v5.31.1 29th June 2022
New Features/Changes:
Myriad Anywhere Schedule:
- This release adds support for Myriad Anywhere Schedule. This is a separate licensed feature that allows Myriad Anywhere users to control almost all aspects of Myriad Schedule remotely. You can edit Clocks, Clock Assignments, Station Rules, Decks, even schedule and unschedule with the same level of power as using Myriad Schedule on-premise. Please see https://www.broadcastradio.com/myriad-5-anywhere#AnywhereSchedule for more details, or contact hello@broadcastradio.com for further information.
Myriad Anywhere News:
- This release adds support for Myriad Anywhere News. This is a separate licensed feature that allows Myriad Anywhere users to work remotely with an on-premise Myriad News SE database that is being managed by Myriad News Capture SE. Please see https://www.broadcastradio.com/myriad-5-anywhere#AnywhereNews or contact hello@broadcastradio.com for more further information.
- The first time you run Myriad Remote Edit Server v5.31.1 or higher, the older RES settings will be imported and stored in the database settings.
Myriad Anywhere Pro Features:
- Advert Management: You can now fully manage your Advert inventory via Myriad Anywhere Pro.
- User Management: You can fully manage your users via Myriad Anywhere Pro. Note, you cannot edit individual Security Permissions via Anywhere, if you need to alter these then you should use the normal user management in RES or Myriad Playout itself.
- Replacing Audio: You can now easily replace the audio for existing media items.
Myriad Anywhere Features:
- Added support for uploading related files when importing audio into new media items.
- Added new file transfer protocols to allow significantly faster uploads for users on high speed connections. This is supported by a new updated version of the Anywhere Tunnel service that is installed alongside the Remote Edit Server update. You may need to restart the Myriad Anywhere Tunnel for this option to activate the first time.
- Anywhere Tunnel Service: There are 2 new options on the Anywhere Cloud menu that let you restart the Anywhere Tunnel Service. The first attempts a soft-restart and does not require Administrative rights, the second forces the service to restart but does require Windows Administrator permissions.
User Security:
- There is a new User Security menu that allows you to configure the Security database options as well as managing your user accounts.
- To enable the options on the User Security menu you need to use the Login option at the top of the menu, and then you can access those menu options that your own security level allows.
- You should remember to "Logout" once you have finished to make sure that unauthorised users cannot use the security options.
Myriad Playout v5 Splits Support:
- Remote Edit Server can now be used by Playout Remote to remotely display Split Station displays for stations that are enabled for Playout Remote Pro then you can also see the status of all split players and the progress of each advert break as it plays.
Other changes:
- New "Active Tasks" pane: This pane is used to display long running tasks that a remote user has started before disconnecting - for example using Myriad Schedule to schedule multiple hours. When that user reconnects, they can then see the progress of the task that was left running.
- The first time you launch Myriad Remote Edit Server, if you have 2 or more Myriad Station Databases you will be prompted which Myriad Database RES will be configured to use. This database is then automatically used for all housekeeping and connections from Anywhere or RVT users.
- The settings for what preview format (bit rate/number of channels etc.) has moved into the Myriad Database Settings window at the bottom of the Media tab. This is so that the same settings will be used even if you have to move Remote Edit Server to another computer.
- Adds support for the new https://cloud.radio platform.
Security:
- When Myriad runs for the first time and creates the security database, the first user is now automatically assigned to the Administrators Security group. The defauly Security groups are also now pre-set with some recommended default permissions.
v5.29.4 1st March 2022
No major changes.
v5.29.1 7th December 2021
New Features/Changes:
User Management:
- LDAP Integration: You can now configure Myriad to check user passwords against an external LDAP Server. This is then used for local logins via Myriad Playout and Myriad Schedule, and also for remote logins via Remote Edit Server, for example with Myriad Anywhere, Myriad RVT and Myriad Remote Pro. For more information about this new feature please see https://broadrad.com/ldaphelp
Myriad Anywhere Support:
- Adds support for Myriad Anywhere Pro being able to edit Advert information on Media Items
Other Changes:
- Log Files are now written into a new sub folder under the Logs folder in the main Myriad Data Location.
v5.28.3 22nd September 2021
- Users with the Anywhere Pro feature enabled can now integrate their Broadcast.Radio web service with Myriad Remote Edit Server via Myriad Anywhere Cloud.
v5.28.1 11th August 2021
New Features/Changes:
Voice Link Audio Processing:
- You can now set Remote Edit Server to process all Voice links that are uploaded via Myriad Anywhere or RVT using an external command line utility, for example the StereoTool command line utility.
- To use this feature, from the Settings menu, choose Remote Edit Server Settings and then on the Audio tab turn on the processing feature and select the 3rd party command line processing tool you have installed. There is a preset option menu that will walk you through the settings needed to use Stereo Tool, but the feature should work with any 3rd party tool that takes command line options.
- The next time you upload a voice link, this will then be queued for processing a few moments after the upload has completed. This process happens asynchronously, so you can then carry on recording additional voice links and RES will then work through them all in turn.
- Adds support for features for Broadcast.Radio web service users.
v5.27.2
New Features/Changes:
Security improvements:
- Implemented extra internal security checking during the Login process to help prevent malicious users from attempting to access systems remotely.
v5.27.1 27th April 2021
New Features/Changes:
Myriad Anywhere Support:
- Adds support for Myriad Anywhere Pro being able to edit more types of Media Item.
- Adds support for Myriad Anywhere to be able to show SmartInfo information.
- Please see the Myriad Anywhere documentation for more information on the above features.
PIN Code (Multi-Factor Authentication) User Security:
- Myriad RES now supports Myriad Playout's new "One-Time PIN" (OTP) security feature.
- Note: OTP is only supported by Myriad Playout and Myriad Anywhere, Myriad RVT is not able use OTP.
- Myriad Anywhere Cloud already has support for this new feature, but if you are running Myriad Anywhere Self hosted, then you should not enable this feature until you have updated Myriad Anywhere to v5.27 or higher.
- Please see the following help articles for more information:
Per-Station/Hour Security:
- Adds support for the new User security permissions that allow you to control which Stations a user can access, and which hours can be edited.
- If a user is using Myriad Anywhere Studio Control (and also BR Live) then they will only be able to activate studio control and optionally connect to the live audio during the hours they have permissions to edit. You can set a "connect early" amount which will allow them to connect to the Studio X minutes before their show to allow them to prepare. This feature is enabled by default and is set to 10 minutes. You can adjust this setting on the Security tab in the Remote Edit Server Settings window
- Any RVT users will also need to install v5.27 to fully enable this feature. Until they update, a user running an older release of RVT WILL be restricted so that they can only open Stations they are allowed to, but they still may be able to edit hours that they do not have permissions for. Once they update to v5.27 then security will be fully applied.
- Please see this help article for more information: https://help.broadcastradio.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360021365419
Log Display:
- Adds support for sending Time Stretch information for the Scheduled Log to Myriad RVT users. Myriad RVT users will also need to update to v5.27 or higher to see the time stretch information.
Connections:
- The default maximum number of connections has changed to 20 to reflect the increased number of users working remotely. This will only affect new installations of Remote Edit Server and you can alter this setting in the Settings menu.
The following issues have been fixed:
- File Transfers were sometimes not being removed from the RES connection panel after completion.
v5.26.2 29th March 2021
The following issues have been fixed:
- There was a small but consistent rise in memory usage each time a new connection was made to RES - for example a fresh session from a Myriad Anywhere or Myriad RVT user. Over time this could build up to a large amount of memory.
- Myriad Anywhere: If 2 or more users were connected at the same, then when one disconnected, the others might no longer recieve automatic log display updates
v5.26.1 8th March 2021
New Features/Changes:
Broadcast Radio Live:
- This version of Remote Edit Server adds support for the new Broadcast Radio Live Room service. This is required to allow Myriad Anywhere Cloud Pro users to quickly connect directly to the Broadcast Radio Live Studio application running in their studios.
Media Information:
- Secondary Category information is now sent to remote users. You will need to update to Myriad RVT v5.26.1 to see this information.
User Security:
- There is a new File Locations option that allows you to specify a different Directory Database Name. This is useful for situations where you need to use a different user database for totally separate stations. This setting is stored per profile, so will affect all Myriad Applications on the same PC.
Myriad Anywhere Cloud:
- This release of Myriad RES ships with an updated Myriad Anywhere Cloud tunnel application service that significantly improves connection performance, particularly for users with a heavy workload or a high number of concurrently connected users.
- This new tunnel service also improves performance for users who regularly download or upload a lot of media files.
- To use the new service please choose the Restart the Anywhere Tunnel Service option from the Anywhere Cloud menu.
v5.25.4 19th January 2021
New Features/Changes:
- SmartInfo: Year information is now also sent for SmartInfo items.
The following issues have been fixed:
- Connections from older Myriad RVT v5.24 and earlier: Users connecting to RES v5.25 would see a message about GetStationSettings containing invalid values.
- Media List items were not being displayed in the Scheduled Log items with the correct duration, and dragging an item into the Log would add one of the members of the List rather than the list itself.
v5.25.3 6th January 2021
No major changes.
v5.25.2 15th December 2020
The following issues have been fixed:
- Main Window: Dragging the horizontal 'splitter' to resize the log display section to a very small height would cause RES to close.
- Editing certain non media items (e.g. Split Groups): The length would not update in the log display when changing to a different item.
v5.25.1 25th November 2020
New Features/Changes:
Per-Station Categorisation and new Attributes:
- Myriad RES and Myriad RVT now supports the new per-station attributes feature as well as Tags, Types, Genders and Eras (if enabled). Users need to update to Myriad RVT v5.25.1 or higher to see the additional attributes.
Display:
- The connections display now shows the software and version that the remote connected users are using
Logging:
- The browser version of the end user is now logged into the Directory history as a new "Information" System event type. This can help with diagnosing issues with users using out of date web browsers. To see these events in the Directory History you need to change the filter to show "System" events.
v5.24.4 November 2020
New Features/Changes:
SegueEditor:
- Myriad Remote Edit Server and Myriad Remote Voice Tracking v5.24.4 now both support the new Database settings option "After recording a new Voice Link, prompt the user to review the new External Reference before saving" which will ask you to confirm the External Reference that is assigned to that Voice Link. RVT Users must also update to v5.24.4
The following issues have been fixed:
- Segue Editing: If a Myriad Anywhere or Myriad RVT user segue edited an advert log item, then any External Reference that had been supplied by a 3rd party traffic system would be lost.
v5.24.2 23rd September 2020

- Security: Additional Security options have been added to allow future releases of Myriad Anywhere to allow the user to change their password.
The following issues have been fixed:
- Media Library Search: Users searching for a simple percentage symbol '%' would be returned all items. Searching for a square bracket '[' could also cause problems.
v5.23 13th May 2020
New Features/Changes:
Application Settings
- A new setting has been added to the Application Settings window to allow you to configure the "Staging Directory". This directory is used by Myriad Anywhere to upload temporary files for later use.
User Management and Security:
- Remote Edit Server supports the new options to link a User account to a Windows Active Directory user account for password authentication - this means RVT and Anywhere users still login with their usual Myriad Username, but now use the same password as they use to login to Windows and other services. To do this, in Myriad Playout, edit the contact and add in the username in the format domainname\username - for example "HotRadio\Bob"
- Remote Edit Server supports the new option in Directory Settings that allows users to login using their primary email address as set on their Contact Details. They can then login either using their username or email address. After changing this setting in Myriad Playout, you must restart Myriad on all other PC's including Remote Edit Server.
Tools:
- There is a new menu option that allows you to create a test connection to a Myriad Playout. This helps with diagnosing issues with Myriad Playout Remote or Myriad Anywhere Playout Remote connections not being able to connect to the studio.
Myriad Anywhere Tunnel Service:
- The Tunnel Service has been updated to reconnect more reliably on less stable connections. (The new Tunnel App version is v5.22.20108.32)
The following issues have been fixed:
- If a Myriad Anywhere user dragged a Script or Social item from the MediaWall into the log it was not being correctly converted into a Script or Social log item.
- The Maximum number of Connections was always being reset to 10.
v5.22 (Release 2) 7th April 2020
New Features/Changes:
Myriad Anywhere Cloud (Beta):
- There is a new menu option that allows you restart the Myriad Anywhere Tunnel Service from within Remote Edit Server user interface.
- The Myriad Anywhere Tunnel service has been updated with additional support and handling for less stable network connections.
The following issues have been fixed:
- If a remote RVT user tried to delete a voicelink that was actively being played in a media player elsewhere then RES would display a popup error message, and the connection could be terminated.
v5.22 26th February 2020
New Features/Changes:
Myriad Anywhere Cloud (Beta):
- There is a new menu option that configures the optional connection to the Myriad Anywhere Cloud. This installs a new windows service ("Myriad Anywhere Tunnel") that allows Myriad RES to be contacted by the Myriad Anywhere Cloud service to allow remote edit users with almost zero configuration. For more information about the Myriad Anywhere Cloud please visit https://www.myriadanywhere.com
- Note: This may require additional downloads from Broadcast Radio, please contact us for more information
Checking for Updates (Experimental new feature):
- There is a new menu option on the Help menu which will check for any updates to Myriad Remote Edit Server. This will only check for "Full Release" status updates.
The following issues have been fixed:
- RES Configuration Tool: Myriad Remote Edit Server would close if you tried to run the RES Configuration tool, but then cancelled it from the Windows UAC Prompt window that is then displayed.
v5.21 20th November 2019
VERY IMPORTANT: You should make that your RVT Users know they should only upgrade to Myriad RVT v5.21 or higher AFTER you have completed upgrading your Myriad Playout PCs to Myriad Playout v5.21. This is to resolve issues with the Segue Edit Volume points being misgenerated by older versions of RVT. If a user uses a v5.21 of RVT to record into a log that is being played out by Myriad v5.19 or earlier then some volume changes will not be played correctly.
New Features/Changes:
Logging:
- In Full mode, Myriad RES now logs more information about which items have been edited/deleted to help track down users accidentally editing/removing the wrong Log items.
The following issues have been fixed:
- Log Editing: If a user edited a log item in the OnAir hour then the log data was not being fully flagged as needing the timing to be updated by the On-Air PC.
Other internal changes:
- HA transitioned to dedicated AC.
v5.19 10th September 2019
New Features/Changes:
Security options:
- By default, Myriad Remote Edit Server will now refuse connections from users with blank passwords, or where the password is set to the same as the username - e.g. username Bob, password Bob. You can allow these simpler passwords via a new Security option in Application Settings.
- There is a new Myriad Permission that can be set on a Security Group or on a specific User's account that controls whether they can access Myriad remotely via RVT or via Myriad Anywhere.
Connections:
- Remote Edit Server has a new "Myriad Anywhere" data connection that defaults to TCP port 6947. For more information about Myriad Anywhere, please visit http://broadrad.com/anywhere
The following issues have been fixed:
- Log Editing: A user could still accidentally create a new blank log hour in some scenarious by dragging an item into the log, even if they did not have the Mass Edit permission in their Security Permissions.
- If a media item was empty and available on the MediaWall, but still had an audio file left behind (which would have shown with the orphaned media "sad face" in Myriad Playout) then Myriad RES would fail to save a new voice link that had been recorded and uploaded into that Media ID.
v5.18 18th June 2019
New Features/Changes:
Database Selection:
- There is a new option in Remote Edit Settings that allows you to limit RVT users so they can only connect to a single Database.
Security:
- User History action logging has changed - the Location field will now always show the name of the computer running Remote Edit Server, and the IP address of the connected RVT user is now appended to the Notes field instead.
v5.17 15th April 2019
The following issues have been fixed:
- Fixed a problem where Myriad RES could exist after clicking OK in the Settings window.
v5.16 February 2019
Important: You must update to the latest version of Remote Voice Tracking to use this version. This is to enable the new Live Read Scripts feature (see below).
New Features/Changes:
Live Read Scripts:
- Support has been added to allow Remote Voice Tracking users to read the Live Read Scripts.
- Important: This feature is only available if the user is using Remote Voice Tracking v5.16 or higher.
v5.15 13th November 2018
Important: You must update to the latest version of Remote Voice Tracking to use this version. This is to enable the new Multi-Station Settings feature (see below).
Changes in this release:
Media File Cache Pre-Seeding:
- There is a new option on the Tools menu to create preview audio files for a range of Media items. This prevents RVT users having to wait for RES to create the preview files to send to RVT users the first time a Media Item is requested.
- This is equivalent to the "Pre-seed audio cache" function from Myriad Remote Edit Server v4.
Other changes in this release:
- You can now limit how many Media Items are returned for a Search query. This is particularly useful on very large databases accessed over slower connections which can result in the connection timing out before the results are fully sent to the Remote Voice Track User. The default is set to 1000, but you can also set this to 0 to disable this feature.
- Added support for Multi-Station Settings. See the Myriad Playout Version History for more details on this new feature.
- Because of the changes needed to support Multi-Station settings, Remote Voice Tracking users will need to update to the RVT v5.15.
The following issues have been fixed:
- After several days of running RES would stop receiving new Voice Links from RVT Users. The way Myriad RES decodes these recieved Opus files has changed to resolve this issue.
v5.14 (Release 4) 29th October 2018
Changes in this release:
- Files from received RVT clients are now decompressed using the local temp folder instead of over the network. Multiple retry attempts are made to move the uploaded files to the Myriad Media Location if it fails the first time.
- Additional debug logging has been added to diagnose issues with remote file recieve resulting in missing audio.
v5.14 (Release 2) 24th September 2018
The following issues have been fixed:
- Myriad RES would occasionally show an error message if it lost the connection to the database server whilst deleting a media item.
v5.14 12th September 2018
Changes in this release:
- The way Myriad RVT and Myriad Remote Edit Server (RES) store the cached preview files has changed, so you will see some items that were cached by previous releases of RVT being re-downloaded.
- Myriad RVT now regularly "pings" Myriad RES to make sure the connection is still available, even if you are not actively using RVT.
The following issues have been fixed:
- Myriad RES would sometimes not be able to re-read the Myriad RES Security Certificate from the local Windows Certificate store, meaning that RES was not able to accept incoming RVT connections.
v5.12 12th July 2018
Important: You must update to the latest version of Remote Voice Tracking to use this version. This is to support the improvements in the Library Searching.
New Features/Changes:
- Myriad Remote Edit Server will now automatically configure the windows firewall the first time you run it.
- Support has been added for the new Advanced Search feature in Myriad Remote Voice Tracking.
v5.11 June 2018
New Features/Changes:
First public release
Important Change since Preview Release:
The Ports used by Remote Edit Server have changed to 6948 and 6949 - if you have setup any port forwarding on any routers, or have existing connection details in RVT then you may need to alter them accordingly.
