Myriad Remote Voice Tracking v5 - Version History
v5.32.1 28th March 2023
No major changes.
v5.31.1 29th June 2022
IMPORTANT: This release of Myriad RVT requires Myriad Remote Edit Server v5.31 or higher. Please contact your System Administrator for information on whether they have upgraded Myriad Remote Edit Server.
New Features/Changes:
Segue Editing:
- SegueEditor: Users are now prevented from trying to add volume instructions to Songs in the log that are actually media lists with more than one item in. This is because these lists cannot have the volumes adjusted during playback. This does not affect list items that only play a single item.
SmartInfo:
- Live Read Scripts: There is a new Scripts tab on the SmartInfo View that shows all available live read scripts - this is the same list that is available from the Scripts menu. You can turn this tab on and off from the settings cog button.
The following issues have been fixed:
- Log Editing: Adding a Split Group item to the log manually would not honour the setting to set the chain type to Auto.
- Audio Monitor View: The AudioMonitorView would not display in a horizontal orientation.
- Showing Item Information from Log: This did not show additional information like Release Year or notes etc.
v5.29.1 7th December 2021
Adds support for the new features added to the Log Display in Myriad Playout v5.29.
v5.28.4 2nd November 2021
New Features/Changes:
Log Display:
- Based on feedback from stations, Soft Deleted items now always show their duration on screen so you can easily see which items might be best to "un-soft-delete" when you are working on your hour timings.
v5.28.1 11th August 2021
No major changes.
v5.27.2 April 2021
The following issues have been fixed:
- Media Engine in SMX v5 mode: Users would see an error message about configuring the audio devices, and audio would not play.
v5.27.1 27th April 2021
Note: Some features may only be enabled when connected to Myriad Remote Edit Server v5.27.1 or higher.
New Features/Changes:
Per-Station Security:
- Adds support for the new per-station security options that were added in Myriad Playout and RES v5.27

Appearance and Layouts:
- Myriad has a new flatter appearance for many items including Media Items, and Log items.

- Segue Editing: Fixed an issue where Myriad could exit whilst starting a Segue playing.
v5.26.1 8th March 2021
New Features/Changes:
Note: Some features may only be enabled when connected to Myriad Remote Edit Server v5.26.1 or higher.
MediaWall and Media Library Display:
- Secondary Category information is now shown on the MediaWall Grid view and in the Search results on the Grid and in the Library View.
v5.25.4 25th January 2021 (Updated)
VERY IMPORTANT: You should not use this release of Myriad RVT unless the radio station has upgraded Myriad Playout to v5.25 or higher. Please contact your System Administrator for information on when they are upgrading Myriad Playout.
The following issues have been fixed:
- New voice links would not show their waveform until you refreshed the Segue Editor display.
- (25th January 2021 Update) Recording or playing a link into/out of a list of items would not play the list correctly.
v5.25.3 6th January 2021
No major changes.
v5.25.2 15th December 2020
VERY IMPORTANT: You should not use this release of Myriad RVT unless the radio station has upgraded Myriad Playout to v5.25 or higher. Please contact your System Administrator for information on when they are upgrading Myriad Playout.
The following issues have been fixed:
- Expanding the Categories list in the Library view could cause RVT to close if one or more Category or other attribute name was missing from the station database.
v5.25.1 25th November 2020
VERY IMPORTANT: You should not use this release of Myriad RVT unless the radio station has upgraded Myriad Playout to v5.25 or higher. Please contact your System Administrator for information on when they are upgrading Myriad Playout.
New Features/Changes:
Per-Station Categorisation and new Attributes:
- Myriad RVT now supports the new per-station attributes feature as well as Tags, Types, Genders and Eras (if enabled).
Log Editing:
- You can now add Soft Times to the Scheduled log using the Log editor.
v5.24.4 November 2020
New Features/Changes:
MediaWall:
- Hovering over the Media ID on a Media Item now shows you the Media ID and the External Reference (if assigned)
SegueEditor:
- Myriad RVT now supports the new Database settings option "After recording a new Voice Link, prompt the user to review the new External Reference before saving" which will ask you to confirm the External Reference that is assigned to that Voice Link. This is useful for stations that are using Myriad to produce syndicated shows that are distributed using the External References to other stations and other playout systems. This requires Remote Edit Server to be updated to v5.24.4
The following issues have been fixed:
- Segue Editing: If a user segue edited an advert log item, then any External Reference that had been supplied by a 3rd party traffic system would be lost.
v5.24.2 23rd September 2020
The following issues have been fixed:
- Segue Editor: In certain situations removing unused volume points from a "duck" at the start of a Song would result in the end of the song not being faded out correctly.
- Segue Editor: If you had manually altered the ending the volume points of an item, then decided to record a voice link over the end instead, those alterations were not being removed before starting the new voice link process.
- Segue Editor: Myriad would sometimes exit whilst editing a Segue, particularly one that contains an unusual number of volume adjustments on a segue item.
- Soundcard auto-detection: Myriad RVT would sometimes fail to start due to attempting to auto-detect and configure for certain audio devices such as M-Audio Delta and Duo Capture, particularly if Myriad v4 was previously used on that pc.
v5.24.1 19th August 2020
New Features/Changes:
Scheduled Log/Log Playback:
- AutoFade Dropping options: The availability of Drop/fade options for Log items has changed due to new options with song/link dropping. Please see the main Myriad Playout Version History document for more information.
v5.23 13th May 2020
New Features/Changes:
User Management and Security:
- You can now login using your email address as an alternative to your username. This requires your system administator to add your email address to your user account, but can then used in any Myriad Playout v5 product.
- If your system administrator has enabled it, you can now login using the same password as your Windows Active Directory account.
The following issues have been fixed:
- Editing Auto-Hooks: Editing an AutoHook would cause Myriad RVT to close.
v5.22 26th February 2020
New Features/Changes:
Checking for Updates (Experimental new feature):
- There is a new menu option on the Help menu which will check for any updates to Myriad Remote Voice Tracking. This will only check for "Full Release" status updates.
Security:
- There is a new option on the Login Window to control whether your password should be remembered for the next time you login.
v5.21 (Release 3) 6th January 2020
New Features/Changes:
Segue Editor:
- Clicking the button to change the Chain Type of a Voice link now prompts you to make sure you definitely want to change the voice link to no longer be swept between the two adjacent items.
The following issues have been fixed:
- Segue Editor: When recording a voice link, pressing the Play Next button BEFORE starting the Voice Link recording would result in the voice link being inserted into the wrong place over the incoming item.
- Segue Editor: The display could update while in the middle of saving a new Voice link segue, leading to the Segue Editor displaying partially stale information.
- Segue Editor: Changing the position of a Voice Link at the end of the currently playing item would not correctly update Log Playback with the new positions of the voice link and the second item.
- Segue Editor: The Save and Abandon buttons were wrongly being displayed whilst recording a new Voice Link.
- Log Editor: Right clicking between different item types would sometimes result in the wrong menu options being disabled/enabled.
v5.21 20th November 2019
VERY IMPORTANT: You should not use this release of Myriad RVT unless the radio station has upgraded Myriad Playout to v5.21 or higher. Please contact your System Administrator for information on when they are upgrading Myriad Playout.
New Features/Changes:
Pad:
- You can now use a streamlined version of the Pad in Myriad RVT.
- An example Layout including the Pad can be found on the "Install Layout" menu.
Layout Changes:
- The gap between each tile has been slightly reduced to tighten up the visual appearance of Myriad. You can also now configure this by a new margin property that has been added to the layout file's header element. For example margin="2,2,2,2" will double the gap between tiles. The format is left, top, right, bottom, so entering 10,5,0,0 would give a very large gap at the left of each tile, a half size gap at the top of each tile, and minimal gap to the right and below. All default layouts now have this property.
The following issues have been fixed:
- Log Display: Inserting a Script with only a single line of text including a full stop would sometimes then fail to re-display when double clicked on.
- SegueEditor: Fixed several display, playback and recording issues relating to Media items with Overall Start or End timing markers set.
- SegueEditor: Recording a new voicelink would mark the item following the voice link as "Not Droppable"
- SegueEditor: Recording a new voice link, or editing a Swept item in between items that already have some manually added Volume points could cause "Segue Spaghetti" with zig-zag volume lines being displayed in the Segue Editor.
- SegueEditor: Recording a new voice link into a very short item would show Segue Spaghetti on that short item.
- SegueEditor: Dragging the bottom item in a Segue beyond the left hand side of the view would not update the Waveform to show the new position.
- International Date/Time Formats: Myriad would fail to load Layouts at startup if running in certain countries native date formats - e.g. Norwegian.
Other internal changes:
- HA transitioned to dedicated AC.
v5.19 10th September 2019
New Features/Changes:
Log Display:
- Log Items now have a smoother, cleaner appearance.
- Command Items now show the Item Title from the Media Item.
- There is a new ribbon option to print out a range of hours from the Log.
The following issues have been fixed:
- Log Editing: Replacing a Log Item would not clear any Volume points that had been added and the Segue Editor would not update to show the replacement item until you refreshed the view.
- Caching: Recording a new voice link into a Media Item that was recorded previously by RVT (and subsequently deleted on the main Myriad Playout database) would result in that previous audio being re-uploaded instead of the newly recorded voice link.
- Printing an hour from the Log would not work.
v5.18 (Release 2) 15th July 2019
The following issues have been fixed:
- Media Engine Settings: Going into Media Engine Settings could cause RVT to close.
- Media Library: Doing a basic search after doing an Advanced search for a specific Category would not return the correct results.
- Login Window: Pressing the 'enter' key after entering a password was not triggering the login validation process.
- Log Editing: Soft deleting/restoring a Log Item would not update the Log Timing display.
v5.18 18th June 2019
Media Library View:
- By default, the Media Library search results will now exclude items that are restricted based on the date or Hour (using the Scheduling Hour Restrictions). You can turn off this filter via the View tab.
- Advanced searching: There is a new Scheduling Tab that allows you to filter the results by only those that can be/can't be scheduled by Myriad Schedule.
- Advanced searching: You can now limit the Search Results to only contain items that are set to "Play as a Sweeper".
AutoHooks/Scripts/Social Media Items:
- The AutoHook editor window now has browse buttons next to the Media ID's making it much easier to choose the correct items.
- The AutoHook, Script and Social Media editor windows now have the same look and feel as other Log item editing windows.
Other changes:
- There is a new option on the File menu to clear the local cache - this is the same as the option in the Settings window, but makes it easier to access should you need to purge older audio cache files.
The following issues have been fixed:
- Media Library: Changing to Advanced Search then selecting an Item Type would correctly fill in the Category dropdown, but then later changes to the Item Type would not update the drop down.
v5.17 15th April 2019
The following issues have been fixed:
- Dragging multiple items into the Log from the Media Library would not automatically update the Log display.
v5.16 February 2019
New Features/Changes:
Live Read Scripts:
- There is a new "Scripts" menu that shows a list of the available Live Read Scripts read from the Remote Edit Server.
- If the Log contains a Script that is linked to a Live Read Script file then this is shown in SmartInfo and also displayed when double clicking on the Log Item.
- Important: This feature is only available if you are connected to a Remote Edit Server running v5.16 or higher.
The following issues have been fixed:
- Local Media cache: Myriad would not run reliably with the local Media Cache format set to mp3
- Local Media cache: Periodically RVT would stop uploading new voice links and would have to be restarted.
v5.15 13th November 2018
Important: You must update to the latest version of Remote Edit Server to use this version. This is to enable the new Multi-Station Settings feature (see below).
New Features/Changes:
Multi Station:
- Added support for Multi-Station Settings. See the Myriad Playout Version History for more details on this new feature.
- Because of the changes needed to support Multi-Station settings, this release will only connect to Remote Edit Server v5.15 or higher.
Version checking:
- Myriad RVT now checks the version of the Remote Edit Server that it is connecting to, and if the version is too old, reports a more friendly message explaining why it cannot connect.
Other changes in this release:
- The Remote Edit Server now limits how many Media Items are returned for a Search query. If your search has resulted in too many results you will see an orange panel explaining how many results have been returned and suggests refining your search to reduce the number of results that will be returned.
- If you need to alter the Search Results Limit, please contact your System Administrator.
The following issues have been fixed:
- Log Editing: Choosing the option to insert a Basic Media Item would cause RVT to close.
- Local Media cache: If the Local Cache Format was set to mp3 then media items would not be created if RVT determined it should only download the start or end of the item and then rebuild.
- Local Media cache: If a Media Item contained a list that contained the same item more than once then RVT would attempt to download that item multiple times instead of just a single time.
v5.14 (Release 4) 29th October 2018
The following issues have been fixed:
- SegueEditor: Repeatedly opening and closing the SegueEditor popup window would cause Myriad to consume more memory than needed which could eventually lead to Myriad closing unexpectedly.
v5.14 (Release 2) 19th September 2018
Changes in this release:
Display:
- The Log Display has the new "Trash" can (for easy drag-deletion of Log Items) as well as the Replace button now being visible on the Home tab.
- The Double Height Log display option now has the option to show the Artist on the second line.
- You can now show the Media ID on the Log Display.
- There is a new option in Customise that allows you to turn on Large Font mode.
The following issues have been fixed:
- RVT would not download the "ending" for items it had already download the "start" for - so for example, recording a voice link at the end of an item you had downloaded to record a voice link INTO, would only play back the two tones for the ending of the item.
- RVT would occasionly show a message about not being able to delete a partial file.
- Editing a Hardware Line, Split Group or AutoHook would cause RVT to close.
v5.14 12th September 2018
Changes in this release:
Log Editing:
- You can now Cut/Copy and Paste multiple Log items in the log. This makes it incredibly easy to quickly alter your show, either via the Edit Ribbon Tab, the right click menu, or good old fashioned keyboard shortcuts - see the right click menu to see the keyboard shortcuts.
- You can use shift+click or shift+mousewheel or shift+cursor keys to select a range of Log items.
- You can then "swap" a single item with another by highlighting it, then right click or by pressing Ctrl+W (or using the Ribbon button), then select the item you want to swap with and click Swap again.
Other Changes:
- The way Myriad RVT and Myriad Remote Edit Server (RES) store the cached preview files has changed, so you will see some items that were cached by previous releases of RVT being re-downloaded.
- Myriad RVT now regularly "pings" Myriad RES to make sure the connection is still available, even if you are not actively using RVT.
The following issues have been fixed:
- Sometimes RVT would show an error message about not being able to remove an item from the local Cache.
- Closing the popup SegueEditor that was still downloading and preparing audio previews would then result in the segue playing back even though the window was closed. This meant there was no way to stop the playback of that segue.
v5.12 12th July 2018
Important: You must update to the latest version of Remote Edit Server to use this version. This is to support the improvements in the Library Searching.
New Features/Changes:
- The Media Library now has an "Advanced" search mode that allows you to search using many more options - for example, only show songs that were released between 1990 and 1995 that are on the Sony Record Label, that are at least 5 minutes long.
- A timeout of 5 seconds has been added to the RVT login window. Connection timeout or server not found errors now show a better errror message.
v5.11 Release 2, 2nd July 2018
Changes in this release:
- The Opus Encoder now encodes at a higher quality, particularly on computers with older or slower CPUs. This can result in a slightly longer encode time, but the audio quality is significantly improved.
The following issues have been fixed:
Installation:
- When installing onto computers running non-english editions of Windows, installation would show an error message about not being able to find the Users group.
v5.11 June 2018
Initial Public Release
Important Change since Preview Release:
The Ports used by Remote Edit Server have changed to 6948 and 6949 - if you have setup any port forwarding on any routers, or have existing connection details in RVT then you may need to alter them accordingly.
