hours from the log, the default times are now set to only be the very last hour in the Scheduled Log to prevent accidentally removing an entire day.
Myriad Tasks:
- You can now specify full path/filename/prefix/suffix and filename format options for the Export Scheduled Log task. You will need to edit and update any existing Export Scheduled Log tasks to set the new parameters.
The following issues have been fixed:
- AI Voice Links: Myriad was not correctly checking any restriction dates you have placed on Voice Script notes attached to Media Items, so was always using any items that were set to be available at the time of generation, rather than the expected time of playout. This affected the tags {previousItemAiVoiceScript} , {previousSongAiVoiceScript}, {nextItemAiVoiceScript} and {nextSongAiVoiceScript}.
- Live AutoHooks: Workstations using the Media Engine host were not seeing the titles for each item in the Live AutoHook update in the log Dashboard as each item played.
- Scheduling Bound Items: Forcing an item into a Clock position, that has another item bound to it would sometimes result in the bound item being added twice.
- Advert Scheduling/Log Import: Some stations in time zones significantly east of GMT would find adverts failing to merge into empty advert breaks in the Scheduled Log.
- Database Settings: setting the "Play the next item when the current has faded to" setting to -3dB was not being saved correctly and was resetting back to -4dB.
- Myriad Playout Status: The Status application would occasionally lose it's list of computers to connect to. This issue is now resolved, however you will need to re-add your computers.
- Scheduled Log Hour Replication: Uploading or downloading a Scheduled Log Hour from a remote station or Myriad Cloud system was not correctly setting the last modified information which would result in some stations seeing hours re-replicating or replicating in the wrong direction.
- Database structure changes: Several of the key indexes within the database structure have been updated to make them much more efficient to help resolve performance issues and reduce fragmentation with some stations that have large or very manually adjusted Scheduled Logs.
v6.4.2 13th June 2024
New Features/Changes:
Myriad Tasks:
- Publish to MixCloud: These now only allow you to attach images that are stored within the Myriad Data location. This is to ensure that the Service can definitely access the files to upload to MixCloud when the time comes to run the Task.
Replication:
- The upload and download timeouts have been significantly improved to help with replicating very large media files over slower network connections.
The following issues have been fixed:
- Some users found that opening some windows would cause Myriad to exit, including the Media Editor and Station Settings windows. Running the "repair" in the Myriad Installer would resolve this.
v6.4.1 5th June 2024
New Features/Changes:
Live AutoHooks:
- Live AutoHooks let you use your songs as beds giving you a professional modern sound - when you convert an existing AutoHook item in your Scheduled log to a "Live" AutoHook, it chooses the Hooks from the hour as normal, but then populates it into an on screen list that you can then review, reorder, remove items or even drag in new items into the list to be played out.
- When Myriad starts the Live AutoHook item playing, it will play each item in turn, but instead of automatically moving on when the song reaches it's "Hook End", instead, the song is left playing allowing you to continue talking over it. As soon as you want to the next song hook to start playing, you just hit the "Go" button and it will start the item, allowing you talk over it in turn.
- Any jingles in the list are still played in full, so you can still use a Jingle at the start and end of the Hook, as well as any separator items you want to put in between items.
- The Dashboard shows the name of the current item on the top line in the view, and the 'next' item is shown on the lower line, so you can always see what's coming next so you can forward tease during the previous song's hook.
Scheduled Myriad Tasks:
- Scheduled Myriad Tasks are an incredibly powerful new feature which allows you to create "Myriad Tasks" and then define a schedule for when that task should run.
- Some examples of tasks might be:
- A task that to automatically export a mixdown of your breakfast show to a wav/mp3 file in a folder at 10:05AM every week day ready to be used in another product. Alternatively, you can create a task to automatically publish that show direct to MixCloud.
- A task to import a specific news audio file from a folder into a specified Media item every hour at 50 minutes past the hour.
- A regular task to automatically replicate your content with a remote site or with a Myriad Cloud system.
- To manage your tasks, click on the Settings menu then choose Scheduled Myriad Tasks.
- There are many different tasks that can be added - to see a full list click on the Add Task button and select from the dropdown list.
- Myriad Management Service: Scheduled Myriad Tasks are run by the all new Myriad Management Service which is available to download from the Broadcast Radio Myriad Playout v6 Support pages at https://broadrad.com/mp6support
- The Myriad Management Service runs as a Windows Service meaning it does not need a user to be logged in to Windows, however, you must ensure that the Service does have permissions to access your SQL Server and shared network data location, so it would usually be installed on the same computer as the SQL and Data location.
MediaWall:
- MusicBrainz 'Recording' ID support:
- There is a new field on the "Other" tab in the Media Editor that allows you to store the MusicBrainzID for each media item.
- SmartInfo will attempt to automatically find this information if you have not manually entered it.
- It can also be imported when importing items via a CSV file using the Import Wizard, and it will also be automatically read from mp3 files if the information is already embedded in the mp3 file by a tagger such as MusicBrainz Picard.
- You can then use this ID in the Advanced Library Search, Copyright Reports, or when OCP sends Now Playing information to other systems.
- Media Grid recording: Clicking the ribbon option or right click menu option to record into a specific Media item now pre-sets the Item Type and Sweeper options based on the Database Range specified in the Database Settings window.
- File Import: There is a new setting in Database Settings>Media tab>Advanced Options>Auto-Top detection threshold that allows you to fine tune the silence that will be removed at the start of imported audio files.
- File Import: Added experimental support for importing ".snd" format audio files. This has only been tested with a small number of Dalet snd files.
- Media Report: There is a new drop down option on the Export Media ribbon button that allows you to just export the audio for the media item in the format that it's stored in on the MediaWall.
- Media Commands: There is a new Media.SetRotatingItemNextToPlay command which can be used to set exactly which item in a rotating item should play next. e.g. setting this to 2 will set the next item to play to be the second item in the rotator.
Media Editor:
- "Used By" Report: When editing a Media Item, there is a "Used By" report option that will show you a list of all other items have a link to this item - for example, Media Item 501 might be a list member in one or more Media Lists, or be used as a bound item, or another item might have 501 as one of their Trigger Items assigned to a timing point.
- "Scheduled Log" Report: There is a new "Scheduled Log" report on the Media Editor that shows you a list of all the places that the media item is in the Station's Scheduled Log along with it's estimated start time for each play.
- Auto-complete: There is a new option on the Edit ribbon that allows you to turn auto-complete on and off when editing the Title and Artist information.
- Restore deleted: When you open the Media Editor on an empty media item, there is a new button shown in the bottom right hand corner if there are any previous deleted versions that can be restored. This works in exactly the same way as the option on the Edit ribbon, but makes it much easier to quickly restore a wrongly deleted item. The icon for restoring deleted items has also been updated.
- Overall Start/End display in preview mode: The Overall Start and End timing markers are now showing on the Media editor view along with the existing intro/hook/extro etc. markers.
Media Players:
- The Ducking systems used by Myriad Anywhere and Myriad Playout Remote has been entirely re-written to provide a much more stable multi-user capability. You will need to update Myriad RES to at least v6.4.1 to use this new feature.
- There is a new Players.SetAllPlayerDucking command which can be used to turn ducking on or off and even set a custom level to use.
Advert Management
- Scheduled Log Report: There is a new "Scheduled Log" report that shows you a list of all the places that the Advert is in the Station's Scheduled Log along with the estimated start time for each play.
Myriad Schedule:
- Station Rules: When adding a new rule to a Category, Myriad now shows more clearly if the rule is only available as part of Myriad Schedule Plus. You are also now prevented from adding this rule to the list of rules, and if any Categories have any rules that are not available then you are prompted to remove these before the Rule set can be saved.
Scheduled Log:
- AutoFade mode: By default, when you change from AutoFade to Live Assist (or to Standby), any items that had been added to the hour to correct any underrunning are now automatically removed. If you want to change back to the old behaviour, tthere is a new option in Station Settings on the AutoFade tab : "Remove any automatically added items when stopping the log or changing to Live mode" which you can turn off.
- There is a new option on the Hour Start right click menu that allow you to manually clear off all blue "play" marks from items in the log. This is automatically done by Myriad whenever it starts a new hour playing, but this new option allows users to do it on demand for peace of mind.
- AI Voice Links: The default ChatGPT model has been updated to use GPT-4o which is has more up to date information about the world, works significantly faster and also a lot cheaper.
- AI Voice Links, GPT generation: The maximum number of words to generate has been changed to a softer limit to prevent sentences being cut off by the GPT system.
- AI Voice Links, GPT generation: The GPT optimisations have been updated to further improve the quality of voice links.
- AI Voice Links, GPT generation: When an AI Voice Link is being created that includes a Songfacts.com quote about the next song, the AI Voice Link will now tend to include the name of the song and/or artist AFTER the quote, and will now occasionally include the Station name as well, if allowed.
- AI Voice Links: If an AI voice link cannot be generated due to a problem with either the GPT account or the Voice Synthesis provider - for example invalid API keys or account issues - then the log item will now show the yellow warning triangle and hovering over the icon will show a prompt to check the User History to find out more information.
- Commands: If a command fails to execute it is now shown with the yellow warning triangle, and the failure details are saved as a new event in the User History.
- Automatic Log purging: The daily housekeeping process has been extended to automatically remove very old Log items from the scheduled log based on the setting on the Station Settings>Scheduling tab. Previously this only applied to stations using Myriad Schedule or AutoTrack, but this change means this is now also being applied to stations using Log Import or replicating schedules between multiple station sites/Myriad Cloud. You can also manually start Housekeeping from the Database Settings window on the Advanced tab which will start the process for all enabled stations in the database.
- Advert Breaks: There are 2 new settings that allow you to tell Myriad to soft delete the first Link just before or after an unscheduled advert break to prevent Myriad playing 2 links back to back if no adverts have been scheduled. To turn these options on go to Station Settings on the Adverts tab.
- Split Advert Breaks: There is a new setting that allows you turn control whether Myriad defaults each Split Advert Break's duration when scheduling/importing the main log.
- Now Playing Billboard file: Myriad will now automatically place 2 files next to the Billboard file with a "-now.jpg" and "-next.jpg" suffix which are populated with the art work for the currently playing item and the next item. If the item doesn't have any artwork, then Myriad will copy in an image from a default station logo file. To find out the name for that default station log file, look in Station Settings on the Connections tab where it shows the name of the billboard file and also the required name for the default station logo file.
- Command Line Utility: Scheduling/Importing/Removing of hours from the Scheduled Log via the Command Line Utility are now logged as "system" events in the User history to reduce clutter. You can see them by changing the filter options in User History to show "all" events.
Replication:
- When replicating a Song or Link item from a remote system, the "Allowed to be scheduled" information is now preserved.
Artist/Title Management:
- The import/download artist groups window has a new look to bring it in line with the same window in Myriad Anywhere Pro.
Play Logs/Copyright Reports:
- There is a new example Copyright report "Example with all Copyright Fields" which shows an example of all the primary fields that are available in Copyright reports. This is very useful if you need to modify an existing report or to build your own from scratch.
User Security
- There is a new "Manage My User Account/Security" option at the bottom of the View menu that brings both the old "Change Password" and "Manage your One-Time Pin" options into a new combined window along with the brand new "User Security Tokens" feature which are used to connect 3rd party applications to connect to the Myriad Remote Edit Server "OpenAPI" server to allow tighter integration between products.
Layouts:
- Station Name, Strapline/Tagline: You can now show the Station name and/or tagline in the header of tabs defined within the Layout XML file. You just set the header attribute to contain either {stationname} or {stationtagline}. The Multi Station Layout template has been updated to demonstrate this feature. This means that the text within the layout can then automatically update to show the current station name when you change stations. If you are using multiple stations and want the tab to automatically show the correct station name then the "View" that is contained within the tile must show station specific information - for example the MediaGridView or LogView. You can easily identify any Views that are compatible as they all have a "lockToStationId" property.
The following issues have been fixed:
- Media Editor: Importing a new audio file directly from the "New Audio File" button was not using the Auto Top settings in Database Settings.
- Extro's not being read from transport files: Importing a transport file that contains a non-wav audio file (e.g. mp3) could result in the extro being re-detected using the AutoExtro process instead of retaining the extro set in the transport file. This could also affect replicating items with a remote site.
- Hardware 'Display' lines: Rapidly re-setting hardware lines would not always be sent to the Hardware Service - for example, a Hardware Line set to show when a player is in preview mode would not always remain "set" on if you replaced one previewing item with another.
- Importing audio files from I Like Music: Myriad was not correctly importing the Copyright title and Publisher information.
- Editing the Scheduled Log: Copying or moving a log item that had already been played, or had AutoTrim adjustments set for it was not clearing that information when adding/moving the item in the log.
- Log Display: The blue "played" ticks would not show in some timezones in very rare scenarios where log items have been marked as played with zero length due to audio hardware device issues.
- Myriad Schedule: In Enhanced deck mode, extra checking has been added to confirm that an item is "Allowed to be scheduled" even if it is still wrongly in the Song/Link decks due to previously using mismatched versions of Myriad to edit Media items.
- Replication: Downloading audio from a remote site that is using IMA ADPCM format audio files to a local site that is ALSO using IMA ADPCM files was wrongly re-converting the audio files and could refuse to download/convert any more than 2 or 3 items in a row.
- Upgrading a Myriad Playout v4 Contacts and Users Directory: Upgrading from a very old Myriad v4 Directory would display one or more error messages about missing or already existing database structures.
v6.3.6 May 2024
New Features/Changes:
Import Wizard:
- When loading a list of items from an CSV or XLS file to import, the Import Wizard can now import additional artist fields (Artist2, Artist3, Artist4 and Artist5) as well as the Characteristic fields: Energy, Tempo, Texture, Mood and Burnout columns. For the Characteristic fields, the names must already be created in the Myriad database - for example if you have a list of items with the Energy column set to "Draining", then you must make sure you have created a matching Energy level of "Draining" in the Categories and Attributes window.
Replication:
- The way that files are read from local data folders to be uploaded to Remote Edit Servers has been rewritten to give significant performance improvements.
The following issues have been fixed:
- Media Library/Report: If you turned on the option to sort Attributes into alphabetical order, then the display was wrongly showing categories under each of the Type/Gender/Era/Tags tree nodes.
- Scheduling with Advanced Clocks: Myriad would fall back on using the Goals to choose a category for clocks that were editing in Myriad Anywhere in very rare situations.
- Log Playback: If something else cued a media into a player at almost the exact same moment that a Scheduled Log item was cued in then Myriad could get stuck in a loop and not correctly move on to the next item until you pressed Go.
- Log Import: You could only import Main Logs from an FTP server if you were ALSO importing Advert Logs via FTP.
- AI Voice Links: Manually inserting an AI voice link between 2 items that have been autotrimmed/time stretched would not remove all of the AutoFade adjustements when placing the AI audio.
- AI Voice Links: In the Clock Editor, clicking to generate an AI Voice Link using GPT could result in a link that was always targetted at a midnight hour, and the placeholder tags that GPT returned were not suitable.
v6.3.5 2nd April 2024
New Features/Changes:
AI Voice Links:
- Live Read Script Commands: The Ai.CreateAiVoiceLinkMediaItem and Ai.CreateOrUpdateAiVoiceLinkMediaItem commands now have 3 optional extra parameters that allow you to specify which voice name, voice style and voice rate to use for the specific audio being generated. If these are not specified then the Station Settings defaults will be used instead. Note that some voice providers such as ElevenLabs does not supported altering the rate.
The following issues have been fixed:
- Media Editor: You could not use the Insert Encoded String option when using modern format scripts.
- AI Voice Links: You could not create an AI Voice Link using either Azure or Google if your 'rate' was set to "0" or "1".
- AI Voice Links: Setting a specific ElevenLabs voice to use for a single link would be missed and the voice would be generated using the station default.
- Importing Clocks from AutoTrack: Song/Link Clock Line Characteristic assignments were not being imported.
v6.3.4 7th March 2024
New Features/Changes:
Media Items:
- Audio Streams: The ability to set the Retry connections has been temporarily removed due to compatibility issues, this feature will be returned as soon as these are resolved.
Replication:
- Database Settings: The Audio Format options are no longer replicated with the remote station. This is to allow individual replication partners to control their own audio format and storage needs.
- Station Settings: Scheduling and Split Playout settings are no longer replicated with the remote station. This is to allow individual replication partners to control their own scheduling and split settings.
- Manual Replication window: 2 information icons have been added to the display to show the list of settings that are not replicated when you replicate Database and Station settings.
AI Voice Links:
- Live Read Script files: These can now contain Tags (i.e. {stationName}) and will be processed and replaced as part of generating the AI Voice Link.
- Azure OpenAI: Updated to the latest Azure OpenAI release - required to support the latest updated to Microsoft Azure Cognitive Services.
The following issues have been fixed:
- Log Playback: Fixed a problem where songs prior to sweepers would not always honour the "Fade all songs" setting and would be left ducked but still running under the following song, especially if they had been AutoFaded.
- Segue Editor: Fixed a problem where songs prior to sweepers would not always honour the "Fade all songs" setting and would be left ducked but still running under the following song.
- Segue Editor on mp3 based MediaWalls: The Segue Editor had several key performance and reliability issues when used with mp3 based MediaWalls.
v6.3.3 28th February 2024
New Features/Changes:
Managing Artists/Item Titles:
- There is a new "Title Case" button available for both Artists and Item Titles that allows you to easily update multiple items to change the case. For example, if you have a large number of songs that have had the Title and/or Artist all entered IN ALL UPPER CASE then you can select these and click the button to have them Corrected To Title Case. You should obviously avoid doing this for Artists like ELO!
SmartInfo:
- OpenWeather: The short weather summary has been improved for countries using the metric system to show wind speed in kilometers per hour instead of meters per second. There is also a new "British" option which uses centigrade for temperatures and mph for wind speed.
- OpenWeather: Wind gust information display has been improved both in the current and 5 day forecast settings.
AI Voice Links:
- Futuri AudioAI support: You can now seamlessly integrate Futuri AudioAI Breaknote links into your scheduled log. For more information see https://broadrad.com/futuri
- 3rd Party schedulers: You can now add basic Voice Links scripts to 3rd party music schedulers. You will need to add a breaknote to your Clock that starts with the prefix $V followed by the script or external reference (for example, with Futuri Breaknotes). For more information on the format to use, please see the Log File Format MS Word document that is installed with this product. You cannot use Myriad's automatic script generation, but you can use fixed scripts with the normal placeholder tags.
- GPT script generation: The way that timing information is passed to OpenAI has been improved to help countries that use a 12 hour clock as standard.
- GPT script generation: The information that is passed to OpenAI has been tweaked to allow the the GPT system to be more aware of morning/afternoon/evening/overnights etc. so that links can be more contextual.
- AutoTrack SE v4.6 Clock Import: Importing Clocks from an AutoTrack SE database now imports any Voice Link Clock lines.
Upgrade Utility:
- PlayoutONE Upgrades: Various improvements to the Upgrade process for PlayoutONE v4 and v5. For more information, please see the dedicated version history file for the Upgrade Utility.
The following issues have been fixed:
- Media Playback: Cueing very long media items in mp3 format could take some time, particularly if being read over a network connection.
- Log Playback: Starting the log playing could take a very long time on some stations that are keeping a long Scheduled Log history or where the database is hosted on a very slow server.
- Log Smart Transfer: Changing a log item while a SmartTransfer is in progress would sometimes result in the progress bar no longer updating - for example, changing the Chain type of the current log item.
- Log Smart Transfer: When the log was running in AutoFade mode, if a song had fade instructions on it, these would be lost when transferring the log to another computer, so although the next song would start playing on the new computer, the outgoing song would be left to play in full on the previous computer.
- Media Report: Items with no Start/End/Delete dates would be wrongly shown as having a date of the 1st January 0001
- Segue Editor: Some voice links would be wrongly displayed as playing dry before the intro of a song. Only the display was affected and the link would actually play in the correct location.
- Mass Changer: Fixed a problem with Mass Changing the scheduling details for an Advert in a different station would wrongly apply the new scheduling settings and could affect the currently open Station as well.
- Myriad Schedule Clock Editor: Using the "delete" button at the right hand side of the Clock Items list would wrongly remove any Characteristic/tag etc. assignments from other lines. Using the windows Cut and Paste could also do the same.
- Commands: The Media.IsItemEmpty command was not working
- Command Line Utility AI Voice Link Generation: AI Voice links generated by the Command Line Utility would not always be automatically placed correctly into segues.
v6.3.2 24th January 2024
New Features/Changes:
Media Wall:
- Import Wizard: Added support for more CSV formats when importing media from a list.
Log Playback:
- Dashboard: The caption for the "Waiting for go" item now shows "Click 'Play' to start / (Waiting for go)".
AI Voice Links:
- Weather: There are 3 new tags that can be used to insert specific weather information. These are currently only available when you are using the OpenWeatherMap service:
- weatherTemperature - the current temperature
- weatherTemperatureFeelsLike - the current 'feels like' temperature
- weatherTemperatureUnits - the temperature units e.g. Celsius or Fahrenheit.
- OpenAI: OpenAI.com users can now specify which GPT model to use. Previously Myriad would always use gpt 3.5 turbo, but the new default is gpt 4. You can change which model you are using in the Station Settings window.
- GPT script generation: The prompts that are passed to OpenAi ChatGPT and Azure OpenAi have been improved to reduce how often it suggests "Enjoy" and "Well, that was..." as parts of the script.
- GPT script generation: There are new settings in Station Settings that allow you to limit the maximum length of voice links. GPT uses a "token" count which is approximately one shorter word or 4 letters. By default, Myriad will try to limit automatic scripts to 300 tokens or less for normal links, or 2000 tokens for links that include weather or Songfacts.
- Clock Editor/Log Item: There is a new setting on each AI Voice Link that allows you to override the approximate max duration for just that link position.
- Voice Link audio: The default for how much time to leave after an AI Voice Link before the intro end of the incoming song has been slightly increased to 0.5 seconds.
- Voice Link audio: The Google and Azure Voice link generation systems now have been adjusted to improve the natural pauses that are inserted into speech for commas and in between sentences.
Command Language:
- There is one a new hardware command Hardware.PulseLine that allows you to specify the number of seconds to pulse a hardware line on for. For example
Hardware.PulseLine(0,5,10) will turn on the fifth line on the first hardware device for 10 seconds.
REST API:
-
There is a new OpenAPI method to Pulse a hardware line, for more details, please see the OpenAPI Documentation from the Help menu.
Command Line Utility:
-
GenerateAiVoiceLinks There is a new option in the Command Line Utility to automatically create any AI Voice links for a specified date range. .
- This example generates all AI Voice Links for the next hour:
- MyriadUtilityCL6.exe /Action=GenerateAiVoiceLinks /StationId=0 /StartDate=NowDateTNowHour+1 /EndDate=NowDateTNowHour+1
The following issues have been fixed:
- Find next empty Media Item: Myriad would sometimes be unable to find the next available media item in a range if there were no further items anywhere on the MediaWall. For example, recording or generating a new Voice Link in a range that ended at the end of the MediaWall.
- Edit AI Voice Links: The "Insert tags" and "Insert script" menu buttons would sometimes be shown without the explanation text captions.
- Clock Assignment Sets: Stations that downgraded from Myriad Schedule Plus to Myriad Schedule Standard were still seeing clocks being used from that were assigned to additional "Weeks" in the Clock Assignment Set that no longer exist.
- Upgrading from Myriad Playout v5: A tiny number of stations that upgraded from Myriad Playout v5 would find that the Clocks, Clock Assignments or Station Rules would not replicate to a destination location correctly. This release updates this information in the database so that subsequent replications will then work correctly. If you find that your information has not replicated correctly, please re-send the information using the Manual Replication window.
v6.3.1 12th December 2023
New Features/Changes:
AI Voice Links:
Myriad now has options to automatically build scripts for Voice Links and 'read' them on-air using Text To Speech systems and uses a combination of "expert system" language models built into Myriad to create the scripts, but it can also feed the same information to online OpenAI systems (i.e. similar to "Chat GPT") to create incredibly realistic scripts for AI Voice links.
This is totally configurable and would range from simple time checks to more complex voice links including automated weather and promo script reads.
You can also manually create voice link scripts that contain place holders and Myriad will then fill in the placeholders at broadcast time with the latest information - you can even build up voice links out of multiple different voices to create back-and-forth style voice links. For example, you might create a voice link where the virtual "presenter" back announces the previous song, then a secondary voice reads the weather before the "presenter" then teases a song coming up later, then rolls into the next song.
Voice links can create information about songs that have just played or are coming next, or even tease songs that are several items away. It can also include Songfacts.com information about the previous and next songs, as well as the station name and/or tagline as well including weather information and even current time information. It can even include script information from existing Live Read script files, or read pre-entered scripts directly from Media Items so you can schedule live read "S&P" style messaging that can then use all the powerful rotation systems built into Myriad Schedule to use different scripts at different times/rotations.
You can add AI Voice Links into the Clocks where you can enter the script or set the parameters for auto-script creation. You can also manually insert AI Voice Links directly into the scheduled log. Once the audio for an AI Voice Link has been created, Myriad automatically places it in between the adjacent items and can even "pre-roll" the link over the end of the previous song to give a more seamless segue between items. You can also manually edit the link position via the Segue Editor.
Myriad includes a per-station "replacement words" dictionary that can then be used to adjust the pronunciation of any words/artists to guide the speech generators - for example, there may be a local place name that needs to be said with a certain pronunciation.
Myriad will automatically generate the AI Voice Links a few minutes before the link is due to be played out so that it will contain the latest available information.
AI Scripts and audio generation is also logged in the User History, and you can configure Myriad to send you a Notification if there were any problems with either script or audio generation.
Script Generation: Myriad supports the following script generation systems:
- Manually written scripts
- Automatically generated scripts using a built in "phrase" based sytem. Myriad comes with a a large built in phrase collection but you can also edit this collection to allow you total control of the style and wording of voice links. Myriad then chooses multiple phrases from the collection and builds a suitable voice link based on the weightings you give it.
- Microsoft Azure Cognitive Services OpenAI generation. This uses the Microsoft implementation of the ChatGPT system and produces very realistic results very quickly. It requires a Microsoft Azure Account and there may be additional costs to use the service depending on which Microsoft options you use. We recommend using the "GPT 32K" model as this produces the best results using the very latest ultra large language models.
- OpenAI generation - this uses the powerful engine behind ChatGPT to create natural language speech. You will require an OpenAI account and may require additional payments to use their API service. Currently, you may only be able to use their "GPT3.5" model which is good, but lacks some of the finesse of the more modern GPT4 systems available from Microsoft Azure.
Speech Generation: Once Myriad has a script for an AI Voice Link, it then uses a "Text To Speech" system to convert that script into speech. Each Station can be configured to use a different voice provider, and Myriad currently supports the following TTS systems:
- Built in Windows "SAPI4/SAPI5" compatible voices - these are installed into Windows and run locally with no need for an internet connection
- Microsoft Azure Cognitive Services AI Voices - these require an internet connection as the speech is rendered in the cloud, but the results are incredibly realistic and provide a free tier, and once that free allowance is used up you are then charged a small amount for the conversions you do subsequently. You will need to create a Microsoft Azure account to use this feature.
- Google Cloud compute voices - very similar to the Azure voice system above, but hosted by Google. This is also a subscription service, and you will need to create a Google Cloud compute account.
- ElevenLabs - These voices are also created in the cloud and produce incredibly realistic sounding human speech, but are slightly more limited as you cannot mix and match voices in a single AI Voice Link. The added quality does come at a slightly higher cost than the Microsoft and Google offerings.
There is also an entirely new set of AI Commands that allow you to pre-create AI Voice Link media items or create scripts. These include Ai.CreateAiVoiceLinkMediaItem, Ai.CreateAiVoiceLinkScript, Ai.CreateOrUpdateAiVoiceLinkMediaItem and Ai.RewriteScriptWithGpt
For more information about this feature and important information on how to configure it and any provider specific limitations, please see this help article.
Station Information:
- Strapline/Tagline: You can now enter the station's Strapline/Tagline into the Edit Station Details window. You can also enter a different version of these on the new AI tab in Station Settings if you want to use different wording for on-air AI Voice links.
- Call sign: You can now enter the station's call sign/letters into the Edit Station Details window and these can now be used in Copyright reports, for example the CRTC and SOCAN copyright reports.
- Broadcast.Radio API Key: Entering the Broadcast.Radio API key is now done via the Edit Station Details window. When you enter a BR API Key, if you haven't entered a Strapline the Myriad will automatically use the one from your Broadcast.Radio Station details. You can also optionally select to import the Station logo from your broadcast.radio account as your station logo.
Important: Station Enablers:
- Myriad OCP and Myriad AutoImporter now require a Station Enabler to operate. If you already have a Station Enabler code for your station then there is no further action required and Myriad AutoImporter and Myriad OCP will run straight away.
- If you don't currently have a Station Enabler code, please contact hello@broadcastradio.com for more information.
- Station Enablers are available free of charge to all existing stations who have a full Myriad Playout license.
All new v6 native Command Language:
- Myriad v6.3 introduces a totally new script engine that uses a command language broadly based on the Javascript language structure that is significantly more powerful than the older script engine.
- This new engine adds powerful new language features such as:
- Variables
- Do-While Loops
- For-Next Loops
- Switch
- Dramatically improved IF statements that allow true branching.
- It also adds in many new language elements such as "Math", "String", "Random", as well as string, double and int32 methods that are drawn from the Microsoft .Net language.
- You can define "Functions" within your command scripts to allow proper structuring of your code, allowing for easy but powerful branching and code re-use.
- The Command editor in the Media Editor also now has a very powerful "Intellisense" and autocomplete system making it incredibly easy to find the correct command as you are type. The command browser has also been updated with the commands, language and examples all available on different tabs.
- All of the Command examples and language documentation has been updated to use the new command language, and all new Commands will be created using the new language by default.
- You can still use the older language, and all existing commands will work as before, although any new commands added in future releases might only be available in the new language.
- In the Media Editor window, there is a slide option at the bottom of the Command Editor area to allow you to switch between the older command language and the newer v6 language.
- The Edit Hardware Line Assignment window has also been updated to offer the choice between legacy and the v6 language, but the editor in this window does not have the full Intellisense editor that the Media Editor window has.
Media Wall:
- Importing Media Items: Myriad now supports importing CUE information created by www.cuegenerator.net
- Editing Media Items: The View tab has been combined with the default "Home" tab, so that the options to toggle on and off the various extra fields such as Start/End, Loops, Now Playing etc. are now much more obvious.
- Editing Media Items: The Item Title and Artist name fields now have auto-complete that will show you suggestions once you type in 3 or more characters.
- Editing Media Items: You can now import Now Playing information from a CUE file into an existing Media Item. To import these, remove any existing Now Playing items and you will see a new button to load them in from a selected file.
- Stream Media Items: There are new options on the Media Editor to allow you to control the number of times Myriad should attempt to re-connect to a stream if it disconnects - for example if the internet connection at either end is unstable. You can also control how long Myriad should wait before re-connecting each time. This time is approximate as there are several layers of caching built in to Myriad, so you will find that Myriad actually continue playing even after several seconds of disconnection before it runs out of buffer. When a Media Item is playing, if it needs to reconnect, then a "Connecting..." overlay will appear in the large Media Players.
- Stream Media Items: You can now set an Extro on stream items.
- New Note Type: There is a new Note Type of "AI Voice Link script" which you can use to enter scripts that can be called from AI Voice Links. The Media Items for AI Voice Links also has this automatically populated with the script of link.
- Media Item Social Notes: Social Media (short) and Social Media (long) notes have been combined into a single "Social Media" note type. All "short" notes have been converted into the new type which is a direct replacement for the older "long" type.
- Media Item DAB Notes: DAB notes have been merged into the existing "Digital Radio" note type. All "RDS" notes have been converted into Digital Radio Types.
- Mass Delete: The Mass Delete progress bar now has a cancel button allowing you to stop the process if nescessary.
- Restoring deleted Media Items: You can now also restore deleted media items that didn't have any audio.
- Find next empty Media Item: The way that Myriad searches for the "next" empty media item, especially in databases that are set to replicate with other systems, has been entirely rewritten to give a significant performance increase.
- Replicating to a remote location: Myriad now performs extra validation checks on the audio file that is to be uploaded to ensure it is valid and should be playable.
- Mass Delete: The Mass Delete progress bar now has a cancel button allowing you to stop the process if nescessary.
- Category+Attributes Sorting: There is a new option in Database Settings under Media Settings to sort Categories, Types, Genders, Eras and Tags alphabetically in the Media Editor, Media Library/Report and Mass Changer. Characteristics are not sorted and are always shown in order.
- Category+Attribute cleanup: There is a new button on the Database Settings > Advanced tab that is useful for stations that used to use separate Categories for each station but have now switched to sharing one set of Categories and Attributes across all stations. This button removes up the left over assignment information for each media item for all stations except the primary station. This can help resolve issues with items unexpectedly scheduling in those secondary stations when they shouldn't. After running this feature, you should rebuild your Song and Link decks to complete the cleanup process.
On Air Control:
- If you have On-Air control and you click the button on the right hand side of the menu bar to release control, you are now asked to confirm releasing control.
Myriad Schedule/Copyright Reports:
- Removing hours from the Scheduled Log that have a very high number of tested/rejected items has had a significant speed improvement.
- Schedule Hour Summary Report: This report now also includes an hour breakdown about how many Voice links, AI Voice Links and "live" links (based on red 'stop' indicators) are in the Scheduled Log as well as the total duration of those links - this can be very useful for stations that need to show how many hours a day contain 'Live' or 'As-live' content they are broadcasting each week.
- Tested/Rejected Reports: When scheduling, if more than 250 items are rejected for given log position, Myriad now only stores a sample of items for each rule that is being broken as an indication of which rules are proving the most restrictive. Previously all items would be rejected, but this could lead to massive amounts of data being stored in the database and lead to performance issues in some scenarios. There is a new option in Station Settings on the Schedule tab "Keep ALL items that were tested but rejected..." if you need to see all rejected items for diagnostic reasons, but you should be aware that this can have a significant performane impact.
- CRTC Copyright report: The "SUBCATEGORY" field is now populated from the Custom4 field on the Media Editor. Existing stations may need to remove the existing "CRTCAirplay-v5.xml" file in your DataLocation\Reports\Copyright\Templates so this file can be recreated to get this update.
Main Window:
- Large Tabs: There is a new option to "Show Large Tabs" at the bottom of the View menu that increases the size of the tabs making them easier to use for touchscreens and other custom screen resolutions.
Log View:
- The method used to work out where the Log View will jump to when pressing 'Home' in standby mode has been updated to make it easier for stations that use longer form media items such as prerecorded show segments.
SmartDisplay Views:
- Station Name, Strapline/Tagline: You can now show the Station name and/or tagline in the text display by entering the variable name {stationname} or {stationtagline} in the text. The Simple Production and MultiStation Layout templates have been updated to demonstrate this feature. This means that the text within the layout can then automatically update to show the current station name when you change stations.
MediaItemInfo Views:
- There are 2 new options that can be set in the layout xml to show or hide the titleing information at the top ("header bar") and the player at the bottom ("player bar"):
- showHeaderBar and showPlayerBar
Log Import/Reconciliation Export via FTP server:
- You can now set Myriad to download and import Main and Advert log files from an FTP Server. Advert Rec files are also then uploaded to that same ftp server every hour. This is ideal for stations using 3rd party schedulers to generate logs for Myriad to use, but are at a remote location that does not have file access to the original scheduled log files.
- You configure the FTP server to use in the Station Settings window on the Log Import and Adverts tab respectively.
SmartInfo:
- Welsh traffic information: Added extra handling for the welsh date format used in the Welsh traffic feed.
Security/User History:
- User Management: The Edit User window has been redesigned to focus more heavily on User specific fields such as Login name and email address. This is inline with the move to User Management being primarily for users, rather than the older "Contact management" design. The other fields are still available on the Contact page. The User Management list of users has also now got additional columns to show the Login name and email address for all users in the database.
- Media Wall Permissions: There are 2 new permissions that allow you to control if a security group or individual user has the ability to edit the stream details of Audio Stream Media Items, or the Command text of Command Media Items.
- Myriad Schedule edit history: Myriad now logs in the User History when a user adds, edits or deletes a Clock, Clock Assignment Set or a Station Rules set.*
- Scheduling User History: To reduce clutter in the User History, all Automatic scheduling and log cleanup of both Myriad and Advert logs is now logged in the User History as "System" events - to see these events you need to change the filter from "Normal Events" to either "All Events" or "System Events". Any Scheduling or log deletions that are done by a user are still shown in the Normal Events list.
- Station Settings User History: There is now a dedicated separate User History entry for Station Settings being edited. This can be found in the User History under the "Myriad Playout" application area.
New AutoPlayer optional extra feature:
- The AutoPlayer application from Myriad v5 is now available as an optional extra built directly into Myriad Playout v6.
- This licensed extra feature is designed for educational institutions as a simpler alternative to running a full Myriad Schedule based Log.
- Once AutoPlayer has been added to your License you will see a new option on the Station menu to edit your AutoPlayer Schedule.
- There is a new Layout template on the the available Templates sub menu that includes the AutoPlayer view as a key part of the display.
Replication changes:
- Download Database Settings: When you download Database settings from a remote station, the local settings for whether to create Peak files are preserved and are not replaced with the settings from the remote system.
- Download/upload Station Settings: When you download/upload Station settings with a remote station, the settings for the Main and Advert Log file import locations are now preserved and not overwritten.
The following issues have been fixed:
- Media Grid view: Changing station would not update the Category and colours used to show the Media items.
- Media Library/Media Report: Some users would not see a list of available Song/Link/News Categories when using the advanced search filters.
- Importing Media files with CUE files: Cue files with non-western Title or Artist information would not import that information correctly.
- Media Import: Replacing a media item on the MediaWall with a transport file was not correctly moving the previous version into the recycle bin.
- Media Export: Exporting a transport file or replicating a media item to a remote system would not correctly include any "Display By" information.
- Media Editor: Only the first 15 tags would be shown in the Tag selector when editing a Song or Link
- Favourites: Playing Favourite that has a a rotating media item assigned to it could cause Myriad to exit including when triggered remotely or from a Command.
- Log Playback: Fixed a problem where an invalidly configured AutoHook item that was imported from a very old Myriad database could cause log playback to stall.
- Log Playback: Very short sweepers could cause Myriad to skip calculating AutoFade timings once the main song starts.
- Myriad Schedule: Tested but rejected item information was not being correctly removed from the database after the specified number of days. The process of removing very large numbers of items has also been slowed down to reduce the impact on performance on slower computers.
- Myriad Schedule: Importing Clock Assignments from AutoTrack would sometimes only work when importing into Station 0.
- Myriad Schedule Plus - Editing Clocks: You could not enter a year into the Start or End Year columns.
- Opus playback: Rapidly seeking around while playing back Opus files could cause Myriad to exit, and seeking could sometimes seek to a slightly different time than expected.
- Extro detection: The ideal position for the Extro would sometimes be inaccurate when scanning opus format files.
- SmartTransfer: Fixed an issue where transferring the Log between 2 computers that are connected to the same remote media engine would not correctly complete the process.
- Log Mixdown/Multitrack export: Fixed some issues with exporting log mixdowns with complex sweeper positioning.
- Logging in with One Time Pins: Some users were not able to login to Myriad desktop applications using One Time Pins and would see an error message saying "Object reference not set to an instance of an object". This did NOT affect logging in to Myriad Anywhere.
- Importing/Replicating Media Items: Importing a transport file or replicating a media Item where the media item is set to "Basic Media Item" was wrongly setting the destination media item's type to the type for the range, rather than honouring the original source media item's Item Type.
v6.2.2 4th September 2023
New Features/Changes:
SegueEditor:
- The colouring on the Segue Editor has been subtly adjusted to more clearly separate the different areas and elements being edited. This is particularly improved in the the Light theme.
Database Settings:
- The "Remove all Changed/Deleted media item instructions from the database" button on the Advanced tab in the Database Settings window now also removes any "tombstone" information for media items that have been deleted from the MediaWall. This information is used by the Replication feature to make sure that items that are deleted locally are also queued for deletion on the remote site, so you should make sure that you have replicated fully before using this feature, or before changing to replicate to a different station.
Scheduled Log View:
- If you have specifically set the Log View to "Fill the entire item with colour", AND an item has had it's length adjusted via the SegueEditor or AutoFade, then timing text is now shown in bold instead of the usual red. This helps make the text more distinguishable against the background colour - a good example is Songs where the default light red colour meant that the adjusted length "red" colour was very hard to read.
SmartInfo:
Importing media files:
- Added extra handling for files that have corrupted file or folder names.
- Command Line Utility: ImportMediaInfoFromAutoTrack There is a new option in the Command Line Utility to automatically update Media Items with the information stored in AutoTrack. This works in the same way as the Media Report>Import From AutoTrack feature but can be run from the command line.
- This example imports all song items
- MyriadUtilityCL6.exe /Action=ImportMediaInfoFromAutoTrack /Database4=MyAutoTrackDbName /StationId=0 /ItemType=Song /ImportInformation=Titling,Category,Gender,Year,Copyright
Replication
- The timeout for the time it takes to upload a media item to the remote system has been changed to 1 hour - this is to help stations with slower upload connections that were finding very large files timing out during upload.
The following issues have been fixed:
- Scheduling: Item "adjacent day" separation rules would not fully separate some items if you scheduled more than 1 day at a time.
- SegueEditor: This would not correctly show any custom gain being applied to items that were being played as part of a rotating or random list.
- MediaEditor: Clicking AutoDetect to automatically detect the best custom gain would not show any information if it determined that the item did not need any adjustment.
- Mass Changer: If you used the Mass Changer to try and assign the same category again to a media item as the Secondary Category, the Media Report would wrongly update it's display even though that change actually wasn't made - this is because you cannot set the Primary and Secondary categories to the same category.
- Scheduled Log AutoFill: Autofill would not work if one or more of the categories being used to AutoFill had a Characteristic rule applied to them.
- Basic Splits (Hardware controlled): If Myriad was configured in Basic Splits mode then it would not send the hardware line trigger to activate the split, and Myriad was not correctly setting the estimated duration of the split item to the duration set in Station Settings.
- Station Item Type Colours: Color selections for the dark theme for each item type (e.g. song vs links vs adverts etc.) were not being saved correctly. You may need to reselect the colours you want in Station Settings after updating to this version.
- Logged out Dashboard: This would wrongly show the button to connect to the remote computer that was running the selected station.
- Main Menu: If you have a large number of Open Stations or running Commands, then the main menu would become compressed and several menu options would be inaccessible. Going forward, the menus are now always displayed correctly and the buttons are now cropped if absolutely nescessary.
- Finding next empty Media item: This would get slower and slower on databases that had had a very high number of items deleted. This could affect Jump to next empty item, recording new voicelinks, and adding new media items via the Media Library View.
- Now Playing View: Myriad would exit if you tried to switch to a layout that includes a Now Playing View when there is no station open.
- Log Export: Exporting to an Audacity project could cause Myriad to close if certain types of log item were included in the hour.
- Command Language: Using the command language to preview the hook for a media item that doesn't have a hook would wrongly leave a player in Preview mode even though nothing was previewed.
- Command Line Utility: This was not correctly respecting the /Silent option on the Command line for advert scheduling/unscheduling/merge.
- Advert Scheduling: Adverts would not be scheduled if the Secondary Category matched.
v6.2.1 12th July 2023
New Features/Changes:
Broadcast.Radio and SmartInfo Songfacts®:
- Broadcast Radio has partnered with Songfacts® to provide Song and Artist facts to radio stations using Broadcast.Radio streaming services to display those facts on the live web streaming player.
- As part of this partnership, stations that are also using Myriad Playout are now able to see those facts in the SmartInfo display. As with the Wikipedia display, Myriad will automatically download facts for each Media item that you select in the Media Grid or Library, or on the Scheduled Log.
- To show Songfacts information in Myriad you will need a Broadcast.Radio streaming service, and then all you need to do is go into Station Settings, and then on the Connections tab enter your Broadcast.Radio "API Key". You can find your API key in your broadcast.radio portal at https://my.broadcast.radio/station/x/options/playout You will also see an option on that settings tab to turn off Songfacts if you do not want to use it.
- If you don't have a streaming service with Broadcast Radio you can find out more information about it at https://www.broadcastradio.com/br-streaming#pricing - you don't actually need to be streaming via the service, you just need a streaming package, so if you do want Songfacts® but don't want to switch streaming provider then you can just subscribe an entry level streaming service and not use it, and this will enable the Songfacts® service onto your account.
- As well as showing facts for each song you can also view facts for the artist - in SmartInfo, there is a button on the top right of the Songfacts® display to switch between Song and Artist facts.
- The Songfacts® service is a US based service, but as well as US artists it also contains a huge amount of information about international artists.
- Important notice: Broadcast Radio does not control the data itself and information provided by the Songfacts® service must only be used as part of your Myriad based station broadcasts and the facts must not be copied or used outside of that service.
Characteristics (Energy/Tempo/Texture/Mood/Burnout)
- Characteristics are now available across all editions of Myriad - you can now categorise your songs and links by up to 6 different values across 5 new "Characteristics" - Energy, Tempo, Texture, Mood and Burnout.
- By default, Energy and Tempo are pre-populated with 3 values each to get you started, but you can edit the captions and add/remove values via the Categories and Attributes option on the Settings menu. AutoTrack users can also import the captions from their AutoTrack database via the normal "Import from AutoTrack/SE" button on the Categories and Attributes window.
- You set the characteristic value for each song/link on the Categorisation section of the Media Editor.
- You can import import existing characteristic values set on each Song and Link card in AutoTrack by running a Media Report then highlighting the items you want to import for and choosing the Import From AutoTrack option on the ribbon. Important - only the AutoTrack "Start" characteristic is imported as Myriad Schedule uses a single combined value rather than 2 separate values.
Artist Groups (Myriad Schedule Plus)
- Artist Groups: Myriad Schedule Plus users can now create Artist Groups and set rules to control separation - for example, you could create a "Spice Girls" group and add in the names of the individual members, as well as "The Spice Girls" and then use rules to ensure that a Emma Bunton song won't play too close to a Spice Girls, or Mel C song.
- Artist Group Management: To manage your Artist Groups, go into the new "Manage Artists/Item Titles" window and you will see an additional button to view all of your existing Artist Groups as well as showing the Group Members. You can also import existing Artist Groups from an AutoTrack database.
- (Experimental) Crowd sourced Artist Groups: You can also download a pre-built set of Artist Groups that Broadcast Radio has created and stored on a new crowd sourced data service.
- This service is available free of charge to Myriad Schedule Plus users, and the data it provides is gathered from other users.
- The first time you use this service it will ask you if you are happy to have your Artist Groups uploaded to the service to help improve the list of Groups offerered, and we encourage you to say yes to this so that it helps improve the lists of Groups then offered.
- As part of this service, you can also then allow Myriad to silently update that contribution if you later change the Artist Groups.
- Important: The data uploaded does not contain your personal name or any other details, and is reviewed and moderated manually before it's then made available to other users for download.
- Initially the available Artist Groups Collections are predominantly English language based artists, but we are keen to include Artist Groups from as many countries and languages as possible going forward, so we hope you will choose to upload your groups so we can keep improving this service.
- Artist Group Separation Rules: To add in the Artist Group separation rules, edit your Station Rules Set and select the category you want to add the rule to and click Add Rule and select it from the top of the list of available rules.
Artist/Title Management:
- There is a new menu option on the View menu to open the new "Manage Artists/Item Titles" window.
- From this window you can see a list of all Artists and Titles in your database, as well as seeing a full list of any Media items that they are used in - for example, by selecting the Artist "Kylie Minogue" you will then see a full list of all Media Items that have her listed as an Artist on your Media Wall.
- You can also edit those items - for example, if you have a misspelled artist, then editing their name here will then show the new corrected name on all Media Items that that Artist is listed on. There are also options to delete and manually create new Artists.
- There are also options to see a list of all unused Titles and Artists, and buttons to remove those unused items.
- You can also select 2 or more Artists and "Merge" them to under a single Artist Name which then edits all of the Media Items for the artists being merged and updates them to use the single new combined Artist. This is ideal for situations where you may have 2 or more artist names that refer to the same item - for example "Pink" and "P!nk" and want to merge them to make sure that Artist Separation works correctly.
- You can also open the Artist History report directly from this window for the selected artist.
Myriad Schedule:
- Clock Assignments (Myriad Schedule Plus): You can now have multiple Weeks per Clock Assignment Set - for example, you might have 2 weeks that are mainly identical, but during the drivetime show, Week 2 uses a slightly different clock to Week 1 to give each week a subtle bit of variety. You can have up to 8 weeks per Set, and you can also import them from AutoTrack Pro.
- Clock Editing: You can now specify an "Item Ending" type for Song and Link items in the Clock Editor. For example, you might want to specify that the last item in the hour must have an "End" Ending type.
- Clock Editing: there are new columns in Advanced Clocks to allow you to set a specific song or link to have a specific Characteristic - for example, the first song after the news might have to be an uptempo song.
- Clock Editing: There is a new option in the bottom left hand corner of the Clock window to show the Item Type colour all the way across the Clock grid, instead of just as a small prefix to the item type column.
- Station Rules: You can now set a Min/Max in a row for each of the Characteristics, as well as which level can follow each other - for example, you might not allow slow tempo songs to come immediately after fast tempo songs to prevent a rapid drop in tempo.
- To enforce these rules, make sure that each Category has the appropriate Characteristic Rule added to the list of rules to enforce - there are two rules - "Characteristic Follow in a row" and "Characteristic Min/Max/Sep in a row".
- AutoTrack users can use the Import Rules buttons on the List Station Rules window to import a pair of Show and Global Rules together into a new Station Rules set that includes any existing Characteristic settings from the AutoTrack database.
- Myriad Schedule Plus users can also set a minimum separation between items with the same value - for example, after scheduling a low energy song, at least 3 others songs must be play before another low energy song can be scheduled.
- Tested/Rejected Report: You will now see new items in the Tested/Rejected reports when an item is rejected due to Characteristic rules.
Per-User 'Stream Urls':
- Audio stream Media items can now be set to use a "Stream Url" for a specified Contact instead of needing the specific URL.
- You set the Stream URL for that Contact via User Security by editing that User and entering the Stream Url into their Contact card.
- For example, you might have several presenters who stream their show using private Icecast Streams and you want to keep that information in their User account rather than showing the stream URL on the Media Item itself.
- You might also have a presenter where you have multiple different length Media Items all streaming from the same Audio Stream for different shows that they present - for example a 1 hour show, a 2 hour show and a 3 hour show. By entering the Stream URL on their Contact instead, it means you only need to update that stream in one location if their stream location ever changes.
Media Items:
- Media Editing: Myriad now recognises " x " as a multi-artist separator.
- Mass Changer: You can now use the Mass Changer tool to set a Bound Item on multiple items simultaneously.
- Import Wizard: You can now import Gender, Type, Era and Tag information when loading a list from a CSV or XLS file.
- Publish to Mixcloud: This window has been updated to have dark and light theme, and the Track Section display section has been streamlined.
- Publish to Mixcloud: This now applies any Custom Gain that has been applied to the media item.
- Replication/Syncing: There are new options on the ribbon and on the right click menus to be able to easily download or upload media items from/to your remote station. These options are available on the Media Grid, the Media Library and the Media Report. Users must have the correct local permissions to be able to Sync Read/Write, as well as the account used to connect to the remote station having permissions in that database to alter the items being uploaded.
Scheduled Log/Dashboard:
- Dashboard: In Standby mode, the dashboard has been improved to make it much easier to see the details of which computer is running the log.
- Replication/Syncing: There are new options on the ribbon and on the right click menus on Hour Start items to be able to easily download or upload entire hours from the log from/to your remote station. Users must have the correct local permissions to be able to Sync Read/Write, as well as the account used to connect to the remote station having permissions in that database to alter the items being uploaded.
Now Playing Information:
- You can now also manually update the Show Presenters/Show Title information from the Set Now Playing window/tile. By default Myriad sends this information to OCP each time you start a new Log hour, but if you need to manually set this information - for example if a presenter is covering another presenter's show - then you can now do this via the Now Playing window/tile.
Reports:
- Media Report: There is a new option on the Media Report ribbon to control whether highlighting an item should also display that item in any visible SmartInfo windows or views.
- Media Report: In Advanced search mode, the Date/Hour restrictions button has moved to the right hand end of the ribbon adjacent to the new SmartInfo button.
- Play Log Reports: You can now quickly text search within Play Log results and also Group by column to easily track down and analyse your play histories.
- Software Version Report: This report has been updated to improve the name that is used when grouping software running on the same computer together.
Connections:
- By default, K600/K300 keyboards will now only work when a user is logged in. If you need to allow the keyboard to work even when logged out, there is a new setting in Playout Settings>Connections "Allow the keyboard to work even when when there is no user logged in."
The following issues have been fixed:
- MediaWall Grid: Selecting the Search tab was wrongly leaving the Jump buttons panel visible. This is now correctly being hidden to show more search results.
- Media Import Wizard: When loading the list of items to import from a file, the column that shows a clickable hyperlink to display the details of any file parsing errors would not open the window to show the list of errors.
- Media Editing: Editing an Advert then moving onto a new item, then changing it to be an advert would then wrongly show the Advert Scheduling information from the previous advert.
- Media Report: Export Transport files was not honouring the selected Export transport file audio format setting in Database Settings.
- Media Playback: Pressing a keyboard shortcut to start playing a looping item would require a second press to actually start the audio playing.
- Log Playback: Some users could not set the log running if the log had been scheduled by some versions of AutoTrack including v4.5SE.
- Dashboard SmartTransfer: The connection title was showing the name of the local computer, not the name of the computer it is connected to.
- Clock Editing: Dragging multiple lines around would cause Myriad to close.
- Scheduling: Artist Separation could sometimes reject a song based on a future play, even though it is actually outside the Separation.
- Scheduling: If you had specified a Start/End year for an item in the Clock, items could sometimes be selected from outside that year range if there were no other items available.
- Pad View: The number of items in the pad and the duration would not be displayed correctly in the dark theme if the Pad was shown in a layout in a frame, but would show correctly in a tab.
- Log View: Some icons including the time stretch indicators would show using the wrong colours in Light Theme
- User Security: You could not alter the end date for a user.
v6.1.4 21st June 2023
New Features/Changes:
Command Line Utility:
- ImportMediaFiles There is a new option in the Command Line Utility to mass import files listed in a file. This works in the same way as the ImportWizard but can be run from the command line.
- This example imports all media items listed in the "NewMusic.csv" file located in the C:\Import folder, overwriting any existing items if the new audio file is newer, and also looks for matching artwork in the D:\NewSongsArtwork folder. Finally, it writes the results to a report file in C:\Import\Results.HTML file:
-
MyriadUtilityCL6.exe /Action=ImportMediaFiles /StationId=0 /Filename=C:\Import\NewMusic.csv /ItemType=Song /OverwriteIfNewer /ReportFilename="C:\Import\Results.html" /ImagePath=D:\NewSongsArtwork
Replication:
- Support has been added for uploading to Myriad Cloud Standard. Downloading from Myriad Cloud requires a Myriad Cloud Pro or Ultimate subscription.
- Improved the warning message display if your Remote Station is not enabled for Myriad Anywhere Schedule.
The following issues have been fixed:
- Media Playback: Playing an item then recuing it when it had only a few seconds left until the end was reached would cause the item to be wrongly ejected from the player instead of re-cued.
- Media Import: In some very unusual situations, an audio file would not have the leading silence auto-topped correctly resulting in the Start being set to exactly 1 second into the Media Item.
- SegueEditor: Trying to adjust volume points in the Segue Editor when running with some non-English regional settings would cause the envelope points to disappear.
- SegueEditor: Myriad would close if you tried to display a segue that contains a very quiet or almost silent media item. This same issue could affect other displays of waveforms such as in the Media Players.
- Replication: The Scheduled Log hours to replicate summary information was being shown in UTC time, not in Local time.
- SmartTransfer: "Pulling" the Log from a remote computer would sometimes skip the next item in the log.
- SmartTransfer: If you attempted a SmartTransfer on the very last item in an hour and the next hour had a different Hour Mode, then that hour would be wrongly changed to match the current hour mode.
- SmartTransfer: In Light Theme, the graphics for the SmartTransfer steps were not being shown.
v6.1.3 17th May 2023
New Features/Changes:
MediaWall:
- MediaWall Grid: The Replace option that was previously only available on the right click menu is now also available on the Edit ribbon in the 'Edit/Move/Replace' group.
- Media Editor: The colour of the current cursor position indicator now follows the selected Theme.
Media Engine:
- Media Engine Settings: There is a new button on the Settings window to reset the player colours to the defaults.
The following issues have been fixed (17th May 2023 update):
- Mass Changer: Fixed a problem where you would be wrongly displayed a message that you had not correctly assigned a Tag to add/remove if you hadn't even selected the option to change the Tags.
The following issues have been fixed:
- Media Library: You could not drag the column headers into the Group By box.
- Media Import: Importing a media file that has multiple artists in it's embedded metadata would import all the Artist names on the first Artist Name as well as in the additional Artist Names fields.
- Media Editor: Exporting a section of a waveform to another Media Item would fail if your MediaWall is set to use Opus audio as the primary audio format.
- Media Editor: The full edit mode in the Media Editor would not change theme fully when switching between users who have selected different themes.
- Mass Changer: Ticking the option to add or remove a Tag from a Song or Link would wrongly display an error message that you had not selected any tags to alter.
- Mass Changer: Mass changing an Advert and ticking the option to set the Start or End dates but not specifying a date would cause Myriad to close.
- Log Playback: Changing the Log to Standby mode would automatically fade out the current item instead of leaving it playing.
- Segue Editor: Editing a Segue where one of the media items is an Audio Stream could cause Myriad to close.
v6.1.2 27th April 2023
New Features/Changes:
MediaWall:
- Media Editor: The name of the button to restore previously deleted versions has changed to "Restore Deleted" to better explain what it does.
- Media Editor: The list of previously deleted versions now shows the title of the item at the time it was deleted.
- Duplicate Media Finder: There is a new button on the Finder window to quickly see item information for the selected media item as well as seeing if it is currently scheduled in the open Station's Scheduled Log.
Scheduled Log and Log Playback:
- Social Media Log items have a new icon (a "hash" symbol).
- If Myriad detects that it's approaching the end of an hour but the next hour has not been scheduled - typically within the last 6 or 7 items from the end of the log - the "Emergency End Of Log" scheduler will now attempt to schedule without waiting for the result, so the Log no longer has to stop and wait while that happens. If Log Playback gets to within 2 items of the end of the hour and that process is still runnig, then it WILL then stop and wait for that scheduling process to complete to prevent the station stalling at the end of the log and going off air.
Scheduling:
- Saving an "Un-schedule" preset now also saves the state of the "Remove all" option as well as the per-category etc. options.
Twitter integration:
- Following Twitter's decision to remove basic access to it's API, the Artist Twitter feature has now had to be removed from SmartInfo.
- Myriad is also no longer able to use Twitter DM's as a method of Notifications, the recommended replacement is changing to https://pushover.net which is a much better solution.
Myriad Schedule:
- Clock Item Ending types: There is a new column in Myriad Schedule Clock Editor that lets you specify that the media item must have a specific End type - for example you might say that the last item in the hour MUST have an "Ends" type. This information is also now imported from AutoTrack Clocks.
- There is a new option in Station Settings on the Scheduler tab to set Myriad to schedule "For the next 2 hours" - this will ensure that you always have at least 2 hours ahead in the log.
User Security:
- There is a new option that requires Users logging in via Myriad Anywhere to setup their One Time Pin. If you turn this option on and restart Remote Edit Server, then users will no longer be able to skip the setup process when they next sign in via Myriad Anywhere.
- Note: This requires an update to Myriad Anywhere Cloud so may not be available immediately but will be made available in the very near future.
Advert Log File formats:
- Added support for a new "mmt" advert reconciliation file format that can be imported by Marketron's 3 products (Marketron Traffic, Visual Traffic and Radio Traffic). You will need to contact Marketron for details on how to relay this file into your MT software. To use this format, just set the reconciliation file extension in Station Settings to "mmt"
The following issues have been fixed (27th April 2023 update):
- Station Rules: Fixed a problem where editing the settings for a Station Rule would cause Myriad to exit.
The following issues have been fixed:
- Clock Editor: The clock editor could sometimes show odd colouring depending on the item type and whether the row was selected or not.
- Media Stream Playback: Fixed a problem where trying to right-click seek while playing a stream media item could cause Myriad to close.
- Media Stream Playback: Fixed a problem where streams would not play for more than an hour even if they have a longer maximum duration set.
- Media Recording: Audio would be recorded from the wrong device in some scenarios including with a D&R WebStation
- Media Library/Media Report: Right clicking on the header row would cause Myriad to exit.
- Media Library/Media Report: In Advanced search mode, dropping down a selector for a text field (for example the Title or Artists) could cause Myriad to slow down if you have thousands of different possible options for that field.
- Media Editor: Restoring an item would not work after a DST change
- Media Editor: Restoring an item would not display the audio in the full editor until you closed and re-opened the Editor window.
- Media Processing Window: Myriad would close if you attempted to detect the normalisation level for a media item in a range that doesn't have a normalisation type selected.
- Log Playback: If the next hour in the Scheduled Log has advert breaks, but there are no adverts to schedule for that particular hour, Myriad would keep trying to reschedule the ads for that next hour each time a segue happened during the last few items of the current hour.
- Log Playback: Myriad could erroneously try to time stretch live stream media items resulting in an error message being shown at play time.
- Log SmartTransfer: If you changed station while a SmartTransfer live preview was open, then then connection would not be disconnected and would then become visible again after selecting a different station.
- Log Export: Exporting an hour to Audition CC would not export correctly and Audition would only show the first track.
- Segue Editor: Segue Editing an item that is already showing in the Dashboard would not immediately trigger the Dashboard to update itself to reflect the changes made in the Segue Editor.
- Segue Editor: If you have a sweeper or voice link between two items, but the first song was still playing after the end of the Sweeper, attempting to seek to preview from AFTER the sweeper would still play the sweeper, but in the totally wrong place.
- Split Stations: Myriad could exit in some very rare situations at the start of a media item whilst internally synchronising now playing information from the main Myriad Station to one or more split stations.
- User Security: Creating/editing a new user was not showing the username correctly at the top of the window.
- Licensing: The Evaluation License was not showing the correct Product Name.
- Hardware Service: Fixed a problem where communication with the Hardware Service could stop after a few minutes.
- Firewall: The firewall rules would not be correctly updated/created in some non-english versions of Windows.
v6.1.1 22nd March 2023
New Features/Changes:
Media Items:
- Format Support: Myriad now can now additionally import from 24bit and 32bit audio files, even up to 96kHz.
- Importing Media: When importing media items, the original location, format and duration is now added to the User Security notes field so you can see more information about the original audio.
- Media Range Settings: There are new settings in Database Settings>Media Ranges so you can set a custom recycle period per range. For example, you might set the number of days to keep old deleted news bulletins from a 3rd party news service to only 1 day so that the hourly news bulletins that have been replaced with the latest version don't use up a large amount of disk space.
- Previous Versions: In the Media Editor Window, on the Edit ribbon, there is a new option to see a list of previously deleted versions of this Media Item. Selecting one of those versions will then ask if you want to restore it over the top of the current item, or into a different media item. Ideal for when you accidentally delete an item and urgently need it back! To enable this feature, go into Database Settings>MediaWall tab and turn on the 'Move deleted items to a 'Recycled' folder so they can be recovered if necessary' option.
-
Native Opus Audio support:
Myriad now has support for using the Opus audio codec as the main Mediawall format allowing very high quality audio but with a significant saving in disk space used. We strongly recommend that stations still use linear WAV files as these are truly lossless, but if space is a premium then OPUS may be a suitable option. If you configure Myriad to use OPUS as the native MediaWall format then no transcoding is needed for remote users to preview audio files.
- Important note: Due to limitations in the way Audacity handles OPUS files, you cannot export hours to Audacity project files if the hour contains any media items that are stored in the OPUS file format.
- Due to limitations in the way the opus file handler works, you also cannot "scrub" seek around in opus files by right clicking on the media player progress bars.
Scheduled Log:
- SmartTransfer: SmartTransfer now shows you a live preview of what is currently playing on the remote computer allowing you to see if it's a suitable time to proceed. Once you set the SmartTransfer running, you are also now shown the progress on the current item on the remote computer.
Myriad Schedule:
- Schedule Plus users can now have multiple Clock Assignment Sets which can be set to automatically become active during a specified date range - for example during the festive period you might want different clock assignments for each hour from your usual assignments.
- Clocks now have new "Show Title" and "Presenters" fields, which are separate from the existing "Clock Name".
- The Clock name is primarily designed for use within the station, whilst the new Show Title is targetted for use outside the station. For example, the breakfast show may be made up of 3 separate clocks called "Weekday Breakfast 1", "Weekday Breakfast 2" and "Weekday Breakfast 3", all of which are used to schedule the "Wake Up Today!" show. By entering "Wake Up Today!" in the Show Title field for all 3 clocks, this allows you to then use this information to send to Myriad OCP for use externally.
- Myriad OCP now has several new fields that allow you to access this Show Title and Presenter information. See the OCP Version History for more information.
- The Set Now Playing Info views have also been updated to allow you to manually update this information.
Database Settings
- There is a new button on the Advanced Tab to manually trigger the Housekeeping process immediately. The housekeeping process normally runs every new hours, but this button can be used to start the process running immediately.
Station Settings
- You can specify different background and text colours for Item Types to be used in the dark theme vs the light theme.
User Security
- By default, User events are now kept for 365 days and are then automatically deleted. You can change how long items are kept for, and even turn off the automatic cleanup from the Security Settings window.
General appearance and other visual changes:
- Dark Theme: By default Myriad is displayed using a new "Dark" theme, however if you prefer a light theme that is more in line with the older v5 appearance you an select this from the Customise Personal Preferences window on the View menu.
- ClockView: You can now customise the count down time format used in the ClockView by setting the <countdownTimeFormat>hh\:mm</countdownTimeFormat> property in the layout XML file. The default layout files have been updated to include this property.
Key changes compared to Myriad Playout v5:
Media Playback and Recording:
- All media is played back using our latest generation SMX6 Engine.
- The new SMX6 Engine is designed to help resolve issues caused by users accidentally changing default windows sound devices, as well as when Windows Updates cause audio devices to be redetected.
- You can also now select the "Default playback device" and "Default recording device" in the Media Engine Settings for each player/recorder.
Scheduled Log Playback:
- The AutoFade setting "If there are NO fadeable items before an Absolute Time" has been removed. The last item before an Absolute Time is therefore now allowed to be faded in this scenario. If you want to prevent items from being faded you should use the Soft Time marker instead as this is the correct way to achieve this.
Remote Access, REST Api and Command Line Utility:
- REST API: The REST Api path has changed to v6, so any REST api calls will need to be updated to use the new paths.
- REST API: Several fields used for the OnAir.SetShowInformation and OnAir.GetShowInformation REST Api methods have changed to reflect the new Clock Title and Clock Presenters options in Myriad Schedule.
- Remote access: Remote access is now via Myriad Anywhere or Myriad Playout Remote only.
- Command Line Utility:
- StationID: When specifying a specific Station ID you now need to use /StationId=n where n is the Station ID number to work on. In Myriad v5, some commands would take just a /Station=n parameter, but this must now be updated to use /StationId=n instead. This change is to bring all applications in line with the common standard of using /StationId=n
- Dates: When using a command that takes dates (such as ScheduleAdverts or replicating logs with a remote site) then you need to use /StartDate=x and /EndDate=y. In Myriad v5, these were often just /Start and /End, but these must now be updated to use /StartDate and /EndDate instead. This change is to bring all applications in line with the common standard.
Supported Operating Systems:
- Windows 10 or higher, or Windows Server 2016 or higher are now the required minimum operating system versions.
Hardware Service:
- Requires Hardware Service v5.18.1 or higher.
- The connection to the Hardare Service uses a new higher speed connection which allows for much faster data tranfser, as well as much faster automatic reconnection and performance if the connection to the Hardware Service is interupted.
Other changes:
- Supported audio formats: Support for some less common audio formats has been removed, for example you can no longer import from WMA, nor export to ogg, mp2 and WMA format audio files. To import/export these we recommend you use an external audio file format converter to convert the required format to or from a wav file.
- Recording to IMA ADPCM format audio files is no longer supported and should not be used. The IMA ADPCM codec is extremely old and more modern audio formats offer much better compression with considerably higher audio quality.
