New Features/Changes:
Mobile App Notifications:
- If you are using a Broadcast Radio app for your station you can now send push notifications directly to your listeners mobile phones from the scheduled Log.
- To add an app notification to the scheduled log, just insert a Social Post and choose the new in-app notification option. This notification will then be sent out when that item "plays" in the scheduled log.
- If you don't have a Broadcast Radio app from us already, then please visit https://broadrad.com/apps for more information or contact hello@broadcastradio.com
- If you do already have an app, then you may need to have this updated to support the new notification feature - please contact support for more information.
Other changes:
- HTTP Outputs (OCP Pro): HTTP outputs now have the "alternate" strings feature that works the same way as the IP/Serial and DAB outputs.
- Legacy Broadcast Radio Player Output: This has now been marked as "Legacy" and "Deprecated". Although this output will still work, if you are still using the older Broadcast Radio Player, please contact hello@broadcastradio.com to get your account moved over to the new https://broadcast.radio platform instead.

v5.28.1 11th August 2021
New Features/Changes:
Posting to Twitter:
- Important: If you use the post to twitter feature you will need to re-authenticate the OCP Station with your Twitter account. To do this, go into the Station Settings and on the Social Media tab click the Authenticate button.
- Due to increased enforcement of the Automation Rules from Twitter, @mentions can no longer be reliably used in Tweets from automated applications. Continued use of these will result in your Twitter account being blocked and can result in the Myriad OCP application being blocked for all users. Therefore, by default, any @ symbol in Tweets will now be removed prior to posting. You should use #hashtags instead where appropriate.
- If you do need to use @mentions then you can use the new custom API keys option detailed below. You will need to create a Twitter Developer account and follow the rules at https://help.twitter.com/en/rules-and-policies/twitter-automation to prevent your account being blocked.
- You can now use your own Twitter Developer account to send tweets. Once you have obtained your API key and API Secret Key from Twitter, you can now enter these into the OCP Station Settings window and re-authenticate. If you are using your own API Keys then the above restriction on @Mentions does not apply and you take full responsibility for uploading the Twitter Automation rules.
- Please note that Broadcast Radio Support is NOT able to provide support or assistance in setting up a Twitter Developer account as this is complex process and you should only use it if you are confident in your technical abilities to work with API keys.
v5.27.1 27th April 2021
New Features/Changes:
Display:
- There is a new View menu which contains the options to Expand and Collapse the stations.
- The Media Browser menu item has moved to the new View menu.
Settings:
- There is a new button on the Settings window that will automatically re-create the Windows firewall exceptions needed to allow remote connections to Myriad OCP.
v5.26.2 29th March 2021
New Features/Changes:
Format Creator/Previewer:
- Show and Presenter information has been moved to it's own area of the tree to make finding them easier. The caption for Show Title has also been updated to note that it refers to the Clock Name when using Myriad Schedule.
- Item Types are now shown in a separate node in the tree to make it easier to discover and understand their functions. The captions have also been updated to make it clearer what each tag does.
- There is a new combined ItemType and Category tag - <OCP_NOW_ITEMTYPECATEGORY> and <OCP_NOW_MEDIA_ITEMTYPECATEGORY> which allows you to, for example, use a conditional check for a given item type and category - e.g. Songs in Category 6 are "Song6".
The following issues have been fixed:
- The Media ItemType tags were not returning the same values as the matching tags for Log Items. Due to these changes you should now review your strings to check they perform the same way as expected.
v5.26.1 8th March 2021
New Features/Changes:
Broadcast Radio SmartSign Output:
- You can now edit the text format that is sent to the SmartSign.
Myriad OCP new outputs:
- Shoutcast v2: (Standard+Pro) You can now easily add an output to send now playing information to a Shoutcast v2 streaming server.
- mereRadio.dk: (Pro only) You can now easily add an output to send now playing information to mereRadio in Denmark.
User Security:
- There is a new File Locations option that allows you to specify a different Directory Database Name. This is useful for situations where you need to use a different user database for totally separate stations. This setting is stored per profile, so will affect all Myriad Applications on the same PC.
REST API:
- OpenAPI: Myriad OCP has an all new OpenAPI based REST API (aka 'Swagger') based at http://localhost:9180/BrMyriadOCP/v5/swagger/
- Documentation: There is a new Help>Documentation menu option to take you directly to the new OpenAPI REST API information.
- This allows you to easily query the current status of Myriad OCP and it's Stations.
Other Changes:
- The Show Format Creator has moved to the per-station dropdown button menu so you can access it for each station. The Format Creator has also had a slight graphical update to bring it in line with other window styles.
The following issues have been fixed:
- Myriad Playout does not send full information about a Media Item to OCP, resulting in some OCP tag outputs being empty. Myriad OCP now reads the full information about a Media Item if it has a valid connection to a Myriad Database.
- Changing the Minimise to System Tray option would not load the previously added Stations after restarting OCP.
- The Format Creator was always showing the information from the first station, not from the selected station.
- You were not correctly asked for the Login Name when adding a custom output that requires one.
- OCP Standard users could not add an Icecast output if they had already added some other types of output, for example BR Encoder or BR MyStation.
v5.25.3 6th January 2021
The following issues have been fixed:
- Myriad OCP would sometimes stall if a station recieved multiple updates in very quick succession.
- Using a File or FTP output would result in a slow build up of temp files in the Windows temp folder.
- Myriad OCP Plus users were not able to use use the NEXT02, NEXT03 etc. tags to show information for items that are more than 1 item in the future.
v5.25.2 15th December 2020
New Features/Changes:
File Outputs:
- OCP Standard users can now add 2 File/FTP outputs.
Media Tags:
- <OCP_NOW_MEDIA_DISPLAYAS> now returns the normal ItemTitle if there is no Display As set, and <OCP_NOW_MEDIA_DISPLAYBY> returns the normal Artists information if not set.
v5.25.1 25th November 2020
New Features/Changes:
First public release.
Myriad
OCP v5 is similar to OCP v4 and OCP SE, however there are some important differences:
- Myriad OCP v5 has a new streamlined look, including the ability to "collapse" the display to reduce the amount of information shown on screen.
- In older versions a Service was added and configured and the settings stored locally on that PC, but in Myriad OCP v5 they are the Stations that already exist in the Myriad database. When you "Add a Station" to Myriad OCP, it will ask you which existing station you want to use, and will offer to automatically add the correct setting to the Station Settings on the Connections tab.
- The File output can now send to FTPS servers using SSL over FTP.
- Posting to Twitter and Facebook is now done natively within OCP v5 itself rather than using separate applications, this also makes setting these up much more straight forward.
- Important: You can no longer send continuous "now playing" updates to Twitter and Facebook as these will get your social media accounts blocked. Instead, use the Social Post Log items to send occasional updates instead.
- A new tag has been added - <OCP_NOW_PICTUREBASE64> (and <OCP_NEXT_PICTUREBASE64> etc.). This is useful for embedding the first image of a Media Item directly into an HTML file for uploading to a website, without having to upload the .jpg file to an FTP site.
- Several new output templates have been added: including MyStation by Broadcast Radio and Deva Broadcast SmartGen. Some of these outputs will need a Station Enabler Code to activate OCP Pro mode.
- The option to remove '<' and '>' characters from the Show title (Clock) and Presenter names before outputting the metadata has been added, in addition to the option to remove them from the Title and Artist fields.
- Myriad OCP v5 has native support for non-ASCII characters for example far east character sets.
Windows 7 compatibility:
Important note: the technology that is used by Myriad Playout to connect to Myriad OCP v5 uses 'Websockets' which are not available on Windows 7. When either Myriad Playout v5 or Myriad OCP v5 are running on Windows 7 it have to use an older fallback technology that is slower and does not offer the same connection stability.
Officially therefore, Myriad OCPv5 is not supported running on Windows 7. This first release will run and should work well for most users, but due to the underlying technology differences we are not able to provide support for any connection or performance issues when running on Windows 7. Windows 7 itself is no longer supported by Microsoft, and we strongly recommend upgrading to Windows 10 Professional.
You should consider this carefully if you are using Windows 7 either for the PC running Playout or OCP. For more information about our support for features like this under Windows 7 please see Myriad Playout v5 features that are not supported or unavailable when running on Windows 7.
